  1. tomorrow should be good.. with cold temps and snow finaly becomeing hard instead of slush. the lower park was surprisingly good today... Sidewinder.. not so much. i'll be out tomorrow morning nice and early.. and then i'll be with the Darkside Freeriders for the rest of the morning/afternoon. look for me. i'll be there. everything else was good today too. and thank god the rain held off.. thats gonna save some of the spots becoming thin.
  2. i understand that you needed more speed to do that. but make sure that people can hear you when you call your drop. i was standing right next to Pohachek who called his drop and i didnt hear you. if you are going to be doing that i would suggest waiting for it to be completely clear instead of swerving infront of somebody. no bad blood.... just giving you a suggestion so it doesnt happen again.
  3. well thats why i said "IF you are going to ski the park"...
  4. 1 week with good coverage. 2 weeks with decent. possibly 3 depending on weather. i usually drove up on the weekends to check it out. the reason they closed is because they had banquets scheduled in the main lodge, it had nothing to do with snow. i just hope they dont make that same mistake.
  5. yeah, the most they have are line-cutting privilages.. they are even allowed to close off a single feature. i think its going to change next year though.
  6. if they are open that late... i will be the happiest person. they can if the blow every chance they get. if they stay open that late i think it would bring a bunch of people to Blue for some late season skiing and would definately make people contemlpating getting a season pass to Blue get one for the upcoming season... i just hope they dont prematurely close like they did last year.
  7. thats the whole problem. once freeriders is able to close a trail for practicing... the racers are going to shit themselves becaus they wont be the Gods of the mountain anymore. mostly everybody agrees that the park or some features should be closed for the freeriders... until the "power of closing trails" is dispersed among the other programs, they will still think they own Blue. p.s.- i dont know how many times i have gone on liftrides with people who normally dont ski at Blue on the weekends and they always complain that they have never gotten a chance to ski on Razors because its always closed when they are here. i think sometimes the race team should share a little with the paying weekend customes and maybe move over to raceway for their practicing.
  8. there wouldnt be such a "rivalry" between the two if the racers would get the sticks out of their asses. i'm sure you ahve seen the racers come flying through the park cutting people off and riding over lips. thats the equivalent of me poaching their course and stopping down on the gates like jibs... it shouldnt happen. i repect what they do... they need to do the same in return thats just dickish. i refer people to the program so that it can get better in the future. not to mention that the coaches who are doing it have more certifications then i will ever have.
  9. the only reason that the race team is "a better value" is because they think they own the mountain and everybody treats them like Gods. Many of the coaches are cocky assholes that talk crap on any freestyler... probably because all their kids want to do is go through the park, thats why they all step into their twintips after they are done with their Nazi race practice. that stopped last weekend when they were told by mangaement to keep their mouths shut and be mature. i'm just bitter about the "race gods" at Blue... they get treated too well. if freestylers are paying the sme amount of money for a program, they should ahve the right to close down a trail for practicing too. and no, i'm not paying $75 to help them with the kids and help them film and fix lips. if you are there to leanr from the program its different than helping the coaches out. and most likely if the price was less there would be more kids.... but then there wouldnt be any profit because they still have to pay the coaches.. and any mountain is about making a profit
  10. if you want to improve on skills in the park and learn to do more than 50/50 a box then its not pricey at all. its not cheap to go to a camp either but i dont see you complaining about that. there are more people that do the race team crap each year and that costs $500... not including skis that are more expensive than twins and it also doesnt incluide the cost to travel and enter into a bunch of different races all the time. its the first year for the program. i think that 6 kids in it is a great start for people not having any exposure to them in previous years. i'll be out there tomorrow early in the AM... most likely for opening. i'll keep my eyes open for Freeriders
  11. Chris, do you know what is on the agenda for tomorrow since its supposed to rain? have any plans for indoor training/activities/movie watching?
  12. i have seen them blow on 12 trails top to bottom at once. i'm sure they can have razors covered with a couple inches. razors is fine though, the only trail as of right now that needs snow badly is the park.
  13. just hit on some guy, if you would do that i'm sure he would help with funds for the day. you're hot and should use that to your advantage
  14. oh yeah, its the truth. i saw him as i was hiking the park, he was in the lower park. then he was on his ass on sidewinder a few times. me and my friends always "call" the people that look like the biggest freaks on the mountain.... once piece suits, flourescent colors, etc... well lets just say he was the call of the night.
  15. there is no way that it is as bad as Bear. i thought you skied the park, thats why i told you to stay home... everything else is skiable. there arent any dirt slalom courses setup at Blue... yet
  16. yeah i saw him too... and i hate whoever it was because all they did was hit the lips onto rails like jumps and ruin them... sweet.
  17. some parts are kinda sketchy. challenge has some dirt showing... and top of razors. i dont know about any of the trails on the west side because those are all beginner and blue squares. if you arent skiing the park then you should be fine maybe
  18. i was up there today i'm not kidding... if you are going to ski the park then don't go. its the worst that it has been all season. there were 2 rails that were set-up well and the rest of the park sucked. i'm usually on here to promote how good Blue's park is but honestly, if you go sunday, you will be extremely dissappointed.
  19. not in the park man. i just got back. its rough. its bad. its shit. there is a 1 foot wide path of snow leading to each of the first jumps. that will be gone tomorrow and be a nice rock in-run unless they plow the jumps over to cover it.
  20. icy? i think you mean grassy. its going to be hell. the rain will kill what is left. but whatever is left will be ice. yay.
  21. you dont even want to know what the rain on saturday is going to do to every resort in PA.... thank god for cold temps next week. Blue better blow for 240 hours straight. yeah i said it. 240.
  22. just got back after 10 runs. dont go. its bad. and te 2" of rain tomorrow isnt going to help anything either. wait until they can blow snow all next week and go next weekend. you will just be dissappointed if you go up. believe me.
  23. colored lights? that is freakin awesome... if any mountain around here were to do it, it would be Bear because Blue doesn't care about the lighting in their park. most of the times the lights randomly go off and never come bck on the rest of the night. by the end of the night you are holding your cell phone open just so you can see... well its not that bad, but it does suck.. after today, though, i think a lot of mountains are going to have their landing marked... with mud.
  24. i always wondered about you.... i think that secured my thoughts.
