Making Turns

Making Turns (3/10)

  1. Wow, sounds like a great day. JF is an easy run from Bucks County. Out 313 and up 476. Have not been out yet this year, but hopefully soon.
  2. the shuttle or "wagon" adds character to the place and experience.
  3. Good report and nice pics. I have wanted to get up to Mt. Snow for the last couple of years.
  4. Wow, that sucks. Such a young life to end. My son's friend was killed at Camelback when they were in High School about six years ago. Still think of that young man frequently. God Bless the families.
  5. Not the biggest fan of CB but enjoyed the video. Some of the old footage reminded me of learning to ski forty years ago at my uncle's place at Arrowhead Lakes. It was a tiny hill with a tow rope, but for a kid from the inner city (philly) I thought I was in the Swiss Alps! Thanks for posting.
  6. Agree that a high speed lift is a great idea (Elk could use one also). I have not made it up to Montage this year (yet) but sounds as though there are a shitload of improvements and the attendance is way up. Hope it continues and then the new owners make some money and can invest in a HS lift. I ski a lot at a small mountain in southern NH called Crotched; they bought a HS and installed it about two years ago, It makes a world of difference. I always enjoyed Sno (Montage) great conditions and low crowds. Not being on Route 80 proximity of the NY/Northern NJ yahoos is a big plus. I wish them the best and if they build a HS lift "they will come" reference to an old baseball movie that most of you are too young to remember. Let it snow.
  7. I was there on January 9th and the conditions were excellent. Lehigh got a little icy at the end of the day which I thought was odd as the remainder of the trails were still in great shape. Have not been up there since. I believe they got about six-eight inches of snow total last weekend. I really enjoy Elk it is my favorite in PA, shame that it is such as far ride. Enjoy.
  8. Looks good Art. Probably good therapy working on your skis in your basement. Save a couple of bucks also. I take my skis and my boys boards to buckman's once or twice a season....not cheap! Enjoy your reviews and pics.
  9. 97.5 Fanatic (Philly Sportstalk) day at JF. Wednesday not the greatest day of week, but a good deal. http://www.975thefanatic.com/events/jon-and-sean-snow-day/
  10. GSS I thought of you today dude. I know I would get your post. Floyds Folly was rocking Happy New Year.
  11. Nice day at Frost today. Very cold pre storm. Conditions were very good. More crowded than I would have thought, but best of all no lift lines. Coup de grace was me and my 22 yo son hitting the elevator or river view for our last run.............and neither went down or fell but had our manhood tested. Overall a great day.
  12. Couple of observations after visiting today with my two boys who were home for the Holidays. Great.....let me correct that, perfect snow. Wow the snow making and grooming were incredible The better I get at skiing the quicker I get bored at small mountains; BB is what it is but three hours that is all I can take; boredom sets in. Asians do not celebrate Christmas? Enough said! Meant to type 12/25 to much eggnog when I got home!
