The beers in the upper lot are colder unless there’s an inversion or you’re one of those fancy pants skiers with a cooler. -
Hey All, I’m back from a fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. The temperature was in the 20s under overcast skies and there was even some frozen fog on the lower mountain some day attributed to the snowmaking cannons participating in operation Blizzard 3.0. In the house were Toast, Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Matt Edge, The Dude4Bides, Indiggio, Enjorales, Enjorales Dad, Slim, TP4, Root, VTMark, Gah Skier George, JFDan, MBike mike, Mrs Snowbunski, Antman, and many others. Opening bell meant some carpet like snow on vista to midway to lower Main Street. Upper Main Street was very very nice with some extra cushion for the pushing. Lower Main Street got rowdy fast..lazy mile was better than yesterday closer to packed powder..corners always fun especially with JLaw and Atomic Jeff on your ass..no homo. I did come around to chute once and come around had nice groomed snow and I made sure to check myself before I wrecked where SaltyAnt ate shit yesterday..ended session with more lazy miles..mostly Burma chairs since not much wait on that side. Blue was selling lots of tickets and race team is out in full force. Had some parking lot beers and then hit up the BMDI for breakfast food. Was well under $30 for three people including juice and fresh sausage..not bad... it looks like the six opens tomorrow at least what I heard through the rumor mill. JADIP

Blue definitely made some money today. The couple times I walked by the ticket window there was always a solid line 15-20+ people, more at 745am. Bear creek isn’t open yet and Elk opens Thursday. I don’t know about Jackson frost. -
How’s the coffee at Blue?

Hey All, I’m back from another early season day at Blue mountain the true mountain. The third weekend of Blue mountains ski season kicked off with a lot of snowmaking, new terrain and a lot of PASR in the house. In the house were Johnny Law, Phillycore, Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Ryan, Toast, PARidge Justo, Rose, GSSucks, Slim, Indiggio, Salty, Enjorales, Enjorales Dad, MBike mike, Mrs. Snowbunski, Nastar Glenn and many more. Another top lodge rip drop under overcast cloud cover with temperatures in the low 20s with light to moderate winds. Conditions were alright the usual some smooth some choppy..lazy mile a little rough lower down but at least I passed Salty on it and my consolation prize was getting to ride the lift with him. A good amount of people at blue some nice snow found on the side of midway due to blow over from a snowmaking cannon blasting on the run that connects midway to Burma..lots of snowmaking on the east side including tubing and falls and challenge and home stretch and tuts lane is ready... After skiing had some beers in the lot and stopped at Chic Fil A on the way home. I’ll be back at Blue mountain the true mountain ready to shred the gnar again. Should be another PASR day with NMSki and TP4 and Matt edge in the house..JADIP

I don’t think we had any sausage sundays last year until January.

Do an upper lot one this Sunday.

With this forecast Blue is gonna have most of the mountain open by next weekend. Probably paradise and challenge and some other runs.

I don’t think they cared cause it’s such a great mountain. Especially when Floyd’s is open. -

Where did you wait 30 minutes for tickets?? I remember Jack Frost big boulder used to make season pass holders go to the ticket window every day for a ticket but for more money you could go directly to the lift. Crazy. -

Also looks like the Burma side of the lift corral will be open. That can make a huge difference...the line on that side is usually half as long. A no brainer coming from Main Street and worth the skate across traffic from lazy. -

Don’t worry about the money so much and just have fun with your kids. One day they’ll be teenagers and they’ll probably rather go to the mall with their friends or be with their boyfriends than hangout with their rockstar Dad New Page!!! -

I’m thinking about it. Even if I was on the same chair as SaltyBalls I would out skate him at the top.. -

They may have paid for themselves by this weekend but you wouldn’t have been paying window or online prices for tickets at Blue so it’s a moot point. Remember your season passes entitle you to 10% off food and also tubing is included. -

Some of the Rocky Mountain area passes breakeven in four visits. It’s all about getting that cash flow upfront for Blue mountain. I’m sure there’s some season pass holders who only use their season pass a handful of times...great deal for sixth graders but somebody has to take em skiing. The season pass is the cheap part of skiing. The expensive part is gear and trips. I spend far less per visit to Blue mountain then I’d spend if I was in Allentown not skiing on any particular day. For example last ski season I didn’t go to bars Friday or Saturday nights to get good sleep before skiing and not be hungover...even if I just went out one of those two nights and spent $40 that alone more than pays for my season pass. -

Sounds like a good idea. I could be the first civilian to ski lazy mile too to bottom. Would be radical. -

It’s back to lemonade stand economics. Opening weekend they make more charging $39 than $65. Now they’ll make more selling $65 tickets than $39...I doubt charging full price will reduce day ticket sales by nearly half. There’s a lot of pent up demand to ski. The average day ticket buyer hasn’t even skied yet. I think Barbs Bush will be open by 2021
