Thursday 1-31-13 the entire mountain was frozen solid, every trail. When I arrived @ noon the temp in the parking lot was 42F so I was expecting soft snow, got an ice skating rink. Would have been a perfect day for a flexible flyer. I guess the high winds out of the northwest are what froze the place.

Tuesday 1-29, hero snow top to bottom, left to right. Every trail was awesome, the bumps and sleepy hollow were great. Best snow this year. Watched from the lift as a kid did the jump next to the cement mixer, on landing both skis released, he hit the trail helmet first and got knocked out cold.

That picture makes it look as though everything is open.

Shadows, I don't understand your point, why would/should that bother us. The ground was rock hard. I have a diagram showing how to construct temporary-above ground pits, they use them indoors, involves a little welding. Nice to see a post from you.

Very good time. Good to meet you paskiingsucks. I didn't do as well as I had hoped, but had fun doing it. Loved it when I hit the one pin with a pitch and the pin went flying, I got a small sledge to put it back in and the ground was hard as concrete. I would like to help with the tourney next year, a couple of small improvements would make it more fun. I think it could have been a singles tourney, there weren't that many entrants. It would move along quickly with a couple of alternate rules, like play to 15 and count all scoring (all shoes in scoring range count with no cancelling). Thanks to mgguy for doing a great job. I just called bear creek (5pm - 7/6/12), there is no entrance fee for the tourney or the can thing, it's pay as you go. They have room for 30+ players, 1st come 1st served. If it's not raining, I will be there around noon. Long hair, long beard, riding a motorcycle.

Warrington township tried that same ploy on a place called happy times down this way. Happy times fought it and won. I think they were able to prove the township was targeting them.

The bear creek site say 20 dollars for a season of fishing. Next time you are in the central bucks county area you need to stop and pitch a game of shoes at my place. If the bear creek thing is a tournament I'd be up for that. Chased in there by a dogfish.

With the exception of a couple of iffy days, it was a good year at blue. The only thing they didn't open were the two tree trails.

Stuck easy or not it looks way cool. Some drivers could drive that setup through almost anything others would be stuck in a dusting.

I don't wish falling trees on anybody. A neighbors oak tree almost got my house last year. Took out my electric and fried most of my electronics (computers,T.V.'s, refridgerator, toaster, blender) Scary for sure.

You are close. Do you pitch horseshoes? You can see in the picture there are a set of quoit pits next to the horseshoe pits.
