Ski Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 That comes from one of the shuttle drivers. They had planned on closing THIS Sunday, but the snow/cold this week got us two extra weeks. How 'bout a big, motherf***ing BLIZZARD on 3/19? Might get us two more weeks...
Schif Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Come on, the snow is good and deep. Why decide to close so soon? They should let this cold play out and see where it takes us.
RidgeRacer Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 I'm thinking about being at Montage tomorrow night.

Sno Mountain Skier Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 i don't no if any of you guys noticed but on boomer they might have a five foot base. seriously if your near the chute jump there is a snow gun there and i go into the whole thats there and its up to my neck. i don't no why they would close so soon. i don't no if the driver was right though because i called two weeks ago for a suggestion and asked how long they'd be open till. the gm said probally the 20th then they would evaluate the slopes. so who knows for sure.
bigdaddyk Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 It seems like all of the Mountains around here are dead set against staying open into April...no matter what the conditions. If they all would drop their ticket prices, more people would show up, which would lead to a better profit margin.
Schif Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 I have a feeling that the early closing is due to of course money. They should cut back in some areas to allow for a longer season. Stop giving lessons, cut back staff in the lodge, run fewer lifts. For god's sake don't close with fully covered trails and a deep base.
Ski Posted March 13, 2005 Author Report Posted March 13, 2005 Man, the lot was hoppin' today and the green circles were filled. If crowds would only keep showing up, they'd be forced to stay open... People really took advantage of the $15 tickets.
Ski Posted March 20, 2005 Author Report Posted March 20, 2005 It's official. Sunday 3/20 at 5pm...lifts stop for the year.
AtomicSkier Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 It's official. Sunday 3/20 at 5pm...lifts stop for the year. don't you just feel like when the lifts stop?
skidude Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Stop for the year...There already planning a late opening (jan 1st) for next season
Ski Posted March 28, 2005 Author Report Posted March 28, 2005 Stop for the year...There already planning a late opening (jan 1st) for next season <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay, it took me a minute...
skidude Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 2005 is the year...That would mean they don't open until 2006 since they closed for the year....
