no, bear creek didn't blow (at least from what i could tell)....i also don't think elk blew at all either (even if they probably had the best temps to blow).
I guess I was a bit vague with my comment, lol.....I was referring specifically to making and constructing the rails, boxes, walls, etc. I see your points about snow features...those should be a bit less complex to actually build...
nope....it's a private, gated community. the golf course there is really nice, i think they have a banquet facility there as well....but i'd speculate they make most of their money from the golf course and association fees.
more power to them if they have the cash to keep the ski hill up and running. there used to be another, albeit smaller, hill really close to my parent's house way back in the day called beach mountain lakes. they had one lift and two trails. we used to go sledding there. it too, was private access only. it closed down decades ago. I hope eagle rock doesn't bite the dust like beach mtn did.
that's some pretty complicated geometry to construct....lots more manhours to lay out and build than more regular/simpler geometric shapes. all boils down to $$$, doesn't it?
got a pair of zipfit worldcup se liners to replace my stock liners (which bit the dust). def spent a lot of time in them the past couple of days trying to break them in. so far they feel awesome....kinda like wearing fuzzy slippers in your ski boots, lol. they also give a very uniform connection between the foot and the inside of the shell. can't wait to get on the slopes!
it helps that eagle rock is a private community....keeps the riff-raff outta there. h-town is a dump....while the surrounding little villages and townships aren't bad, they still suffer greatly.
pc, i'm really puzzled as to why you don't consider bc's base lodge a base lodge? yes it's fancy, yes it's connected to the spa and the hotel....but how's that different than places out west? I def consider it a base lodge.
really? have you been to bear creek lately? just sayin'. also, I grew up in hazleton...and I can assure you that there is nothing nice in that town (anymore)....lol.
ditto...that's why we opted for the 6 pack pass....$240 for both of us. also, we didn't break even on our bc pass last season b/c we skied at a lot of other places....
