  1. Was over there this afternoon with the DW, and the ski patrol bathrooms are boarded up. 😩 Telstar and Solitude look like the whales are almost ready to push out. Floyd’s has a ways to go. Couple of guys riding ski bikes on One Park.
  2. There are bathrooms next to the ski patrol building at the bottom of one park. Be nice if there were something over on East mountain. Also larger bathrooms across from the courtesy desk where I would change.
  3. Several ski bikes in the terrain park to. I wasn’t fast enough to get photos.
  4. Just Rivershot. Solitude, Telstar and Floyd’s still closed.
  5. Another nice morning at Frost. About 33 and light snow when I got there. Sad remains of elevator glade. Floyds
  6. All slopes were very carveable all morning, probably until closing. Be out tomorrow afternoon with the DW, hopefully.
  7. 50.7 going down the final drop of Rivershot. Long flat runout afterwards. They don’t have the race pressure to open Floyd’s.
  8. Couple of hours this morning at Frost. 33 when I got there, 37 when I left. Most of the time on east mountain. Still a long ways to get Floyd’s open, but they are trying. Exhibition open. They widened the bottom headwall of River Shot by pushing snow off to the right. Slopes are in great shape, very firm with a little soft stuff on top. Nothing off piste. Holding up well when I left. Top speed almost 15 mph faster than yesterday at that other mountain. Started not having an empty slope in front of me about 11. First trips on new east mountain lift. Still as slow as before. Not running Tbolt lift weekdays.
  9. First 3 runs today were great. Then things got really chopped up (34 degrees, very light mist, a little foggy on top). Chunky on top, soft lower down (can I say that on a public forum?). A lot of work to ski it. They removed the features on Barb’s way, hopefully going to blow some snow on it. They blew a little snow last night on switchback. They closed freefall a little after opening. Initial conditions were much better groomed than yesterday.
  10. If you haven’t been in the local ER, you really haven’t skied an area
  11. Probably over did it yesterday.
  12. Out for an hour this morning. Tried to find a decent slope. Freefall and DW/NM wasn’t awful, but then you had the sugar on Paradise to deal with. Best slope was the Falls. Groomers ripped up Razors. Definitely wasn’t feeling the love this morning.
  13. Deserted compared to last Monday. Light pretty flat early, better later. Strong wind blowing uphill most runs, better on NM/DW. All slopes very firm but not icy. Fresh edges on the RTMs helped. Razors closed until about 10:30. Widowmaker closed for gate practice. Main St. In great shape, none of the loose stuff to bother you. 19 runs before noon and my legs still felt fresh.
  14. Good day. Struggled a bit on the top razors headwall because of the rained over frozen groomer ruts in the fog. It was too bad because the rest of Razors was primo. Rock sticking out left center of flat part of TCS. Barb’s way really hit hard by the rain. Otherwise, things were good, especially top and bottom left of Main St. Widowmaker and Lazy were also in good shape. Fog on top never lifted by the time I left at 11. I think the first two buses were from the Cumberland Valley school system. They came up to Little Gap and turned in at the covered bridge inn to go over the stream on the covered bridge. Took a while for them to turn around and come back out to the cut over near the fairgrounds.
  15. Today was nice. Light mist turned to light rain by the time I left at 11. Everything was in really good shape, hero snow. They closed razorback, and the lower part of razors for slalom practice, so you had to exit at the crossover to Falls. Lazy, Main St., Widowmaker, were in really good shape, they got a little soft, but never snow piles or slushy. The only complaint was that the right side of lower main had a lot of groomer bumps, and that’s where I skied to avoid the schussboomers coming down from Midway along the left side which was a lot smoother. Summit lift had some problems off and on, and the quad got a little crowded sometimes but not too bad. Slopes were pretty crowded by the time I left, but not as bad as yesterday. They desperately need another wide slope, like sidewinder, to open up to take some of the pressure off other slopes. All in all, one of the better days on the mountain. Switched from my RTMs to my Head Kores about 1030 and they handled the soft stuff a lot better.
  16. Skied until about 11 when the lifts started backing up outside the gates. Summit wasn’t open when I left. Quad was particularly busy. Upper Razors got a little marbled, but once you reached above Razorback I could open up a little. Skipped TCS with a few runs on Main and Curzi’s. Saw JLaw having fun on lower Razors, but we were pretty much oppositely staggered. A lot of work done on the slopes and it shows.
  17. Skied with the grandkids at Frost. 3 yo got a little cold after 4 or 5 runs on Frosty, but the 4 yo was out for over an hour. Fries and hot chocolate as a reward.
  18. Upper Widowmaker wasn’t too bad. Chute could definitely use a couple more days grooming. People shooting down from lower sidewinder to the slow crowd at the top of Barb’s way made things interesting. Central Park was a featureless bypass to Barb’s way. Gates already set up on Razors at 8 am. Left at 9:30 when lines on all 3 lifts were getting backed up. Nice while it lasted. People talking about their trips coming up.
  19. I really miss that little cutoff.
  20. They got to move the park on Barb’s. It is a zoo with people going to summit lift. No room for the park rats to use the features.
  21. The scary part is not the crowd at the bottom, but the crowd coming down the trail.
