AtomicSkier Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Bob Hauls ass...and I was stuck behind him on Challenge... Doug, you better wear the race suit everyday, cause I'm gunna be freakin flying on my 183's w/ a 24m radius...
sexkitten Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 If you can't afford a race suit you could buy like a Nike running pant and jacket. They are tight and more aerodynamic than your ski pants and you could use them for running in the colder months. Just wear Underarmor underneath and you'd be good to go.
AtomicSkier Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 It's not that I can't afford a racesuit, it's that I don't want to spend the money on one..I torn between buying all the gear for racing or just doing it for fun like last season...we'll see aka beat metz or get beaten by metz.
AtomicSkier Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Shit I forgot about Metz..Metz are you out there..why did you stop posting???? i guess the driving range got really busy?
romemadman Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 i guess you are goign to need that suit doug or you will never hear the end of it and we won't either about how you would have won with the suit
method9455 Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 I wonder why the delay on the lift towers?
skifreak Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Maybe they couldn't get ahold of the helicopters last week. Who knows
Schif Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Maybe they couldn't get ahold of the helicopters last week. Who knows Thats too bad, they should have just called up Atomic, I think he's got a few laying around.
AtomicSkier Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Thats too bad, they should have just called up Atomic, I think he's got a few laying around. Probably don't have the lifting capacity to haul one of those things up in the air. I'm sure one of those lift towers is pretty dam heavy.
ColoradoHigh Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 I believe that its because they couldn't do it cause of winds. The winds were to high. And rain.
Timeless Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Do you think they've left it too late? With the weather turning so fast they may end up with no lift at all Then you'd see some lift lines Everyone else adding new lifts (like Belleayre and Windham) had the towers in during the summer and the cables are all in place. If you look at their timelines from placing the towers to where they are now, I'm not convinced Blue is going to make it.
skifreak Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 I've been thinking that too all along, timeless. We can only hope, you never know.
AtomicSkier Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 The most time consuming part of the lift install is removing the old towers, setting the new footers, and install of the lift towers. All they've got to do is string the line, slap on some chairs, and crank her up
Timeless Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Weather turning??? Look at the 15 day forecast...it's mostly sunny with above freezing temperatures. It's only mid October and the lift won't be open until mid December...they have tons of time and it probably won't snow until Thanksgiving. I hope you are right.
Schif Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 How do they get the cable around? Huge spools. Theres actually a factory by me that makes cables like that.
ColoradoHigh Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 I think they are actually fixing the bottom terminal. Did they even get the top terminal in place yet?
Papasteeze Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 How do they get the cable around? I thought most cable were twisted on site. maybe not..
AtomicSkier Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 How do they get the cable around? well the cable is not taught, hence they can just slip it around the drive wheels, and use the weight of the chairs to make it taught. As for how they actually make the cable, I dont know. There has to be a splice somewhere
Stevo Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I don't think lines will be a problem this year Rob... You still gonna work in explorers? I don't know if your hazing period is over... Haze him some more. Make him ski again- that was humorus. The most time consuming part of the lift install is removing the old towers, setting the new footers, and install of the lift towers. All they've got to do is string the line, slap on some chairs, and crank her up Hmm.....did they use helis to lift out the old towers? well the cable is not taught, hence they can just slip it around the drive wheels, and use the weight of the chairs to make it taught. As for how they actually make the cable, I dont know. There has to be a splice somewhere I'm almost positive that the cable is welded in one or more spots.
