  1. Definitely...not many times when you are on the ground and can look DOWN at an airplane flying. Seeing Air Force One parked at the airport from the mountain is pretty sweet too. Shitty view my ass..
  2. I've heard lots of people saying the views are awesome up there...beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  3. Definitely isn't a priority to get a new lodge or relocate tubing right now. The mountain needs to be loaded with new pines and lights. Would much rather see a high speed lift that goes from the bottom of phoebe to around the top of iron horse than a new lodge. But I'm sure that's not too likely. Hopefully the water park will bring in money and we will start to see more upgrades. Hopefully they will sell the zip rider too... Talk about a waste of money.
  4. lines started building up as the day went on but tapered off by 5 or 6. The lines didn't get much further out past the end of the blue ropes though so the wait wasn't too long at all. Tubing line stretched from tubing all the way over to the top of the bunny lift. Definitely brought in some money Saturday. Bad weather today though, not busy at all.
  5. there is spine with the small mailbox ontop c-box, rainbow box, and off to the right side there is a flat box stuck in the snow like a wall ride, also a slightly banked flat box next to it. a tabletop jump or I think an A-frame box? then there is a box that has a short flat section 2 foot maybe, to a mellow down that white pvc pipe flat box, or picnic table at an up angle that will drop you onto landing and then the small up to flat box as usual I may have left a thing or two out, but you get the idea.
  6. Switch is the race course and spike the big terrain park. Spur is just a stupid little connection that shouldn't be called a trail. Cannonball also is a "double blue square" not a diamond.
  7. Trees? I know they cut those all down so you can see the park from the lift but I'm sure everyone would rather it get filled in with some big pines. They may have also done that for the halfpipe? So that the pole guns on switch could be used to blow snow over onto spike? That's just a guess though, not sure if they have ever actually done it.
  8. I thought cannonball was the best so far this year that I've ridden. Did a few laps on that and boomer. Lightning was fun as usual, bumps were nice, no ice to be found. makes for great conditions when they blow on the face.
  9. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me but whatever...be smart and don't ride in the woods alone and you'll be fine day or night. Part of the reason to partake in the sport is the thrill and adrenaline rush, maybe woods at night just adds to that?
  10. Lights don't stop at the edge of the trails...
  11. Take a stroll over to Mainline and have a look if you don't think they are making snow. Look from highball and you can see there's now at least a 5 foot base in some areas and they are still blasting it. Looks to me like things are getting added to the park. The big rainbow went up and and the S-box is also in although it looks like somebody put their head through the topsheet. The features look to be pretty nicely groomed to me but I don't know much. And to add, Sno is still in the building process. They weren't bought out by peak resorts who are already established and have millions to blow. Sno needs the money they are making to make changes that are needed and to keep the lifts turning. If they start making money and turning profit you'll see more money being allocated for the park. Until then be happy with the money they already spent on the rails and boxes to upgrade from montage. Or have you forgotten that montage had about 4 boxes and a couple rails that should have been used for a skate park? Give it time and you'll see things get better.
  12. Do yourself a favor and put your bar down..it's pretty easy to do. Ever take a look at the size of those trees alongside the quad at the bottom? Take a look at this video, skip to the 10:05 mark. The trees next to the quad are just as big or bigger (thicker). http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1734472502795274450&hl=en-CA# Oh and by the way...if the lift starts rolling backwards it'd be a good idea to jump! When I was in Vermont the one time and we didn't put the bar down they grabbed a megaphone and started yelling at us to put it down...
  13. They gave pretty much all the info you will need. Just to touch on another thing, you will find there is usually a huge difference in conditions and weather from the top of the mountain and the bottom ( referred to as north face). If you find that the conditions get a bit rough up top you are much better off staying on north face. I'd take lower runaway (found right at the bottom of the iron horse lift). The trail starts off really mellow and then drops down a slight headewall. At that point you can continue down runaway or tAke a crossover to lower fastttack on your right. My girlfriend is a beginner at snowboarding and she found fast track a bit easier. But if you can handle either of those it would be wise of you to hang out on north face if the winds get too bad up top. If you can do those with ease you can head over to cannonball and give that a whirl. On your right while riding up the quad will be Boomer. You can decide then whether or not you think you are up to it or not. The diamonds always have the best conditions in the morning as they usually blow fresh snow ontop every night and there is less wind blowing it all over the place like it dies up top. White lightning is bumped up now, starting to get deep in the middle but the skiieea right side is still mellow. It stayed powder until atleast 7 last night when I left. Plus the quad lift will be the warmest and shortest lift to ride. So in short if you feel you can do the bottom hills after you taste a bit of runaway and fast track then stick there and enjoy it. As they said bar food is good, cafe is decent buy pricey, a lot of times they don't even gave cafe food on weekdays, not sure about friday. There's also a wendys 5 minutes away at the bottom of the mountain on Davis street. A bunch of restraunts even closer at the shoppes at montage.
  14. They are probably working on other boxes and rails to get up in the park. Maybe the big rainbow box that was as cracked last year? S-box didn't make an appearance last year if I remember correctly, that was a fun box to kill some time on trying to slide the whole thing but who knows if we'll see that again. I could see mainline staying the way it is for a while considering spike is still bare and being worked on. Would be nice to get things mixed up a bit over there though. Even changing some of the stuff that's already up there... Making the flat boxes ups or downs etc. Throw the pipe or mailbox on top of a small spine..yada yada yada. I know things were slow going with setup changes last year too. Those mini flat boxes on mainline didn't last too long..2 days maybe? Guess we'll have to wait and see what comes next.
  15. Spike: Down long mailbox or down box urban setup 3 option flat rail, single barrel down rail, maybe another single barrel flat? Not sure about the last 2 options slight up flat box then a table top type jump with a wedge lip that looks pretty vertical A-frame box long flat picnic table. Mainline: Small mailbox C-box to the left small rainbow box corrugated pipe flat 10-15 foot up to flat box flat box single barrel rail flat(?) or long pvc pipe on ground Might be a flat rail in here somewhere small flat to down box, or another flat box off the headwall. There's your fucking report. Not sure how accurate it is, haven't been down either trail in a while, but nothing new was added, but may have forgot a thing or two. Mainline, for the most part, is accurate except I forget if there was a flat rail in there. Spike is pretty accurate except the 3 option island I can't remember what 3 rails are out
  16. Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. There is a timeframe where they will get the reduced rates 24/7 for a while but it's not in December. Sometime in January I guess?
  17. Working on my iPhone. Only suggestion I would make maybe changing the background color. It's not A necessity but maybe a shade of blue would be better suited twoards winter. Just my opinion, but just nitpicking since you asked.
  18. The direct link worked... Maybe make the webcam "screenshot" on the homepage a link so when you click on it, it will open up that link to the cam?
  19. Thought the picture problem was just my PC, looks better now. The webcam doesn't seem to update for me like it did on the old site..?
  20. I believe...I just...did.
  21. Lighting is still an issue...but it's better than nothing.
  22. Finally... Looks good too. Pretty sure that's the same trail map as the montage one just some "bling" added to it. Either way it beats the cartoon map. Now hopefully it stays updated.
  23. There's about 15-20 new trees at the top of the quad lift in the parking lot, and maybe 4 or 5 where the top of the small halfpipe usually is. All for decoration only, not for wind protection. And a couple on the side of the bunny hill.
