  1. If I had a gun to my head and had to change a tire I’d die. I’m actually the only person in my immediate family that checks tire pressure and adds air to the tires...the rest have it done by the attendant at a full service gas station. I’ve also never been able to tie a tie. I tried from YouTube videos and failed. Luckily I never wear a tie anymore. I haven’t worn one in 15 years. Sadly you can deduct the cost of a new window out of the employees paycheck. Off to a cemetery to do a rubbing, photo and measurements..now that’s something I can do and I can use a screwdriver. When I first started delivery driver asked me to hand him the Phillips and I said,”Huh”...lol
  2. The guy who cuts the grass at my work makes the equivalent of $25 an hour(he told me) but the kicker is he works 12 hour days and 7 days a week 6 months out of the year and in the winter gets a temp gig at the amazon warehouse. Millionaire next door he’s not but he makes a decent living.
  3. I used to mow the lawn at my parents house and the tombstone company. I don’t miss it at all.
  4. What would you have done??? Anyway sounds like some of the guys who work for you are a few fries short of a happy meal but most intelligent people aren’t out paving on 93 degree days.
  5. Well he can’t call ghostbusters with no phone.
  6. You’ll be gucci!!! I remember you did an 11+ hour day at Blue the true..that was badass!!
  7. I’ll never hate on any bodies job. Unless you’re really rich you either have to work or be homeless/on welfare. I sometimes envy those who are overnight stockers at Target or Costco..sure it’s lowish pay but also low stress!!!! New page whoop whoop
  8. I’ve been lucky that the last 14 years I’ve worked at the tombstone company business has always been good. Our worst year was about 70% as much business as our best year so things are pretty consistent. The fact that we have a solid network of dealers helps and also the fact that the business has been in existence since 1929. Not to toot my own horn but I’m a really good sales person. I’m good at creating value and urgency without being blatantly persuasive. I know one gentleman who has a franchise of 8 monument companies in Long Island/NYC and North Jersey. When he had one shop I’m sure he did well likely made very low 6 figures but he was hungry for more and bought up other monument companies and now he sells the most memorial stones of anybody in the northeast. He likely makes over $1 million a year in income/profit and is about 55 years old. He’s also from a rich family but work is his passion. He lives to work. I work to live. I couldn’t imagine opening franchises..that’s where major risk comes in and I already had my unsuccessful stint as a gambler...maybe I’m complacent but I like the way things are now. Off to karaoke. Ski season is soon. Sorry for the threadjack.
  9. We’re closed evenings and weekends. When you’re a business owner payday isn’t exciting it means the company checking account takes a hit. I just like that if business is good I make more money, I also like being able to come in an hour late if I’m super hungover..and some nice perks like company car and cell phone paid for. There is the pressure of not fucking up and having to sell enough to pay for my salary and employees salaries plus health insurance and all the other office and truck expenses. Like today we didn’t get any orders in the mail but I wrote thousands in checks. Luckily yesterday we sold a lot.
  10. Because they aren’t charging enough. Most people would be willing to pay more.
  11. Season pass holders add to the crowds since they sold thousands of passes..more than ever last season. They make plenty off season pass holders. Likely a couple million a year in extra cash flow
  12. Thanks..I think this community project he’s in charge of has put him over the edge and he’s sick of dealing with architects and hardscape guys and townships and stuff.
  13. When I have more money in the bank..business is up 15% this year so shouldn’t be long and I’d only live out west during the ski season which is our slow time of the year.
  14. I’m not investing in anything except my personal happiness.
  15. No the business is being gifted to me..my dad is 70 years old and we’ve been partners for the last 4 years that he’s been living in Virginia and he’s been up about 3 days a month since then mainly working on mausoleums and community projects. Between their savings, social security, part of my uncles business that my mom owns and rental property they don’t need any business income. They’re going to gift my sister money over the next several years as well to be fair.
  16. I sometimes wish season passes were a bit more to keep the crowds down.
  17. I fully take over the business January 1st...I’m gonna start my presidentency with taking a lot of time off to ski and giving myself a fat raise since I no longer have to split profits with my dad!!!
  18. And will you be able to ski on your lunch break at Six
  19. Wow lucky that would never happen with a black man like you.
  20. So fluffy didn’t do jail time never mind saw your post above.
  21. Feel free to PM them. I honestly don’t care. I like the current PASRs for all their quirks. Last season at blue was the best ski season in terms of the sheer number of PASR days. The season pass $399 deal really brought a lot of PASRs out the last third of the ski season.
  22. im sure he’s out by now and likely not hired back by JFBB.
  23. I believe there were some other charges as well as the stealing. Stealing more than $500 is a felony.
  24. Vinny got injured in a collision his last season at blue then he gained a bunch of weight and had a kid. Maybe he’ll get back into it and Melissa was mainly into skiing when she was living in Scranton and once she moved to philly she didn’t have a season pass anymore, she went to blue once or twice for gaper days and a trip to park city Utah then pretty much stopped skiing. For most skiing isn’t a lifelong sport. I didn’t scare Robert2 away. He was disabled and he stopped skiing an entire season due to a home remodel and then just disappeared.
