Day 70. Trying to hang in there to meet my goals, but a day like today makes it tough. Most of the hill is iffy, tons of hardpack, chickenheads, piles of sugar, FLAT LIGHT, etc. Even though I love empty, flat light cancels that out quite a bit.

Oh! Today is the 19 year anniversary of the day I slammed into a tree at high speed and shattered my wrists. Glad I didn't realize that until now

Day 72. About 6" of dense, heavy snow meant every turn required thought and I wasn't going to drench my hands and gloves with taking pictures. Got a workout.

That should be day 73, not 72.

Skis are 98's. Want wider ones, but generally there's only 2-3 days per year that it's an issue.

My daily skis are 96 under foot and my pow skis are 115s and I didn’t use pow skis this season

My most used are 84's with 2 layers of metal. They got a lot of use this year. But remember I started skiing in leather boots and straight skis. So 84's are mid-fats to me.

My skis are 188s and they feel little to me cause I used to ski on long 195-200cm+ skis back in the day and wow on the leather boots.

Cold cold cold. Plastic boots were a revelation. When I think of the absolute misery of leather boots, and, oh, the elastic straps you had to wrap around your ankles before ski brakes, and, oh, the bindings that used to grab a metal plate on your boots? Cannot believe how easy things are today.

When I first began to ski step in bindings were very common but when my family went to rocking horse ranch, their rental shop still had the metal plate binders and safety strap and I was clueless how to get into them.

it’s crazy some of the old Warren movies people didn’t even wear a hat skiing or just a headband or a baseball cap and just a sweater where did they keep their iPhones lol
