  1. 7 sirens brewing has decided to go against any governor Wolf mandates.  Wolf goes on mandates with Dr Levine hehehehe

One of the owners friended me on FB last year and it’s been even more of a turn off then the brewery social media. I’d rather give my money to Lost, Bonn, or McCalls.

  2. More back on topic, how are you guys feeling about Christmas with the fam?  I for one aint feeling real good about it.

Probably not going to happen for me. I’m in contact with a lot of people at work so I don’t want to be the spreader. Plus my wife works at a senior care home so we’re trying to limit exposure. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

    Sorry, bad Alanis joke

  3. I have an online square checkout. should I not?

Take it to the credit card thread.

When we went online only for April and May, our online merchant took 2% of total sales. Doesn’t sound like a lot but when profit is 20-25%, it’s noticeable. Build the online fee into profit margin or by service fee and then it’s no problem.

  4. Back when we first had restrictions, limited knowledge and very limited resources we were able to get numbers down...Now with less restrictions, better knowledge and resources the numbers are up.....

I agree with all that but didn’t all schools closed for the spring semester? We had most schools open this fall. With all the knowledge I still don’t see the majority of people wearing a mask properly. I keep getting customers that pull their mask down to talk to me [emoji20]

  5. Crawford County, the county to the Northwest of Venango seems to be the culprit for the strange lines.
In March 1829 the county was defined as:

Beginning at the N. E. corner of a tract in the name of James Gibson on the line of Erie county, being the N. E. corner of [Cussewago Twp.]; thence south to the S. E. corner of a tract in the name of E. Spencer; thence east to the N. E. corner of Thomas Campbell's tract, on French Creek; thence across said Creek to the N. W. corner of A. Humes' tract; thence east along the north line of said tract and F. Rasburg's to the N. E. corner of the last; thence south to the N. W. corner of P. Eck's; thence E. to the N. E. corner of a tract in the name of G. Eck; thence north to the south line of a tract in the name of Israel Israel; thence east, north and west by the lines of sundry tracts to the S. E. corner of a tract in the name of N. Pryer or Ralph Snow; thence north to French Creek; thence across the same to the S. W. corner of a tract in the name of William McArthur's heirs; thence north by the same and donation land to the Erie County line; thence west by the said line to the place of beginning.

Looks like they were taking into account tracts of land along the border.

Thank you for saving me the time. Nice find!
  6. Anybody been to any weddings lately. A couple in Ohio open up about their wedding that led to a superspreader event.

Had 2 weddings in the past month. My wife and I were the only ones with masks at the one a couple weeks ago. Employees at the venue started with masks and by the end of the night they turned into chin diapers. Other one this past Saturday was way better. Everyone had masks except when drinking.

I also had my first employee test positive today. They had a funeral prior to coming to work with a cough and was sent home right away. Tried to blame it on allergies but glad we made them get a test. Took 6 days to get the positive result.
  7. Our school district just announced they will be 100% remote learning until at least January. They said they can no longer handle schools on an individual basis. They were really trying to keep k-2 in person as studies have shown that age bracket does the worst with remote learning.

My son’s lung collapsed again and he had the surgery to fuse it to his chest wall yesterday and is now in ICU. Now I am just really concerned about COVID for him. I have been careful myself, but now I feel I should up my game even more since he is in my bubble.

I hope everything goes well with you son! Stay positive and test negative. We’ll get through this.

  8. Did you all see that there's a lawsuit for Vail/Epic refusing a refund. I see both sides but it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Well, today, Ikon sent an email and shifted their marketing campaigns. I get it. Everyone is hyper communicating but I wish they thought through the communication.
    • There's no email personalization like a  simple name or greeting in the line.
    • Would be cool to have personalization tied to my ski stats and worked it into the email copy.
    • There's no link to sign up or to be reminded in the future.
    • There's no FAQ linked to it. For examples,
      • Pass insurance won't cover COVID-19 closures so they don't address what they would do if there's no season. They really only mention a payment plan.
      • Would they offer the discount to people who already paid for their pass?
There's so many unknowns, I get it. But, I wish these blanket emails were crafty more thoughtfully. Here's the copy for anyone interested.

  9. Wow I think that is incredibly fair. Way more than I would have expected them to do. Good on then my for doing that.

“Good on them” only took a lawsuit to come about. I should see some money at least.3a082ac007690d8e222bc2938a1a8105.jpg

  10. I think alot of people including myself didnt take this serious enough at first.  There are some things going on at work that i strongly disagree with, and i feel like i am becoming wildly unpopular at work.  All of this social distancing will lead to my yard getting all picked up, the second bathroom being un-wallpapered and painted, old shit around the house thrown out, and all of the "tidying up" of the house that i have pushed off during ski season, and of course i can still play cars.  People with not enough to do lack vision.

In my area yes, about 35-40% cash. It’s interesting to see the other store in the “city” and it’s about 10% less.
  11. A lot of folks are doing all the normal stuff. That’s why we’re fucked.  I notice it’s mostly older or younger people who don’t care.  Of course based on my inferences I had to hit google to see if anybody else thought the same thing.

i felt kind of dirty turning an old man away at my work earlier..gave him a brochure and business card and he had question after question and had to be short with him...the old are clueless or don’t care..

We went to curbside orders only through our app or website and the cash only culture is suffering. Some don’t even have a computer or smart phone.
  12. Can you be classified as essential? Don't you distribute bottled water?

Still trying to get confirmation but we believe we are essential with food and water. Worst case we will hopefully be delivery or curbside pick up. Talked to our neighbor the State Stores and they will be closing.
