What does "surpirsed" mean?

Farmers almanac Just remember that i think all long range forecasts are pretty much BS. People think they can predict a season when they cant accurately predict 3 days out. Fun fact - models lose 10% accuracy for every day in the future. so a forecast 3 days out is only about 70% accurate.

My Aunt years ago shared with me how much it costs per month to park her car in a garage in NY. It was more than my mortgage. Back on topic, i really dont think i am getting any new gear this year. Looking forward to about a month when i can shut the A/C off. its all down hill from there.

Big boulder for blue mt pricing.
-
Jfbb announced some pricing in “limited quantities.” If im not mistaken this is $10 + higher than last year if memory serves me correct. Interesting they have these prices posted before the sale goes through.

I just read that Saturday was the last day with a sunset after 8 pm, until like May 20th. Just the stupid fact for the day. Continue on with your blessed day.

I fly out of phl. Use the same lot always for my car. Its so simple. If i ever fly out of a different airport it wont be because i saved some money.

After selling all my waverunners, boats, and my fishing stuff tucked away in the attic growing dust, i feel the same about the beach. Go take a swim, thats cool, but sit on the beach in the blazing sun? No thanks.

Holy fuck is it raining.

i watched it on TV, it looked like the grandstands were pretty full, which is intriguing, because, like you said, its not the best race to go to. you just cant see all of the track. i can literally ride my quad from my house to the racetrack, but i havent gone to the race in a few years. if someone offered me some pit passes, i would definitely go. if someone offered me their ticket to the grandstands, i would probably decline. if a bunch of my buddies were going, i would go.

Not for nothin', Pocono can be a good time, but if you want to see a great race, go to Dover. How they dont kill themselves on a track like that is beyond me. Some people might find Pocono kind of boring in the grandstands, since the track is so big. Getting in and out of Pocono is pretty good, they have that figured out. Dover is a nightmare to get out of, even if you tailgate for a few hours afterwards.

That day was great!. up until then of course.....

Epic day. Not Epic pass. That day was like a Unicorn though. Havent seen many Unicorns since then. I can tell you with the utmost amount of certainty though, that day topped any day i ever skied at Frost. And at that point, i was still a JFBB season pass holder.

Yeah, maybe, but really they start making snow when it gets cold, just like everybody else....its really just the fact that they can open Freedom with like 24 hrs of snowmaking. My guess is, they would continue to do this, however, i think they would look a little more into the future weather, like they might not make snow if it was just going to be cold enough, long enough to get Freedom open, but then days of above freezing temps. basically, they might not be as into just getting that trail open as BB was before. But in the long run, i doubt very much that Vail cares about BB's clain of first to open, last to close. It will also be interesting to see how they incorporate opening JF after BB, or vice-versa. I cant really remember, but i dont think they were super early with Okemo snowmaking, ie competing with Killington's early season push.

I read elsewhere that Vails business model is to up daily prices to get people to buy the Epic pass. Should be interesting to see if thats the case.

Back on topic, since camelback still sucks and Saltyant will lick anybodys balls that likes camelback. nothing new here. Will there be a very Vail presence at JFBB? Will they put the 15 million into upgrades they were quoted on? Takes alot of dirt to make them taller. Will day pass prices go up at the new Vail resorts? Will they remember to negotiate with PPL about their electric rates? Will Blue raise day pass prices if they do? I mean, when in Rome......
-
Valid points, i would ski JF before camelback pretty much any day. But, lately the fun stuff hasnt been well maintained, or gotten as much attention in the snowmaking department, even though all that is blow over. I think it was my last year there that i was clearing shit out of the E glade to make it skiable. But, like you eluded to, if theres minimal coverage in the woods, its kind of...meh. If they get a huge dump, you probably have the place to yourself on a weekday, but getting around can be hard. Trees can be rewarding though.

I'm all for less crowds at Blue, but i dont think JFBB will see an overwhelming increase at all. I sort of think we already covered this. The average every weekend skier with an occasional trip out west will not leave Blue/CB to go ski Frost every weekend so they can go ski 2 days at Breck on the Epic pass. The average Joe that might buy 3-5 day passes at Blue/Toe/JFBB etc that wants to ski some resorts north or west, and is content with skiing the resorts on the pass, this is really who i see buying this. Not everyone lets their skiing experience be dictated by whats on this pass or that pass. I could probably make use of the epic pass, i am particularly interested in CB this year, and there are some others that i might go to, but they arent tops on my list. It would take a power outage at Blue or some other act of God to skip Blue for JFBB.....maybe night skiing at Boulder with just the right conditions, like new snow, and free cookies or something. Keep in mind, i was a passholder at JFBB when i the late season pass sale thing.....i never went back that year. Blue has its issues too, dont get me wrong, but there is a point when you have to admit JFBB bores your face off.

Hot cocoas for both of them then!
