  1. I wouldnt go that far.....i think Killington at least be able to keep their version of Freedom up and running. Even if the pattern of cold, warm, rain, cold continues, it only takes them a few hours to blow some shit on it and call it open. Remember what Jlaw said, eventually it has to get cold, and we are moving in that direction. overnight temps are looking a little better for us towards the end of the month, but it looks like we could still be fighting some higher than average daytime temps as well.
  2. Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the start of snowmaking at Blue and BB for 2014/2015 Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
  3. Whiteface has begun snowmaking.

  6. February in the Poconos is gonna rock.
  7. I give it about a 1% Chance for Boulder to open Black Friday. Your second sentence is what people may want to start warming up to. Making snow with sno-cone machines is the only way they will be able to pull that off. Wishcasting on the highest level. I will be cutting my lawn on Black Friday.
  8. I have however seen several sources that say something will happen with something somewhere.
  9. PC and i had a great day there.....the day we invented the U2 cover band Beautiful Independence.
  10. http://www.sugarbush.com/plan/deals/ I would say this would be your best deal if you really plan on skiing between Christmas and New Years. When i skied Sugarbush, they had a deal if you had a season pass at another resort. $50. Not sure if they still do that, i had to dig around their website for quite a while before i found that. Hit up ?Ride-DE?, i bet he gets discount tix for patrolling.
  11. Utah is early Feb, but you wouldnt have to twist my arm too hard to go to Vermont.
  12. Cause you are gonna have to drive somewhere besides the poconos to get on the snow in November. Sorry i didnt make that clearer for you.
  13. im gonna hold off getting skis tuned, getting out stowed gear, etc. i am hoping my unprepared-ness makes it turn cold. Anyone wanna carpool for some turns in November? i think that will be the only way to get on the snow in November.
  14. no silly.....its like driving to Vermont but without the skiing.
  15. i give a November opening in PA about a 3% chance. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, or the Danny downer, Negative Nathan etc.......i dont like to wish for things that arent going to come true. i'm ok with being wrong on this. Like i said before, if we are skiing in November at Blue, i will bring the leftover Champ from last years end of season party.
  16. i think passholders only this weekend. Beyond that, i think they are waiting for it to get cold again.
  17. I'm pretty impressed they pulled it off. I know they have the equipment to do it, but they were really putting a lot of faith in the weather forecast.
  18. i didnt want to be the one to break POC's heart, but i really believe you are correct.
  19. put a nice fat ski or a snowboard on there and that would make one awesome spoiler.
  20. They did fire things up, and are making snow. or something that resembles snow. Good for them.
  21. I dont think they have started. From what i have been able to gather up on the information super highway, they think they will be able to start Saturday morning. I didnt see anything about snowmaking in the news yet. Looking at their forecast and tapping into my mediocre meteorological skills, i think its really on the borderline. Definitely not going to be super cold. again - using Pythagoras' theorem, we can predict the outcome.
