  1. Looks like they blew snow as it's nice, soft and grippy, no granular.

First run down Vista, Midway and Main Street. Snow great and no crowds. In search of Tarponhead.

Down Tuts to Main Street. Gorgeous!

  2. Or u can google...

Johnny Law is much more informative and concise!

Don't have to wade through all the Google chaff...

Thinking of heading out Thursday afternoon. U interested?

    What time you thinking?

i've been using swix ch6 a lot this winter since it's been so cold with generally pretty dry snow and it's worked really well, lasted longer than normal, but holy crap does it suck to scrape. even hot scraping it, the stuff chips off instead of peeling off like a warmer, softer wax does.

I've been using CH4 for cold days which scrapes off to powder.

Using some red from Race Wax for warm days, which is looking like what I'll use for this weekend.

ill be getting out! even though my pass is already payed for i do spend money at blue's bar. a budweiser and a shot of tequila cost me $13 before tip, what type of shit is that?

Yeah, with the prices Blue charges at the bar, they should stay open until May...

  3. minimal snowmaking this year has helped them. Once they blew snow, there wasn't much done to reclaim snow lost by warm ups and rain. One of their biggest costs is snowmaking, and with only doing the bulk of that once, I'm sure they are making bank.

Only that one big warmup with rain that they had to recover from, but they already had a mega-base set up before it with the week of brutal cold.

  4. It has got to have been a super season this year, especially with the bulk of the natural snow falling south of Blue, which serves to pull out the crowds.

The question becomes, how fast does it warm up and how long do crowds still keep coming out???

With still a bunch of snow on the grass, people aren't going to be thinking too much about golfing, so it may keep them coming out to the slopes.

Once the crowds start to diminish, so will go Blue's season.

Hell, even if they just kept the quad or (gulp) even the doubles running into April, I'd be happy to ski it...

I might even be persuaded to buy another waffle with chocolate to help keep em open longer!

  5. Sounds like you were running them early in the day?

After seeding, bumps are practically non-existent.

Give people a few hours to run them in (or have SP destroy them with toboggan drills) and you'll have pretty deep bumps.

Sometimes, but not often, they let the bumps go and just blow in them.

Most of the time they mow em down, blow some snow on top, then reseed.

Unfortunately when it's cold as crap, there's no way anything is going to stick to the boiler underneath and eventually the new stuff is going to get scraped off.

Only spring conditions are going to change that.

  6. Kickers on Nightmare as well

    Yeah, try hitting them!

You end up landing right in the middle of the bottom mogul run, at least that's how it was couple of weeks ago.

I don't know if they ever reset them since.

Challenge comp course had the landing moguls a mile down from the landing. Plenty of room to stop.

Problem was the landings were like concrete.

Hopefully they make it to 3/30 and it's a nice, sunny, warm spring day!
