  1. Just had about a 2 hour break between classes, and BB is 59mins from NACC. So of course I took a ride up there, and lets just say you better have 4 wheel drive. Crazy insane amounts of snow on the roads, and I saw 3 cars slid off, 2 of which were flipped over. Took a quick drive back to Boulder, and there must be 6-8" up there and they were still getting hammered. It was awesome, so much snow for October. I even threw a bunch in the bed of my truck to bring back with me. Rt. 80 must have been backed up for at least 4 miles, probably due to accident, so luckily I came up the back way. On the way home on 80 there wasn't a single car on my side, and I was racing through the snow with my 4x4 making fresh tracks. Such a sick roadtrip. Might even go back up after school just for the hell of it.
  2. That should settle some things things... oh, and yoursupersweet, more like imAsuperdouchebagretard, it doesn't matter what the humidity is when it's 27 degrees, snow can be made regardless. Although if it's high they won't, it can be done. Cloudcover also doesn't mean anything, the temperature is still the temperature. If it's 25 degrees out and cloudy that's the same as 25 degrees with a full moon.
  3. I got word that boulder blew some snow thursday night. Don't be hatin if i'm wrong, but that's just what I heard from a couple people. They supposedly wanted to get a tiny rail jam up for this video premier tonight, but with all this heavy rain it don't look too promising. Anyone else hear anything?
  4. Pure luck that I was checking the weather for up there right as it was snowing...but I thought it was pretty cool. This was also verified by noaa.gov at the same time for both Blakeslee and Lake Harmony. Really, what are the chances that i'd be checking the weather as soon as they update the current conditions to post that it's snowing.
  5. www.mountsnow.com check it out, they blew some snow last night and set up a box. Won't be long now.
  6. If i get the time, I'm gonna make those two into one, the left being fall fading into the right hand side being winter.
  7. HAHAHA that picture is great. Yeah, I took a single run through the park last season...and that was more than enough for me. I think I found better features on the sides of some of the trails. About those Turbocristal fanguns though, they're pretty good from what I hear. It's a completely different snowgun design from the rest of the fanguns, and it seems to work very well. And the LP tower guns should be kickin on first, since they're one of the better marginal temperature guns. Looks like they might have a good chance this year (why do I feel like that's been said in the past?).
  8. Really sick setup to start off the year with. Plan on blowing out your hips/knees/rest of your body if you come short on any of these jumps. Pretty decent sized gaps, but I wouldn't consider them step ups. They just have the jump, and then a big "upslope" and then the dropoff for the landing (instead of jump, flat, landing). This will make even less people hit it, which isn't a bad thing at all. The last double option jump looks decent, but if you misjudge your speed, you will either come short or overshoot the landing and hit hard, in my opinion. It looks way to steep...the jumps are big but they don't need a landing quite that steep, or else it should be lengthened out. The Jump gap snowbox gap downbox thing looks super sick. I just wish they would make one a little larger up on the Mt. without the box at the end, just a super nice landing. Hopefully they build up a clean looking transfer gap again sometime this season. Overall great setup so far...keep it goin!
  9. It's supposed to be like 22F up there tonight, but I heard that they're NOT making snow??? I'm not sure how true that is, but from what i know, i think they will. Then after that, this week is going to be relatively mild, but it leads right into a stretch of VERY favorable snowmaking weather after Friday. Hopefully they'll be almost half open by they 24th. That's my guess anyway. Setup was good today.
  10. Hand up in the air, cuz i'll be there! White Sessions jacket, orange bindings, brownish tan pants. Get me some candy or hot chocolate for my birthday
  11. I was told LOTS of rails/jibs/whatever they can get up.
  12. Yup. Sorry for some that were blurry. It was my sisters camera and i couldn't really figure out the settings on it. You can get the idea. Like i said, most spots were just a very thick even coat, like closer to the 1.5-2ft range i'm guessing. However, right in front of a couple of the guns it looked to be AT LEAST 3ft, but probably a bit more.
  13. Okay for all you imapatient people (everyone). Here are some pics. The deepest spot when I arrived would have to be around the 4ft range. No huge whales, just a very thick even coat for the most part. Then they told us that they would be firing up the guns in 10 mins, which was at 5:10, so we ended up freezing our asses off until an hour or so later when they finally got every gun on. It was a beautiful sight to see each gun go on and then have the snow quality checked using the sleeve test. Great day. Now that I shared my pics, what's everyone getting me for my birthday tomorrow? Some hot chocolate saturday would be nice....
  14. I got quite a few pics. Drove 50mins after school just to watch them fire up the guns. I should get the pics up tonight, and if not then tomorrow. Mad snow.
  15. Wow, that's good coverage for warm ground temps, and only 3.75 hours of snowmaking. Especially since the temps are marginal and the guns are probably only running at 1/3 of the total gpm. I'm goin up tomorrow to take a look.
  16. HAHAHA i just got back from changing my pants. The first day I come back on the forum, I make a post, and look what happens.
  17. Will tonight be the night? The guns are ready to go, flurries today, and no rediculosly high temps anywhere in the forecast. They should go for it. Not saying they will, but if they plan on opening in little over a week, they won't have any problem keeping some snow on a trail, especially when they can get AT LEAST 3 or 4 nights of snowmaking in between now and then. If not tonight, i see them beginning after the weekend, or Sunday night. I've been snowboarding for like...6 years now, and i just got my first season pass ever. Guess where I got it for? Thats right...
  18. I was up there from like 8:45 to 4:00. If you saw me I was probably falling off the end of the battleship box, because I guess it just didn't like me today. Conditions were great, Parks were good, jumps still huge. Had a really fun time.
  19. That wasn't a good example at all...didn't your mother ever teach you to share?
  20. Well, I had to get out on the board at least once more before I could live through summer, so I went up solo today. Met up with some PASR members...I was quiet so if you were there you probably saw me. Cheddar Chex Mix is good...thanks Doug. Watched pond skimming for a while, some funny crashes. Got bored...ate some fries with Stevo, then headed out around 3, and had to avoid a family of ducks in the road on the way home. Good last day at Blue I guess...snow was a lot faster than I thought it would be. *edit- I had my bathing suit in the truck, but it was too cold to take a chance at swimming today.
  21. So when will it be announced whether or not they will open this weekend? How were conditions on Sunday? If they do open, how many trails/lifts do they plan to have? I'm not looking for great conditions or anything, just trying to get the most out of the end of the season and I'm sort of planning around whether they'll be open or not. Since they close at 6pm, will a twilight/night pass be usable if I have them, or are they no longer valid and will I be screwed into having to buy a pass?
  22. I think as far as hiking goes, the mountains with big parks should sell an after season pass good for say, like a month after they close allowing you to hike and build jumps. Only like $10 though, since there's no lifts, and it keeps their ass covered if anything happens, since it will be like a normal lift ticket, or some type of plastic card. Just my thought, because I think Boulder should do this also.
