  1. You're lucky to live out here. People seem pretty easy going which I could get used to. Thanks for the tip. Granite chief is on the list today. Someone told me last night that it was closed but I seemed to know the trail map better than him so I'll investigate in a few hours. The plan is to start there then ski siberia again (which was the run of the day yesterday) and eventually work my way back to snow king. A lot of KT was roped off due to the hard conditions yesterday.
  2. Here with the wife...skiing solo. Gonna ski tomorrow again and leave on Tues.
  3. Finished up a few hours ago with ride up the KT 22 lift to saddle down some crazy steep stuff on KT. The frozen crud made it even more challenging. KT is a few thousand vert of the elevator and steeper. After that I rode up the funitel...skied down to the siberia express lift. Rode that back up to siberia ridge. Took the ridge down siberia bowl to mountain run to the base. I was thinking about making it over granite chief but my legs were done. I rode the red dog lift to the snow king peak and from there took a real long run that reminded me of the Wilmington trail at WF to the bottom. According to phreesheez I skied 13.6 miles total and 2.1 miles of vert. Pics below of KT 22s peak and siberia ridge
  4. Steep chute off of sun bowl..
  5. At the base after skiing the entire vert (I think) from Sun bowl through some steep Chutes to some more steep stuff to some blue trails to the Olympic house. The ungroomed stuff off of sun bowl is nasty. It's hard and frozen ungroomed and really steep. It must have gotten soft yesterday then froze overnight. Im headed over to KT22 now. Hopefully It's softer up there. Sorry for the continuous posts BTW. I'll forget stuff if I write a TR later. Here's a few photos off of sun bowl.
  6. jjust took the funitel to siberia express...siberia bowl down to the headwall express. Picture of siberia bowl below.
  7. Riding the Squaw creek lift... 33 and sunny. Getting ready to make my way over to kt 22.
  8. Sounds like an awesome opener at Jackson frost. I can't wait to get back next weekend
  9. Sun setting on Squaw Peak.
  10. Roulette. Reno's a lot cooler / nicer than I thought it would be. It just takes forever to get there.
  11. The place is huge. I have no idea where to start. I guess I'll start with the lift at the resort and take it from there. I have 1 day so far this season so I may take it easy.
  12. After spending a day in Reno (and winning 50 bucks) we've checked in at Squaw. HUGE THANK YOU to Phillycore who hooked me up with the free lodging. (I owe you buddy) I'll be on the Mt. tomorrow. In the mean time...here's a picture from our room.
  13. Definitely Toast. BTW just landed.
  14. I actually will miss not being at opening weekend at Jackson frost. BTW Just got the email and there's a chance east opens tomorrow. Ski vader for me.
  15. Can't be there this weekend. Every weekend thereafter for sure.
  16. Got your message. Downloaded and friended you. Can't wait to try it out.
  17. nothing like a little dusting to increase the stoke levels.
  18. Dan and myself practically had boulder park trail to ourselves each time we skied it. It was real easy to get ballistic speeds on both boulder park and love. Coverage is excellent.
  19. Jfskidan and myself should be there in a bit.
  20. Sweet. Soon there'll be love on the elevator...livin' it up when I'm goin' down.
  21. Snow in the western poconos right now.
  22. Nice. You should be ok at that time of year terrain wise. As far as the not to miss stuff goes. I would recommend starting off by riding the gondola to ski little WF - Excelsior is a great warm up run; head back up and work your way over to upper Northway, Essex and probably the best run off of little WF - Empire. If trees are your thing then bear left into the Cloudsplitter Glade which is steep and pretty tight and funnels into the High Country Glades. (Pray for snow!) Off of the Peak there isn't a boatload to choose from but what is there is more than sufficient. Skyward and the adjacent trees are hard to pass up. If cloudspin / Niagara are open they are a must as well. Definitely work your way to the bottom for the full 3100 vert but be sure to stop at Mid Mt and ride the Mountian Run lift (not sure if that's the official name of the lift) to ski Mt. Run which is like White Lightning on steroids. From my experience there, it's probably best to hit Lookout Mt. last. Lookout Below probably won't open if it's icy so if things soften up you may be in luck unless there's fresh snow, then you should be fine. LB is steep and narrow for about 900 vert. It's typically open later in the season. Another must ski run off of Lookout Mt. is the Sugar Valley Glades which are enormous (again pray for snow). Finish the day on the 3 mile long Wilmington Trail and you're good to go. I believe there are a few PASRs who ski WF alot (Zaldon, Moe etc) who could probably chime in a bit more. Have fun.
