The racing at Richmond hasnt been very good for a few years now. And unfortunately the NextGen car hasn't improved based on the first race there in The experience at the track was great though. Like most races right outside of the track is essentially a small carnival, food stands, merch trucks ect ect. But the best part was you can walk around the entire track within 10 feet of the fence and great views all around the track. Pro tip: Park on the other side of Laburnum Ave. I parked in the redbox at the bottom right. I watched the end of the race the burnout, tv interview and the second burnout. Walked out of the track thru a sea of people and then went for a light jog back to my car and was on my way. Being stuck on the track premise wouldve been a nightmare.

Also got a front row seat to MTJs burnout.

Sr was even in the house!! Lol

Earplugs/earmuffs are recommended but both My cousin and I didn't either and were "okay" at pocono and dover. But we were also mid-upper sections. When I went to Richmond solo I didnt bring either with me. When they started pace laps I was like "uh oh this is pretty loud". As soon as they announced it was the last pace lap and they were going green next time by. Damn near EVERY SINGLE PERSON put on earmuffs/plugs. It was at that point I knew I made a BIG mistake. Fortunately I had my Airpods with me and I put those it but it was still really bad. My ears were ringing for a couple hours after the race.

Its refreshing to see how many tickets theyve sold and the new car needs to perform well at this track and create good racing. And I think it will. Many people are NOT fans of Pocono. So if the car doesnt perform and they sell less tickets in the next couple years I would be shocked to see them leave Pocono altogether.

Well to be fair its 1 of only 2 tracks "in your backyard". But like Dan said, Dover should produce more on track entertainment. RICHARD! Thats really f***ing cool! Interesting. My cousin and I had the opposite experience. Although a little skewed because at Pocono we parked right in the middle of the tailgate section and it took us like 90 minutes to get out of the parking area and onto 115. That sucked but we has AC so whatever. At Dover we parked at one of the mall lots that was designated for nascar parking and it was a long walk. But as soon as we got back to our car were got right onto 13 and were on our way with no traffic.

Funny you says that about the rain... My cousin and I went 3 summers ago. It was a very similar day at 95+ degrees but overall a beautiful day minus the heat. About 2/3rds thru the race it starting drizzling out of nowhere! They put the race under yellow but kept the cars on pace laps. The rain lasted 5-10 minutes and once the rain was over the track "dried" almost instantly because it was so damn hot. It was awesome for the fans because it allowed us to cool off a little bit.

Really?? I might have to go jump in the pool one of these days lol.

Good thing I decided not to go to Pocono this weekend.
