    magna traction

im not ragging on burton for being successful, its just that it is true that they steal ideas because they have money. another example is palmer's honeycomb. palmer was the first to invent the honeycomb core and has been doing it for quite a few years and burtom comes along with the t6 and claims that they invented it, which is not one bit true. and dont be ragging on mervin either. at least their boards are hand made in the usa by snowboarders, not by some 10 year old asian in indonesia getting paid 20 cents an hour to run a factory machine. and its not just me, talk to just about anyone in retail who does not deal with burton and they'll give you tons of reasons why they dont. talk to any rep from any other company as well, and they will most likely all not have much good things to say about burton. props to jake for pushing the sport and all, but now it seems its more about the money to them than the riders. their line is well overpriced, their vapor goes for $900 while other companys have boards out with the same exact technology, if not better, for around $600 and my bad for going on a rant about burton, thats just what i think about them. i believe they are wayyyy overrated oh yeah lib tech got their idea for the magna traction when one of their reps was eating crinkle cut french fries

    magna traction

yeah it was technines idea, and burton ended up buying it out of them so they could claim it as theirs, although technine still makes their bindings with a capstrap. and yeah lib will be making skis next year with the magna traction, the rep had one of them with him, twin tip of course
  3. haha thats what they all say....
  4. i've heard roomers that we're getting a teeter totter rail this year.... and gaps onto every rail....

    magna traction

burtons a bunch of assholes that steal everyones ideas because they have money but anyway, the lib tech rep that came to our shop was telling us how amazing the magna traction is. everyone i know who has tried one has loved it and will never go back to a regular board. lib is so seroius with this idea that they are actually thinking about how long it will take until they get rid of traditional edges on boards and have only magna traction. i plan on demoing it this year, and most likely will be buying a board with it next year. and for you skiers, you'll definetely be excited with what lib has to offer next year....

    new boot

dc boots are fucking great, as well as 32. those are probably your top 2 brands for boots since its all they specialize in. make sure you get a boot that fits you perfectly and you're comfortable. you might want to try out a boot with the BOA system too, i've heard only good things about them
  8. oh yeah i forgot to add in my post before another reason why im not a fan of burton bindings is i rode the customs last year and they broke, about halfway through the season and it was my first season using them
  9. nidecker has some amazing things going on with their bidings, the best on the market in my opinion. the pro 800s are a great binding for around $220 and if you're looking to spend around the 200 price range its definetely worth the extra $20. they have nice soft highbacks for park but are still quite stiff enough to be very responsive. the toe strap is changable from a cap to a regular strap. and burton didnt come out with the cap strap, it was actually technines idea but burton bought the idea out of them because they're so rich. i've also heard a lot of good things about the solomans although i dont know too much about them and ive never ridden them nideckers whole binding lineup is definetely worth checking out, www.nidecker.com

    Palmer Pls plates

we have the palmer plates up at mike n matts in all the sizes you're most definetely better off going with the plates than a wide board. with the plates, you can put them on a regular width board without any heel or toe drag which is much better than taking a wide board. since wide boards edges are further apart, it takes more energy to transfer from one edge to the other, making it much more difficult to turn. i dont know if you've ever ridden a wide board but they're just like trying to turn with your feet strapped onto a piece of plywood. with the plates you put them on a regular size board, and still maintain the same amount, if not better, control of a normal width board
  12. looks like it'll make for a good start with a lot of snow for the beginning of the season
  13. pffft, bumps? whats important is NINE NEW RAILS haha its about time cb came up to date with their parks but yeah, i guess those bumps are cool for you racing folk to

    shop reps

i may be getting a job at mike n matts this year, and from what it seems so far i think i have a pretty good chance. i know that they carry 32 as well as dc so they have quite a wide variety of higher end boots
