  1. Ya man bike with Justin. We've done the ride before and its not bad at all. It'll be good to see ya!
  2. Haha yeah there is some crazy history and sideways story involving the brewery being sold and then bought back. The center city location was definitely before my time; no offense! = P It is now located in this pretty cool old firehouse that also has a bike shop and coffee shop. Now they basically focus on beer and pizza.
  3. Evening all... Threw together a last minute Matchstick Productions 'Attack of La Nina' Premier at Dock St. Brewery tomorrow night, November 15th. For those who've never been there, the pizza was rated among the Best in Philly by Philly Mag. I know some of those ratings are suspect, but I'll vouch in this case, their pizza is damn good! Anyway... Free to enter. Giveaways by Nordica, Subaru, Jack Frost/Big Boulder, etc... Movie starts at 8PM. Brewery is located at 50th and Baltimore where there is usually a good amount of street parking. Any questions let me know! Best, Trevor Oops! Forgot to mention that instead of charging for entry, we'd love any donations you could offer that will be contributed to our friends at Philabundance during the high demand holiday season!
  4. Argh that sucks! Some people just came over to where I'm hanging out and said they had to get creative in order to get here because there are a lot of closures due to downed trees. We have a mini-park built on the hill in the backyark and there are a bunch of up and comers out there shredding. There is a trash can bonk, a jump, a rail, and some kind of sliding feature that is a spin-to-win highlight reel producer. Thinking about doing a 'sponsor me' contest in a few minutes. Winner gets a sharpie marker...
  5. Just drove from Wind Gap up to Stroudsburg and back on 33. Between 33 and 611 probably a dozen cars smashed up, trees down all over the place, people doing stupid stuff, etc... Solid accident just north of Wind Gap had six cars into the guard rail and each other, another on 611 where a Blazer almost went through an AllState office after taking the front end off of a Lexus SUV.
  6. Things are getting pretty sickbird up here in the Wind Gap; absolutely nuking out there! I'm lining up to drop in on this fresh 'Snowslider' I found. Hoping to wind up at Grumpys BBQ in an hour or so. TR forthcoming...
  7. I don't get how people have problems with Patrol... Blue Mt Patrol was great last year when I took a little spill on Sidewinder.
  8. allow me to be the first to request a trip report. photos are a bonus...
  9. No worries. I have a 2004 5-speed Legacy Wagon and kinda like the older style myself. However, I've done a ton of events and thousands of miles over the past two years in the new Outbacks and they're still awesome in the snow and do wayyy better on the highway. Lots more passenger room too. My car really doesn't like to do over 70mph, not because it is falling apart or old, its just not geared for it. I'd never make it if I lived somewhere with 80mph+ speed limits. Just putting the offer out there in case anyone has been car shopping and is considering a Subaru... x2 for the Sunday River shots. Looks awesome!
  10. Of course not! Looks like you have Don K Subaru in Whitefish. You'd pay below what they pay for the car. Let me know if you're ever interested...
  11. If anyone needs a VIP deal on a new Subaru purchase/lease let me know; might be handy to have this year! Glad to hook it up for PASR regulars... PM me for details.
  12. Damn, sorry to hear about this... What are they using that kind of dump truck for up there? Waterpark construction?
  13. I agree with FGT on this one since it sounds like you're not too familiar with the area and looking to please everyone in your family. If it was just me going I'd do Sandy or somewhere between Powder and Basin in a heartbeat, but I've also been to Utah 20+ times so know the areas and what I like to ski. With your kids and wife to consider its definitely a different story. Park City has the free shuttle buses, lots of little shops and food spots, and plenty of other recreational things to do. Its really not even that far of a drive to LCC and BCC if you decide you'd like to go check those out. Either way you look at it a month is going to fly by out there. Use Park City as a home base because from there most of the resorts are either out your back door or less than an hour drive. Its only like a 30 minute drive from PC to SLC if you want to get into town for anything going on there or to try any of the good restaurants in SLC. There were many years where my family stayed in Park City because my Mom had meetings there, and my dad lil bro and I would drive to some of the other spots up north or in LCC/BCC. Even though a lot of us on this board that have been out multiple times have come to prefer Snowbird, Basin, Powder, Solitude; none of the resorts in Park City are going to let you down and you'll have plenty to explore. A crowded weekend out there is nothing compared to resorts in PA and NY. Sounds like a great opportunity, rip it up!
  14. Holy deep! Keep the pics coming!
  15. Try Tetongravity forums if you're not getting any bites here. I'm thinkin' you'll be holding onto those boardshorts or goodwilling them though...
  16. Ya I was reading about the Utah one when we were there. In Utah I'd go with Wasatch Powder Guides from what people have told me. They have access to the terrain around AltaBird. Nuff said... On the meadow skipping, Pow Mow Utah claims like thousands of acreage that you'd never really ski in a lift accessed way. It truly is just alpine meadows used for kiting. We only skied in like a 2000-3000 acre spread of the place. I have a few friends in Seattle who've done the Pow Mow BC heli/cat operation and rave about it. John went to Pow Mow Utah AND Whistler last year. Bitch... Anyway, thats what I thought he was confused about.
  17. Dude I think you're thinking the wrong Powder Mountain, or are you talking about heli-skiing? You're going to Utah, they'll be in BC...
  18. It is, but its proximity to the turnpike is not as attractive as Springs or Hidden Valley. I was at Hidden Valley for an event a few weeks ago and someone told me Blue Knob actually has some steeps that Springs and HV don't. Not sure how much I believe the dude but apparently they do have biking in the summer that is pretty legit so if I'm in the area I'm gonna check it out.

    WTB blades

Message me if you're serious. I have two pair in the basement, just need a tune for optimum bladeability.
  20. Snowing in the Willow Grove PA area. Looks like more coming on the radar.
  21. That kinda made me wonder at first too... With that kind of major trauma there are many other things that could have happened on the slopes/in transit/shortly after arrival to the hospital. The article notes he was initially not breathing, dude was basically on borrowed time from that point on. Sounds like a pretty serious injury on a relatively benign feature. Would definitely be interesting to have all the details.
  22. Sib where are they based out of by you? I know there wasn't anything medically legit (ie. medevac) in Whitefish when I was there...
