When this all started I built some shelves, bought a desk, and made a proper office in my guest room. Having a dedicated office makes a huge difference in productivity and being able to separate home and work life. I try to go for one walk a day around lunch. And, any conference calls that I just listen to, I try to be outside as much as possible. It breaks up the monotony.

it's all so neat and tidy lmao my wife would kill for my shit to look like that.

I feel bad for office manager while she’s been working from home her electric bill is high and for the first time our electric bill at work was under $100 due to lights out and also office managers computer not in use here 7 hours a day.  Office manager is saving a lot of money on gas

there's no reason a computer or some lights are going to increase it dramatically. if she's using an electric heater in her workspace, that's a different story.

  3. if you end up wfh for some time from here on out, remember there are tax benefits - provided your home office isn't a kitchen table or your bed. i'm not sure if it's applicable for a portion of the year or not (or if any amount during the year qualifies). it's something to keep in mind for next year. i write off a ton of stuff, percentage of my house used for office, utilities, other expenses (think of your computer if it wasn't provided by the employer, the physical phone you use, any installations to wire your work area, etc).

depending on your employer/employee relationship, consider asking them to supplement utilities (internet / phone) if you can highlight that your wfh saves them money in the long run.

as an employer though, i'd be skeptical of any employee with a child under school age in the home - or working from a sofa - to be even remotely as productive as they would be in an office, that's just my opinion. it really depends on the job. some employers are paying you for your time, some are employing you to just take care of whatever your tasks are.

our employer is confident enough with wfh now that it's basically set in stone for everyone into perpetuity. when the next actual physical 'meeting' will be is anyone's guess and it would likely be something 'social' with some work talk peppered in rather than an actual business meeting.

Regardless, this has been a good trend for PA and it appears that early intervention and restrictions have definitely had a positive impact while many states continue to see a rise in numbers. Can't wait for the pre-season party with you all!

don't forget about blue's postponed season passholder party.

Just the opposite. Cooler temps would be better.

Right, but I was wondering if it being softer because of the temps that it would help it to 'settle'. If it was 85 and that guy came in it'd be much softer and worse.

Texted the asphalt guy. He's asked for pics. So I sent... Says it'll go away in a few days. Doug I may take you up on your cones.

I don't know anything about asphalt but maybe upcoming 85+ temps might help.

Edit: I'd still send a msg to amzn. They toss out money for nothing. Tell them you want a year of prime.

I probably need to do this now since the freaking Amazon delivery truck decided to pull up into our new driveway (when no one was home) and do a mother f'ing k turn leaving fresh tracks. Ugh!!!! I should've left the damn tape up.

they are always polite but they are hands down the worst drivers ever, it's probably 90% of the time they can't back out of the driveway so i just tell them to do a 3pt turn in the yard. i don't understand how 50% of one's job is to drive but they can be so bad at it.

No, its still data driven and not set in stone. From what I've heard it seems that if there is a significant bump in cases it will be held for those counties. But as of right now, based on the current trends, those counties will be ready to open.

Its the same thing leaders have done at the start of this. Drag people a long bit by bit. If Donald and governors would have said "we will need aggressive social distancing for 2+ months" people would have blew their load. Every two weeks it was extended and over the last few weeks things have been opening up or whatever that means.

ok, that makes a little more sense (if bump, things may change).

i guess i could have better phrased it as: originally we had concrete rules, now it's a little more relaxed, i wonder why.

of course, i got a work call at 3:58 and couldn't get to it/edit in time.

Has anyone tried to get rid of Groundhog? Do you have any tips?

try cayenne pepper. now that it's warmer out he or she may decide to go elsewhere rather than staying hunkered down for winter.

Which Country Junction are you guys talking about? I thought most turned into just furniture stores?

209 in lehighton. they did just double the already massive footprint and added an ashley furniture (among other changes to the inside including a huge gameroom).

The temp check is the new normal.  Is country junction even considered essential?

it's a tourist trap but yeah, they really do have almost everything you could imagine (the only thing that comes to mind is that they dont have deli).

tons of food. they also have an Ace hardware inside of it, so that essential component is there also.

OK Karen why don’t you enforce the parking.

are you going to start overusing ok karen now the same way you've driven ok boomer into the ground? people killed that meme way too fast for its potential.

covid related - country junction just forced my wife to get a temp check before entering.

    completely shitted up like Beltzville.

i can't wait to see how crowded it still gets. why they never enforce the parking along bv road i dont understand. for anyone not familiar, look at the normal amount of parking with google satellite. it's an unbelievable amount. on memorial day it overflows onto the road coming into it and, even though there are signs saying no parking, people park at least a qtr mile deep along it. if the weather forecast holds up, it'll be madness.

Can you go as fast as you want at Pocono? My Sonic can go over 100 mph and I want to drive fast.

for the fundraisers? i doubt it.

i guess you technically can go as fast as you want once you have access to the track, expect to leave in handcuffs though.

The more i think about this, the more i get kind of jealous of @RidgeRacer.  I would so love to take a spin around that track in one of my cars, just to say i did it.  I do think they have open track time, but still, the graduation thing is pretty cool.

keep an ear open. they occasionally have fundraisers where you pay $10 (or more if you want) and you can drive around. not sure if you have a motorcycle but they do it for them too. this year everything is jacked up tho. its a little pricey but people highly recommend the sc racing experience if you want to go fast.
