  1. yeah i remember that pic, was very nuts considering the amount of space you have to get enough speed to do the whole thing
  2. yeah their conditions were OK when i went last saturday, some bare spots on lazy mile and midway, but overall good conditions for like 60 degrees. the snow started to melt in the afternoon, the lift hill was literally a puddle at the quad...
  3. yea those rails were quite big for blue....i killed myself on that kink rail
  4. hmm no precipitation AT ALL in philly, god i want to get out of the city very badly

    RAIN!!!!!

blue was really mushy and spring like on saturday, like that sand snow going on that kills your leg muscles. it got pretty hot, at the lift hill for the lift right in front of sidewinder, there was a big puddle of water
  6. yes wood cores and moisture DO NOT mix well......that thing will break, my friend's broke in half while he was on a rail and nutted himself...talk about bad luck.

    Snowboard boots

yea, if you can try to get a wide, but i have size 10 boots in medium burton bindings and ride a 149 and have no problems....
  8. i live in philly, i mean i actually live in philly, the city of philadelphia.....
  9. ride my bike there, i live in philly thats close to an hour drive to blue, i would either be dead from riding on the turnpike or i would be so tired by the time i get there that i would have no energy to ride. theres a bus that goes to blue, but the stop is about 2 hours away, so that makes it quite pointless. god how i hate living in philly

    Snowboard boots

i got my judge's from thehouse.com, but i tried them on at g-spot skate and snow right by the oxford valley mall, but yea usually skate shops carry dc boots, try them, but usually they jack up the prices, g-spot were selling them for $260, i can get them online for $240, so try them on then order them online.
  11. elk is amazing. THE best freeriding place in PA, period. I went there last year around feburary, mostly open, the trails were great. like atomic said, there are no lights or tower guns or anything - just you and the mountain. even though they are a little slow on snowmaking and there are minimal lighted trails, their quality makes up for that. besides, i rarely go night riding anyway. the lifts are a bit slow, but you have to remember, the runs are much longer so its worth the wait, its not like you wait 10 minutes on the lift and you go down a run that lasts 2 minutes. im trying to go this season but i dont know with all if this rain and warm weather, its crazy. oh and for their park, i didn't even venture into those waters - i just had a feeling it would be bad....

    Snowboard boots

no not really, i mean sometimes the laces loosen a little bit (just like normal laces), but i had no problems so far with the wheel loosening, but i always have my tool with me just in case something happens.
  13. gah at blue there were these two skiing rangers that practically followed me around all day, first i got caught speeding on burma (i wasn't paying attention and i mised the turn for midway), then they yell at me for "being inconciderate" on sidewinder, i was coming off the second jump, well the first jump after that stupid drop down rail, anyway i cleared it and was going pretty fast, and this old skiier was just standing about 10 feet from the landing just staring at me, and i kinda sprayed him and almost hit him so they almost punched my ticket but i got out of it. why these people go down sidewinder when they just ride off the side of jumps i don't know, it seems quite pointless.
  14. those tickets they put on jackets are stupid, they are always the weekday/non-holiday tickets, i have one that i never used from my jacket i bought this year because im in school and have no ride to the mountain after school you can get tickets at langhorne ski and sport, don't know how much they cost though.

    Snowboard boots

nestors would probably have the best selection and price, but i don't deal with that i just order online (but usually i try them on in a store, i know a lot of these places jack up the price)

    P-tex burning?

basically, im guessing the glue guns use the electricity from the wires to heat the element (which in this case is metal) so basically you would need to generate a lot more electricity to be able to melt the p-tex. the main problem i see is that with the amount of power you put in the gun, you might set fire to your face, hands, and clothing, or your house, i mean for the risk i would rather pay $200 for a p-tex gun then pay thousands for repairs to your house/body (insurance only covers so much, i mean if they found out you set fire to your house from using a suped up glue gun, they would laugh in your face), or hey you could always take it to a shop and get it repaired by professionals for even cheaper, i mean i would rather do that then going McGuyver on a hot glue gun :

definatly the best boots i ever rode are my DC Judge's. 1. they have the BOA lacing system, which i think is great. it takes 2 seconds to put them on, and are super easy to adjust on the hill, plus you can take them off in a second too, and the laces are made of titanium, so you never have to worry about them breaking or ripping from the lift or stuff like that. 2. they have the DC Air, Gel, and Heat Liner, which is extremely comfy. it has an air bladder in the ankle, and a pump on the top, so the fit is great, plus there is gel in the heel, ankle, toe, and tounge areas of the liner, and there is the Heat Factory thing under the toe (its the things where you buy those heat pads and it slips in the tounge) basically i can go all day with these things on and never feel any pain at all, no blisters, cuts, any of that crap. 3. Overall, these things are great. I've rode them hard this season, between riding blue every weekend (saturday and sunday) and riding up in whistler earlier in december, these things hold up great. they are a little more expensive ($230), but i definatly think it was worth it for the fit and features of the boot.
  19. my guess is it will be just another trail, possibly a connector between razors edge and paradise, at least thats where i think its going to be built, i could be wrong.
  20. well i figure that blue should be not too crowded until noon or so, i mean who the hell goes skiing or riding at 7:30 in the morning after those big parties on new years eve
  21. yeah, it shouldn't be too crazy, i figure around noon to 3ish should be the worst, then after that it'll die down like it always does every new year....
  22. hey, with all that natural beautiful awesome runs, i wouldn't need a park
  23. yeah, what were you thinking atomic
  24. hmmm, well im going up to blue at opening (7:30 AM) and staying until noonish when it gets crowded, but then im coming back later and riding until closing, so how about this, if your going to be up at blue then post when and we can all schedule a meeting place and time.
  25. Well, with all of this playing hide and seek with trying to find PASR members, why don't we actually have a meeting place, its like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So, lets say Saturday 6PM at the Summit Lodge? If your going to be there then just post in this thread (also those times /meeting place can change if need be...).
