  1. I thought it was going at the summit over by the water park, but then they'd need to run shuttles down to the fishing pond...
  2. With the extended lodge now into where Explorers was, I don't think there's enough room there for anything. Don't know what they're going to do with school hill. May keep using it for specialized learning (moguls, freeski, etc.) classes.
  3. Gonna be down where the luge run was on other side of quad.
  4. Was looking for the lights on early this morning, but no joy...
  5. Right, it'll be over the summer when they put in the air/water lines and guns, but if we get enough natural like last year...
  6. Did you notice if they've even started cutting it yet?
  7. Indeed and the primary reason to get there right at opening to get in the high speed runs before the crowds show up. Then it's off to the runs where others don't like to tread...
  8. Depends on how long one's been married...
  9. If you stay around long enough, the skied off/bumped up trails are empty and afford the most fun!
  10. Mmmm... Tootsie Roll! Combinations Type 2 & Type 4 http://scdlifestyle.com/2014/04/pooping-101/
  11. Nice! Only one way to find out how they do in the bumps! Love my good ol' Prophets.

Been there many times with family and friends when kids were young, Great Vermont family/starter mountain for the kids, but as stated will get a bit boring quick if only adults skiing. Take the Sunburst Six first thing to the south face and lap that area until the late risers make their way there and the lift gets too crowded. There's nothing very steep out there, but you'll get a lot of runs in quick. If you're lucky, there won't be any races or practice and you can make some high-speed runs down World Cup and/or Chief. Typically the Sunburst lift was massive crowded and probably still will be, but it's being upgraded with heated bubbles, guess for the wussies that can't stand the cold. Yes, mid-day, hit the Waffle Shack for the sugar rush. Jackson Gore has some of the more interesting runs, for Okemo that is... White Lightning and Rolling Thunder they typically don't groom, so they can be fun. Don't miss going down Black Hole either. Towards the end of the day, since we stayed in Solitude, I'd end up just lapping the Solitude lift as it was empty at the end of the day. Ludlow is a nice little Vermont town with all sorts of shops and dining places. Killarney's is interesting and so it Pot Belly's. We've had some not so good experiences with Tacos Tacos, but YMMV. The nice thing about Okemo is that you're a stones-throw away from Killington, so if you get bored with Okemo just ride up and pick up the Skyship Gondola if you don't want to head all the way up to the resort. There's also snowmobiling on the way up to Killington, if you get the desire. The one we went on took you up a closed-down ski slope, nothing real great, just another fun thing to do with kids. Definitely not the steepest, technical, etc., but it's skiing and that beats working!
  13. Might want to head to a good boot fitter to get their opinion as to what can be done.
  14. Our Subaru has the EyeSight system that uses two cameras on either side of the rear-view mirror to perform adaptive cruise control magic, amongst other feats. It's a bit unnerving when you first use it, as you want to put your foot on the brake but then it kicks in and all is good. Unfortunately you still have to steer the car, but with driverless cars already out in road testing it won't be very long before they too are on the market.
  15. Y'all see this weather site? Should help in forecasting the microclimate at Blue... Click on 'earth' in lower left to change parameters. http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/500hPa/orthographic=-85.56,41.84,868
  16. There's another (longer) video on the site with many more sightings... http://www.wfmz.com/news/Regional-Poconos-Coal/skiers-snowboarders-head-to-the-slopes-one-last-time/25459686
  17. Truly an awesome year and closing weekend. Depression already setting in...
  18. Truly a SPECTACULAR day yesterday!! Kudos to Blue and especially the groomers for putting bumps on Sidewinder, Main Street and Razors! It was bump nirvana! Hoping they reseed them, as they were deep and a few bare spots showing through.

  20. Big liability without them operating. Blue will allow you to skin up the trails, but SP will stop you and ask to see ticket/pass which you have to have for liability.
