sjb269 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Share Posted December 30, 2010 I skied up at Sno mtn yesterday after coming back from the parents in Harrisburg. I was hoping to see a full park settup. Unfortunately what I saw jump wise was the biggest joke I have seen since like 95' in the world of terrain parks. The jumps were the most hilarious things i have ever seen. Did anyone that actually know how to hit jumps see these things. This really disappoints me as I bought a pass at sno and like to split my time 50/50 between park and all mtn. skiing. Who if anyone is in charge of the park and what the hell are they doing? I would love to hear feedback on what the deal is with the park at sno. It was promising when they paid Planet a few years back, now it looks like they just gave up! I will post pictures of the jumps so you guys can laugh tomorrow when im up there. I skiied at ski roundtop outside of Harrisburg a few days earlier. This mountain has 500' vertical and is 2 hours south of sno. I would love to discuss all the problems with the park, but I am not the one to argue. All I want to say is, next year higher someone who actually knows what their doing in the park if you want that small percentage of people who ride park to keep coming back to the mountain. riderossi Posted December 31, 2010 Report Share Posted December 31, 2010 Well I'll play Devils Advocate here... When there were larger wedge jumps last year about 1 in 20 people actually hit them. Why not cater to the majority and produce smaller jumps? Those mounds of snow can't quite be called jumps however... The "wedge" further down Spike looks like it would launch you vertically. razler420 Posted January 1, 2011 Report Share Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) i work on park crew at sno mt and were doin are best up ther trust me we just dont have the right people too groom or to make awesome jumps and everything we try too do gets shut down by the people who run the mt they dont care about the park thats why is the way it is.. the park will be better in like a month thats when they start caring about the park and making sno on it i know it sucks but if you wanna ride awesome shit just go too boulder,blue or camel back. Santa Clauss Posted January 5, 2011 Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Yea razz, I know first hand... as I'm sure you've already been silenced by management, the truth isn't the right thing to say when they are paying you, park crew is a privilege.. I wasn't gonna say anything but the hand work was absolutely horrendous when I went up all 3 times. I just assumed they had one crew on at the morning or something, It shouldn't have 2' bombed out landings by 6:00pm I liked planet, the guys were pretty cool. But sno mtn probably wasn't ready for them. Id really love to see them to start to plant trees on skiers right of spike, like pine trees, something to block the wind.. they widened the freeken trail and will never need it that wide unless... nope, they'll never need it that wide again... Once again, I noticed the trail that the "park" is supposed to be on has not been blown on all week. They could have blown enough snow over the course of the week to have jumps built. It looks like they dont even care about the terrain park aspect of the mountain. If anybody is on here from the "park" crew, please talk to your superviser and get something started here. I would think people that are in the park crew would want the park to be nice and have some pride in the shit they built. At this point, you need to shut that trail down for a week and blast the shit out of it to get a good base. Build the 3 or 4 jump jumpline and put in rails between the jumps so that everything flows together nicely. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BIATCHES!!!! Myself and others that had hope for sno this year are giving up after this season if things dont turn around and turn around quickly. Peace! riderossi Posted January 8, 2011 Report Share Posted January 8, 2011 Mainline has been closed for days for blowing but it is open now. Spike can't be an easy trail to blow on with all those trees gone. Take a ride down spike and check out all the trees that are iced up/ branches that are fallen from the wind blowing the snow they are trying to make into the woods. Now that Mainline is back open ( along with the rest of the mountain) I could see them closing Spike and putting some mobiles in there to get some more snow. The Couple of park guys are bitching about the parks but the hundreds of people that come on the weekends certainly aren't bitching that the trails are all open.
