Yup married a year and a half. Finally got my wife into skiing after 3 years of trying. She's a lot more receptive to spending every weekend skiing in the winter now that she actually enjoys it too. I'm really into trees these days. The sugar valley glades look pretty sweet. Thanks for the suggestions.... Gives me somewhere to start.

I just booked 3 days in Lake Placid at the end of January. I got 3 days and nights of lift/lodging for $365 for 2 of us. It works out to $60 bucks a day for lift and lodging which is cheaper than their daily rate of $82 for just a lift ticket. We're probably gonna do 2 days at Whiteface and one at Gore on the way back since their lift tickets are interchangeable. I've never been to Whiteface and haven't been to Gore in a couple years. Let me know if there's some not to miss stuff at Whiteface. I'm pretty stoked.

I haven't seen any evidence of snowmaking on their website or anything. They're most likely holding off til right after Thanksgiving when the true cold snap sets in. Let me know when you want to go up to the 'skills. I'm down for a jaunt up there one of these weekends.

I tend to agree with you guys. I thought they were being overly optimistic with their website update today that continued to tout Saturday as opening day.

Bell got a few inches of snow yesterday and has an opportunity for snowmaking for a couple nights this week. Do you guys think they'll make their projected opening on Saturday?

Decided not to get a pass this year. Instead I will be sampling a variety of PAs finest ski areas on Saturday mornings and other various days. I'm sure plenty of those days will be at Blue

CB is alluding to them blowing out the mice on their facebook page. It looks like they'll have a chance tonight and/or tomorrow night. Should be interesting.

I've done the entire 3k at killington. On a snowboard it can be slow and painful, but overall it's one long ass run.

I decided to forego the Elk pass this season. I think I'm going to go passless this year. Especially if Ride Delaware gets his condo up at Sugarbush. It'll give me the flexibility to go up there and mooch off of his accommodations if I want to. This way I can mix things up a bit and hit Blue and CB as well as Elk. Financially if I get as many days in as I'd like, it may end up costing me a bit more than an Elk pass, but I think I'll enjoy the flexibility.

I know my township offers discounted lift tickets. Does anyone know how much they're usually discounted or if there're any limitations on them? My township doesn't have any prices or anything posted yet for the upcoming season so I'm trying to get an idea of how much they discount them.

Does anybody know what is in the Elk Big & Friendly book? I have a friend who's interested in skiing a lot this winter, but not really season pass worthy. It seems like an expensive coupon book, I figured it must have some decent discounts but I can't imagine it could be worth it for $500

I saw it in Lowes the other day and took a look at their predictions. It looks like it should be a good winter, but not as snowy as last year.
