I believe Jackson hole used to subsidize the airlines to get direct flights in. Remember in the summer there are four times as many people in Jackson hole. A lot of the in town motels are closed down during the winter.

Read the Ikon pass thread on the Teton gravity forums in general skiing folder or the wasatch thread. People are pissed..but there’s also double as many people in the SLC metro than a generation ago and cheap flights galore.

About 5 years ago when they replaced the old Casper triple with a high speed quad followed by replacing the Eagles rest and sweetwater chairs with a gondola, Jackson hole advertised as all new all blue to get more lower level skiers there. They regraded a few runs as well. Jackson is a terrible place for beginners and intermediates yet those people have a lot less impact on the local season passholders than the Ikon passholders who line up for the Tram not the teewinot.

You know what Jackson hole locals who complain about the crowds is like me driving on 22 and complaining about the traffic...they’re part of the problem just as much as me driving on 22 is part of the problem. Most of the JH locals don’t even bother skiing if there not recent new snow anyway...

When I ride the castle rock chair at sugarbush I have the theme song to fraggle rock in my head..when on the heavens gate chair it reminds me of the heavens gate cult and sometimes I just as lib and sing the song, Do you you ski like I do..set to this song

It’s pretty much stopped snowing in Jackson hole. It’s amazing how few people are in line today. Their season in winding down..Blue might be open later than JH
