  1. Root convinced me..camelback is the most Jersey part of PA next to south philly so I figured what better person to ski there with than the garden states own Root
  2. Salty I said I had fun skiing camelback last season with Root and TP4...it was actually worth the price of admission that day. Oh wow you almost got me with the for a week thing...clever...OK millennial hehehehe
  3. 100
  4. Bumping this to get stoked!!!! 64.5 more hours!!!
  5. So many great boomer memes...olds love talking about millennials. In Allentown 4 people ran for 3 seats on city council. The lone republican is 65 and like my 4th favorite Hall and Oates song,”Out of Touch”...he said on council he’d create a millennial leadership committee..haha 2 of the 3 people who beat him are millennials. The boomers are my main customers..their fathers fought the Second World War, spent their weekends at the Jersey shore..now still living here in Allentown...buying lots of tombstones and Ford Explorers as well and Toyota camrys by the boatload...they also love email and their grandkids
  6. Another Ikonic resort. Back in the day sugarbuch used to be called Mascara mountain. It was where the elite skied...people like Stein Eriksen..they even had a gondola that ran up Organgrinder. RIP to Stein a true skiing Legend and Legends rule!!!
  7. The baby boomer thing is interesting as well. That boomer generation participated in skiing and riding more than generation X and millennials..mainly for economic reasons. They had more disposable income/less debt and skiing was a lot cheaper. Crazy how the US population has gone up 40% in the last 40 years while the number of ski resorts has declined by about that factor while skier visits have been flat. Places like Blue, Stowe, Abasin and Jackson hole which continue to see skier visit increases and expand are the winners of the industry. Also when you noted Killington dropped from 1 million to 750,000 skier visits is crazy. Hunter lost skier visits in the early 00s as well. Cheaper airfare may be a factor in this.
  8. Paid volunteers make no sense...what kind of benefits do you get besides free lift tickets?? For patrollers with families getting free season passes for the whole family makes it pretty legit for lower income folks. My uncle was a patroller at Jack Frost and he always said I should be a patroller to give back to the sport. My giving back to the sport is posting on here and helping noobs like @saltyant
  9. RideDE what percentage of your riding days at Sugarbush are you patrolling? Must be tough for you to be up for dawn patrol.
  10. I thought Win is over 70 years old wow. I feel like Blue has about 30-40 patrollers on the weekends. There are 180 or so patrollers at blue and they typically have to work one weekend shift and weekday or night shift a week. I do find it crazy that for profit ski resorts still have volunteer ski patrols. Places like Jackson hole I’m sure don’t have volunteers but they’re rolling in the dough.
  11. I saw somebody wearing ski pants today..ski season is almost here.
  12. Well Win is up there in years. I’m sure he’s ready to enjoy his retirement. Now that it’s on the Ikon pass more people with get to experience the resort. Great stuff and should be good job security for ski patrol as a lot of Ikonic people are real Yahoos
  13. @Ride Delaware ? great news!!! https://freeskier.com/stories/alterra-mountain-company-plans-to-acquire-sugarbush-resort?fbclid=IwAR3SpRbo7PywErqt5g2YKCetpvgsMmR103ulkEXzI6daQrAZjP38S_xkPyo
  14. Full Ikon is $1099 and I’m not cancelling over the chance to save maybe a couple hundred not that significant just maybe for next year I’ll get the Ikon.
  15. I agree 100%
  16. Well Blue is just barely in NEPA..
  17. Are you sure you weren’t on chatterbait
  18. Plus Fluffy
  19. Hammertime.
  20. Hehehehehe buddy you crack me up. I mean they’re opening soon @Justin
  21. 16 and my 17th trip. I went in 2002 then 2005-now....I should have bought Ikon pass. 7 day JH pass through central reservations $828. The 8 nights at elk country significantly less than the lift ticket. Oh well..
  22. Me Root and TP4 had a blast at camelback this past April. Of course the price was right...free.
  23. Jackson hole booked 1/28-2/5
  24. Toast we all have access to these webcams.
  25. Wow @saltyant even your local station WNEP did a story on Blue mountain. https://wnep.com/2019/11/12/blue-mountain-ski-resort-plans-earliest-opening-ever/
