  1. Someone make that happen this winter! Plattekill PASR day....
  2. Turnout didn't seem too great... I did enjoy watching the films even though all those urban scenes isn't something I usually would sit down and watch on my own. I agree that doing one night for ski vids and the other for snowboard would be cool or because they are showing two films each night they could do 1 and 1 to give a little more variety. $16 bucks to watch some videos and an Elk lift ticket is still a very good deal.
  3. Cool. I will most definitely be at the afterparty also. Hopefully get a chance to meet a few of you
  4. Always good to see new trails, but as someone else mentioned the trail they are calling little gap was definitely open last season... there was no rope and people were riding it....
  5. Just pulled the trigger on a new Yes Basic should be here in a few days, hopefully not too much longer before I am on it....
  6. My brother lives in SLC and I go out as much as possible. I would recommend looking for a place in Cottonwood Heights which is right at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon and also only like 10-12 minutes driving to the base of Little Cottonwood. Here you would have easy access Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, and Alta. Solitude is great because it is usually not overcrowded I also think they have a really good mix of terrain for intermediate and beginner. Same goes for Brighton which has some really nice fun groomers.... Snowbird is definitely a great resort but is a little more advanced. Cottonwood Heights would be good for your wife as a non skier too as it is pretty convenient to just about everything in the SLC area.
  7. Yeah man I just am stoked to be on the snow. My brother lives in Cottonwood Heights right at the base of BCC, he just had a baby so that is my excuse to get out there one last time.... GAD 2 chair is pretty sweet, I actually love the runs on that side of the resort.I am not too sure how much longer Gad 2 is going to run though, I think they will have that closed by the time I get out there, but who knows. Little Cloud chair is fun too last time I was there in March the top of Little Cloud was a complete whiteout couldn't see anything up there on the ridge, but dropping into the Little Cloud Bowl on a pow day is one of best experiences I have ever had. Next time you get out there, make sure you check out Solitude, Honeycomb Canyon is sick.
  8. Nice! I am hitting Snowbird May 13th! Can't wait.
  9. Nice Report. I was up Saturday and your report is spot on. Seemed like the options off the 6 pack were limited and certainly didn't feel like their were 34 trail options. Most of the trails were bump runs, but at least the snow was soft so it didn't suck to ride on a snowboard. There were a ton of barespots though, and it was actually kind of shitty that on Annapurna I got stuck on the left side of the trail when the snow "ran out" and had to traverse over mud and boulders to get back to snow and continue my way down. I figured ski patrol should have marked off that side since conditions were so shitty. Looking back up the trail there were a few others who made the same wrong turn and were stuck also Overall though for $25 bucks it was still worth it to get some nice spring runs. Weather was awesome about 70 degrees all day and the party was absolutely raging from Pond skimming till closing. The party deck under the six pack on Broadway was going pretty good all afternoon with new 30 packs arriving via ski patrol sleds. One patroler was cruising around playing an acoustic guitar and all around everyone was just living it up and having a great time. Down at the base lots of moms dancing to crappy music. Props to Hunter to for keeping the lifts running past their advertised closing time of 4pm. I left around 5:30 and the lifts were still spinning.
  10. Yea, sounds like everyone here likes Mt Snow. Appreciate the the info. I hope you make it out to Snowbird...My brother lives in SLC and he is having a baby first week in May so most likely when I go out to see the baby I will get at least one more day in there.
  11. Thanks, maybe I will push it a little bit and head to VT after all.
  12. Really? 4hrs? I was looking on google Maps from my house in West End Allentown it said like 5 1/2. At that point which is the better MT Magic, Stratton, or Mount Snow.. They all were about 5 1/2 hrs on google maps...
  13. Thanks for the tip Grilled Steeze... Northern VT is a little bit too far just for a day trip coming from Allentown I guess I will stick with Hunter.. Was really hoping to get a chance to hit Jay Peak this season but I don't think it will happen.
  14. I hope not... This is my first full season riding and I don't want it to end. Thinking about the best place to go this weekend. Anyone have any tips on the best place in Southern VT or Catskills? Is S. VT that much better than Catskills this time of the year? This season I have been to Powder Mt, Snowbird, Brighton, Loveland etc so I am looking at who has the best terrain to offer. I haven't been anywhere in the Catskills or Vermont so I am clueless as to who has the best up there. Any tips?
  15. Hey guys, new to this forum. I will definitely be at Blue, I mostly go up by myself and ride all the time wouldn't mind hooking up with anyone for a few laps. I am always dressed in black columbia jacket, black pants, black beanie. Started riding so much this season just picked up my season pass for next year so I will be seeing Blue a whole lot more. I don't really have any friends that ski/ride. I am not a park guy, just like to cruise and mix it up blue/black whatever. Snow last night was pretty nice, this rain is bumming me out, but hoping for some good spring conditions on Saturday.
