  1. Update: got in, line actually started moving well once they brought more that one person out to check people in. Got in about 1430. Different setup this year. No tables, well, about a half dozen standup cocktail tables. Setup more as a mingle than a cafeteria. All these old people probably hate it because there's no chairs. Different food stations instead of one buffet line. Small bites, everything is really good. Raffles starting now.
  2. I read everything. Good TR. Way to get after it. 51 runs is legit no matter what the terrain is.
  3. First update: I have no idea how the party is. It's 10 after 2 and I'm in line to get in all the way back in the Last Run Lounge. Hope I get in before it's over.
  4. TL:DR: Dude showed up so early to ski one green run he had to wait 30 minutes for first chair. Dude skied said green run for 8 hours, making 51 runs including pizza turns and a yard sale. Dude and Juice Bags had lots of free hot chocolate, didn't even have to share it with his daughters. Couple of people managed to hurt themselves on one green run and had to get tobogganed off.
  5. Midway cookies dissolved into sandy sugary piles sometime between your departure and my first run just after noon. Actually enjoyed skiing them but only did five runs and currently de-booting in the lot before heading back in for the pass holder deal. Dodging people on Midway is the order of the day. Looks like lots of people on there that probably should have thought twice. Better skiers than I probably saying the same thing about me though. Line for the Vista lift is a clusterfuck, at a couple points it was running up and across the trail onto Come Around, blocking the whole trail. Geniuses.
  6. Since someone asked where the pics were from last week . . . https://vimeo.com/245552881
  7. Yeah, snow doesn't move around very much when there's not enough pitch to make anyone turn.
  8. Yeah, that elbow is also gonna be prime people watching. Post pics and vids for sure
  9. They continually hide their closing information as long as they can as well, presumably so that hotel guests won't cancel while they can still get refunds. Just about every advertisement they place on social media for their passes references the cheapest possible (child's) price with no mention of "starting at" or that it is not the everyone price. Even their opening announcement of one white ribbon of death was preceded by a video full of all-mountain skiing. Sure no one here thought that was their situation by any stretch, but there are a lot of gapers out there that have no clue. Again, I'm probably the Camel's second biggest fan on here now that you'er here, but the place sure seems to be run by dirtbags.
  10. I was just coming here to post the same screenshot. What a shit show it's going to be with everyone having to funnel in there to that lift. Tough to gauge how wide it is from this angle, but it can't be that wide. I almost want to go up there to watch it. Might be more entertaining than actually skiing at Blue. I would actually consider going up there, taking a run, watching the show and then heading to Blue after exercising the "WTF were you thinking opening today" guarantee to get a cheaper ticket for later in the season. But with the limited terrain open at Blue don't want to miss good runs there before the conditions turn.
  11. Every time I've skied the Camel Cliffhanger has been edge to edge moguls. I always assumed that's why the double black rating
  12. Never underestimate Camelback's ability or willingness to intentionally obfuscate the details of a situation when ambiguity of said details is financially adventageous to Camelback..
  13. I think their coverage is going to be very thin in spots. They're listing the base as 8-24 inches. I suspect a dude wrote that report. Seems like a good opportunity to turn a $25 ticket into a $50+ ticket tho. Of course, they'll probably only issue a midweek ticket or a $25 gift card due to the reduced rate
  14. Don't count your turns before your pipes burst. Just sayin'.
  15. Your Friday gon be so much better now, lol
  16. I was trying to find one of the messages on their Facebook page where they were saying that they were glad that other mountains were able to open but they wanted to make sure they weren't opening with just a few trails so I could post this:
  17. Heard the earthquake broke a main pipe at Camelback and now they won't be able to open on Saturday like they planned.
  18. Snowmakers blog says they're hoping for Upper Main
  19. You're screwed. Cable guys suck.
  20. I'll be hitting the party after skiing. 40+ door prizes, might as well see what's up
  21. Maybe for a quick few runs Saturday morning, definite for Sunday. Everyone RSVP for the pass holder party Sunday afternoon? Deadline is today, I think like 5 pm
  22. There are some guns on right now. Valley cam shows some blowing in from the right, and something blowing up above Frontier. Tubing cam shows gun above Frontier clearly. Main St cam looks like some guns on on Upper Main St
