bigdaddyk Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 (edited) Few pics of the 22' pipe taking shape from 2/15. They had a cat sitting inside of it, I should have taken a picture of it for perspective. It's deep. Edited February 15, 2008 by bigdaddyk
toast21602 Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 damn they have a lot of work to do
Dan- Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 They do realize that there is only a month-month and a half tops left in this season... They better get to work.
dy-lan Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 True-dat..thanks for posting the pictures..serious stoke..do you think it will be open next weekend? probably not. i'm sure the first time people will be allowed to ride it is after the revolution tour. and it looks like they still need a lot more snow. if the weather doesn't stay cold they could be cutting it very close.
HellOnSnow Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 (edited) Here are some comparison pictures from mid afternoon on Saturday. By the time we left at 9:30pm, Sno had two groomers moving and compacting the snow on the walls. We also took a video from the lifts as one of the groomers was working on the side wall. We have enough snow and its aiming to be done for mid-late week this week. I was talking to the planet groomer today and he said it should be open to the public before the rev tour as well.
mollyskeez Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 the sixe of it rminds me of loons pipe that thig was soo sick i felt like an ant in it and could only air out like 4 feet haha.
bigdaddyk Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 They should dig a trench. That would save them the money on blowing so much snow.
toast21602 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 They should dig a trench. That would save them the money on blowing so much snow. i think thats the plan for the summer. i heard that they were going to use dirt from the water slide project to build some walls for the pipe.

I think that digging a trench would be best. It would allow you to drop in and pick up more speed.
Papasteeze Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Whats the voltage on those wires?
mollyskeez Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I think that digging a trench would be best. It would allow you to drop in and pick up more speed. thats what i was thinking you are going to have to ride up a 22 foot slope just to drop in thats going to take away alot of speed.
Papasteeze Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Yeah but don't you drop in on the wall... noob............
bigdaddyk Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 Yeah but don't you drop in on the wall... I even know that. If it is dug into the ground, you will already be on top of the wall, to drop in.
Dan- Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I even know that. If it is dug into the ground, you will already be on top of the wall, to drop in. They will more than likely build the walls, not dig into the ground to create them. So you will still be riding up the wall when you drop in.
Ski Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 They will more than likely build the walls, not dig into the ground to create them. So you will still be riding up the wall when you drop in. You also create a heat problem digging. At depths below four feet, the temp of the dirt is a constant 50 to 55 degrees F year 'round. Now, the top of the base of the pipe becomes the surface, but it's then surrounded by trapped heat trying to radiate upward and outward.

I just bought a plot in Centralia to put in a ski area Edited February 20, 2008 by bigdaddyk
bigdaddyk Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 At the competition I saw from Tamarack..they drop in on the wall..either the left or the right..I know my shit.. If it was dug in, you would still drop in from the top of the wall. You will automatically be on top of the wall .
Papasteeze Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 At the competition I saw from Tamarack..they drop in on the wall..either the left or the right..I know my shit.. what percentage drop from the left and what percentage from the right as you are looking up the pipe?

I know my shit.. I'm sure it was a mistake and everything, but it just worked out too perfect to not point out...
