As long as they are getting close. I won't be around for any of the madness this weekend anyway so if Sno waits a week its fine by me. More base and more trails for when they finally do open.

Shawnee might be a viable option for early season. If they are open the weekend after Thanksgiving, it might be worth it to go there as opposed to other places that will be mobbed.

I don't know if I would get boots online. I"ve got bindings and boards from the internet, but a boot is something that you really can't tell until its on your foot exactly how its going to fit. Go and try them on at a store and get them there.

Just my 2 hundredths of a dollar but I've got a pair of K2s now with one of those convertible cap straps and I absolutely swear by them now. I feel funny notice a major difference now when I have the strap up in its normal position.

Fall on your forearms. It took me a little while to get the concept down, but if you make falling onto your forearms second nature rather than falling onto your wrists, you don't need any kind of wristguards.

Eh, you have to look at it this way. We all know that until there is a PROLONGED cold snap no one is going to make snow. While it may be a bit of a treat to get a rail jam or something like that, right now i.e. this week and next week are not realistic skiing weeks in Pennsylvania. I know for a fact that Tussey will not open any time before next semester and I enjoyed today by going for a nice hike in shorts. Its going to get skiing cold soon enough, being in the 40s or high 30s isn't helping anything so it might as well be 70

Burton makes some great stuff. I'm still riding on an 8 year old Burton. I've since gotten non burton boards, but this old girl is still kicking the few times a year i pull her out. On the same token, the worst pair of bindings I've ever owned were Burton's. Lets not worry what each other is sliding down the hill on. As long as we all start at the top and get to the bottom we should all be friends

You obviously didn't watch "Ski Patrol" last night. Those guys have one of the toughest and most dangerous jobs in the country and we should all be proud of them.

I don't know, maybe I"m the only one and if I am I'll shut up, but it just seems absolutely ridiculous that you could have spent that much time on the snow and HAVE NEVER PROGRESSED as a rider.
