  1. It's an additive used to increase snow production.
  2. I know what SnoMax is, what's the problem?
  3. (Total Number of trails) - (Current trails open) = (Number of trails still needed to be 100%)
  4. The beauty of RFID is that you don't need to be able to see, or even be able to locate the tags. The ideal lift ticket system would employ scanners like xNick suggested above. It would be some thing like things at the exits of grocery stores, you could just ski through and the system could detect the tags. There is no reason for hand held scanners. The need for them and the fact that they don't work well is a sign that they did a poor job when designing the system. Do you know how who their RFID system is by so we could check them out?
  5. Because a topic we were discussing the possibility of two years ago on PASR, RFID Lift tickets, is now being implemented by sno mountain. I guess people didn't pick up on that; should have been more clear.
  6. That doesn't make any sense. What does distance have to do with how much they should charge, your already there. Your getting an extra 6 hours for much cheaper than you would normally and their regrooming the slopes. From what I remember Blue only regrooms a few slopes midday. Yeah having to revalidating the pass is stupid and they should just offer an extended pass so you don't have to get a new one, but there is no reason they shouldn't charge a reasonable price for it. It would be nice, but not necessary.
  7. Sno Mountain. PASR is on top of technology.
  8. Sorry. Yes they do have nine trails (four runs) described above open.
  9. Just called their office. They said that they were running on a day to day basis so they can't really tell me what else will be open tomorrow. Basicly they don't know.
  10. The conditions were good this morning and will probably stay that way. It was mostly machine groomed man made snow that held an edge good except for the park, but that might soften up. It wasn't crowded this morning, but I don't know what the after school crowds will be like. I can't really give advice if its worth the drive though because mine is only 5 minutes.
  11. Correct, It's mostly the stuff accessed by the Stevenson lift.
  12. I just heard on the news that Sno wants to open today at noon, with at least 5 trails. They mentioned wanting to open with expert terrain, so hopefully that means at least one north face trail.
  13. Nice, I haven't been keeping up on their conditions while I'm home but it's great that there opening this weekend. It looks like they've been blowing snow on a lot of terrain and should have a good amount open soon. I haven't been watching the weather, but I think it's been a bit colder their than here. I'll post some more updates when I get some riding in out there.
  14. Do you expect to have Marjie's open by Sunday? I'm not getting my hopes up, but that would be awesome (I go back to school Monday ).
  15. I didn't realize they were opening at noon. I'll most likely be there for opening tomorrow.
  16. When does everyone plan on being there tomorrow? I want to get first tracks at CB tomorrow, but may go to Sno later, or just go there instead. Any word on what will be open?
  17. There is no reason for that at all, put a picture on the pass and have employees check it. Rampant poaching is created when the employees don't do their jobs.
  18. I have seen a few home made c-boxes on here so someone should be able to help. I think you would cut a section of the plexiglas to fit the curve, and work in smaller sections. I'm sure some on who has done it can shed more light though.
  19. The moron doesn't even strap in. Although I do have a strange desire to try it.
  20. No. They have been blowing on what they had open previously. They haven't even started blowing on any of the blacks yet. We might see them start working on some of the middle trials but I wouldn't expect them to start on trails that run out into the Stevenson until next week at least. I wouldn't be surprised if they are 100% in 2-2.5 weeks, but please keep the false information to yourself.
  21. Just got back. The conditions were groomed man made snow. It was firm, but loose enough to hold an edge. The snow held up very well through out the day. Unfortunately they have just two runs form the top. Crowds weren't a problem, but as I left buses were starting to unload. The park was the same as it was before they closed, but set up better. Most noticeably was that the flat boxes we a 1'-1.5' above the ground instead of 6". Overall today was probably some of the best conditions at CB in a while.
  22. And Wednesday is the intermediate school.
  23. I got mine a couple years ago, but I think I shipped pretty quick. Good luck with the snowmaking.
  24. I've got one too. Definitely a solid compressor.
