  1. Yea, Camelbeach will most likely be packed if it's warm. Just go in down by the quad that services the Nile, you can go right down over the bank.
  2. I'm guessing someone else will be sponsoring the skiing part?
  3. I got some info today that Amateur Athlete is sponsoring this event, and that grand prize is: Board, Boots, Bindings, Pants, and Jacket. Maybe gloves and goggles, not sure. Just thought I'd share what I heard. Oh, and I also got word that AA is having a rail jam at their one shop and they're going to truck in some snow for it.
  4. I'm in need of a new snowboard, and different people tell me different things. I know sintered is a little faster and holds wax better. Which holds up better on rails? Which is easier to repair? Post everything you know about each one.
  5. The hippo is the half rainbow rail that was set up on the first straight before the up-flat (which was awesome).
  6. That battleship box was awesome. I liked the original position though, around the first turn because it allowed enough speed to gap the flat. Another idea I had (comment on it): Turn the hippo rail around backwards and make a nice launch ramp onto it with a good smooth transition...
  7. It's ok Dan, I have a camera we can use if you leave stevo home.
  8. Wow, very good for first time. My camera is just a Kodak EasyShare DX7440, 4 MegaPixels, but I'm determined to get some good firework pics. The camera is extremely user friendly, and has 16 different settings, one being a fireworks setting. I don't really know a thing about cameras, but when I set it on the firework setting it says f5.6 and next to that is 2.0", which I'm guessing is 2second shutter speed. Last year 2 seconds didn't seem long enough to get some of the big fireworks, so this year I'll try the manual setting and bump it up to 3 seconds. Post the Dorney pics if you go, I'll take my snowgun off the tripod and set up my camera tonight also.
  9. Fire-flys have been out for at least 2 weeks already around here. You usually find the most right after it gets dark out.
  10. ...or maybe he just CAN'T count Remember Stevo, you start at 1, not 0.
  11. You use a tripod for firework pics, right? What shutter speed works best? edit: I found this info on the link you posted, 3 seconds. NICE PICS! edit2: That camera is like $800 right? Great pics of the flood also. Ever try taking pictures of lightning?

    Peace

AWESOME PICS! Figure the cameraman is 6ft, so he is 16-18ft up there, wow!
  13. Your right, I didn't get to Bear Creek, but I heard that was pretty good also. From what I heard, I think that BC and Shawnee were pretty close last year, but I can't put a number on them since I wasn't at either one. This year will be different (hopefully) since I will get my license (again, hopefully).
  14. I wasn't sure about ski club this year since last year CamelBack's parks weren't that great, but now I'm joining. Our school goes 6 times, so that will probably be enough. Still isn't changing where I'll be getting a pass either(Blue), but I like to see they're actually trying to improve. In my opinion, last year goes like this for parks: 1)Big Boulder 2)Blue Mt. 3)Jack Frost 4)Camelback -I wish I would have gotten more places. I wanted to check out shawnee because I heard their park was awesome last year. -I hope Camelback devotes more time to making Rhodo good since you have to pay, rather than Laurel. They will need to keep it extremely well maintained in order for people to spend the money for a park pass. Anyone have any ideas on how much one will cost, and if they will be good a whole season or just a day? Now if they put in a rop tow i'll have some decisions to make.
  15. What snowguns are they? I'm thinking York Borax? After you guys get a good base down, start pointing the snowguns up a little higher to make drier snow. The thing that messes up snow quality is when you guys put those air/water tripod guns right in the middle of the trail and point them straight toward the ground. This makes wet, durable snow, but it's not very forgiving and ices over easily. Making drier snow actually gives you more volume. I haven't noticed it much at all last year, but I did the previoius year. Everyone seems to be suggesting good things about jumps, so the only thing I'll say is about the hip. Last year it wasn't even a true hip. If you make one this coming year, have a lip with a landing rotated a full 75-90 degrees on the side. Oh, and at the end of the season I noticed that "quarterpipe" on the tree next to the wall ride. I liked how it was back somewhat hidden and how you had to really carve in to hit it, except it wasn't really maintained. I keep thinking of things as I type, so I'll end it with this: I missed the blue flat-down rail last year.
  16. I'm getting a new board, and POSSIBLY new boots. Not sure what kind yet, I'm sort of leaning toward forum, but really I have no clue. I guess it depends how much money I save up, considering I'll be getting a season pass and a board.
  17. Still Snow up on BB. I just got back from my cabin and I drove back through to check it out. About 30ft wide and like 80ft long patch, approximately...CRAZY. So, is it possible that Big Boulder has the only snow in Pennsylvania (or does Elk)? They will probably even have a patch into June.
  18. When viewing your board just hit the 'print screen' button on your keyboard and then go into paint and hit paste, your board will come up and then just crop it and save. The link should work, sometimes it takes a minute or two though.
  19. Yea, those are the ones I was looking for but I couldn't find the link, I even used the search feature...thanks for the reply.
  20. I saw the link to the Revolution Snowboards website a few days ago and I just started messin around with the designs...here is what I did so far. Revolution_Design_1.bmp A few questions: Does anyone have suggestions on how to blend the snowman into it a little better? Who would I ask for permission to use the PASR logo if I actually made/ordered this board? Are there any other PASR logos/sticker images that would possibly blend better with the colors? Everyone else post the board you design, I'm interested to see what some of you come up with!
  21. Yea I've done it before. I used a plastic 140 board tho because I didn't want to cut the trampoline. It really gets you tired quick, but it's a lot of fun. I'm afraid to try flips with the board, but I can almost 720 though.
  22. If it was my mountain and I was considering making trails down the back I don't think I would. I would though, cut down a few trees and all the bushes and blow some snow in between the trees and everything with just one double chair coming up. And not on the whole back of the mt either, just on like a little section mabye three times the width of a normal trail. That way it would be all glades and they could set up tree jibs and stuff. It probably sounds like a bad idea, but I bet it would attract a crowd and draw some away from the main face (not that it usually gets overcrowded).
  23. Steve---Remember what usually happens when you call your tricks ? You should't have said what you're going to try. Now you may not land it.
