  1. I believe the mountain in that picture is actualy Alpine. I not positive, but that seems like it is more in the right place than shawnee.
  2. Although it would be nice if the whole mountain was open.
  3. I can't speek for CB but out in State College today the wind was crazy. It's to bad that the quad was closed, but today they might have had a ligitimate excuse. They should have handled the situation better though.
  4. New Groomer Pays Off on the Slopes The article says that the new groomer is keeping snow on the slopes and that if they didn't have it they would be closing trails left and right. It is supposed to be keeping the snow quality good too.
  5. I want to do it but I don't know If I can get off work. Anyone know the time?
  6. Asp was really nice today. There were some really nice lines. It's to bad there were a lot of people.
  7. I can go up hill on a snowboard, especially when i'm unstrapped because i'm on the lift.
  8. I want to see another american win, it seems like every one is talking about Bode. People need to realize that we have other racers too.
  9. I believe on monday both rocket and asp were ungroomed, but only asp had real bumps.
  10. Aluminum might be too soft, but I can't be worse that pvc. It sounds like a good idea as long as the flashing is thick enough. Flashing is fairly thin sheet metal that is used to keep water out of things like where you roof meets the chimney or dormer or stuff like that. I think it usualy comes in about 1ft wide rolls and is reletivly inexpensive.
  11. We got about 6" overnight, I wasn't there for first tracks but I bet they were awesome. The conditions were great all morning with really nice packed powder. The crowds were not bad for a sunday, but were starting to pick up when I left. Asp, Rocket, Marjie's, Big Pocono, Pharow, and Cliffhanger were ungroomed. Asp was bumped and really fun. The other diamonds were kind of blown off at the top. It was a great day to be skiing.
  12. I think this is what they're talking about. (except the screw would go all the way down.) (I have cad software but i'm lazy, but MSpaint gets the point across.) LineSki's idea would probaly work even better.
  13. I thought that the conditions on thursday were slow, but that could have been from the wrong temperature wax, and the blown snow was a little harder than I like, but compared to earlier this week the conditions are great. I just happy there is snow again and it is cold so I really shouldn't complain.
  14. Was there an option jump in rodo? I thought I saw one but didn't check it out.
  15. I'm defenatley interested, I just have to make sure I have nothing else already going on. We need to get a group organized soon so we know who's going and can register and stuff. For donations, I think we can setup online donation pages though their website, which would be great since this is a web based community. I think this is a great thing for PASR to be involved in.
  16. It should be getting better by tomorrow, I'll have a second hand report later in the evening, but hopefuly someone will have a good report on tonight's conditions.
  17. I left after a few runs tonight too. I didn't like the way the granular held an edge, and the blacks were ice. They only had 2 blacks open and half the Mt was closed. It was rideable, but you would have to ski conservatively, which I wasn't in the mood for. I had a bad feeling about the day when on my first run I'm carving, then all of a sudden, my board is no longer underneath me and I'm sliding on my side. But they should be able to make snow this week and make it all better.
  18. That can't be it. I was up there today but didn't read this until I got back, I'll have to look the next time I go up, but I probably remember after I pass it. So are you going to tell us?
  19. Asp looked really fun tonight. It looked like it could have had some great rhythm. unfortunately it was closed so I couldn't ride it.
  20. I would like them to play some faster punk, something with some metal influence. Pennywise would be great to play. And some nofx and other stuff like that. I'd even put up with a little rap, but nothing poppy. I'm not sure which is worse, max 106.3 they played last year or the disco this year. Someone should bring this up on CB's board.
  21. It was a fun night. The snow was realy good all night, and I met a lot of people.
  22. Sounds like a nice place. I'll have to get up there this season.
  23. I wish I stayed longer, I left just before it opened. That would have been awesome to get first tracks on my first and last runs. The conditions were really good today. Hopefully they stay that way for a while.
  24. I have the day off from school to day so I was at CB from a little after 8:00 until 12:30. The snow today was firm, but it held an edge so nice. It was mostly a very shallow layer of loose granular with nice grippy snow underneath. I don't think its supposed to warm up much so the snow should stay good for this afternoon. They were also blowing snow on the top of Mark Antony and a couple other spots. I spent pretty much the whole morning carving down the blacks. Unfortunately they only had the Bailey and Mark Anthony lifts open until just before 11:00AM, and they run so slow. The east side of the mountain was not open this morning but I just heard the they have it open now. Over all today was a great day to be skiing.
  25. Mt Creek has a form to fill out to send them e-mail. http://www.mountaincreek.com/contactus/index.htm Out of what you have so far, Safety and Less liability are very good points. Some other things to consider would probably be: Guest Experience (someone already mentioned) Allow for more progression ( probably already mentioned ) Encourage people to learn in a safer enviroment before moving to bigger stuff Control excessive crowds ( maybe tied into Safety ) Keep the features in better shape. I'll try to think of some more.
