  1. Have you ever tried getting divorced? It is an expensive and emotionally draining process unless both parties are in complete alignment on what they want the financial and custodial terms of thebdivorce to be. I would say having experienced how challenging it is to get a divorce makes it unlikely we will get married even after she gets divorced. Neither of us plan to have more kids - which is IMO the best reason for people to get married. We would rather remain in a relationship as long as it suits us without making it so we would have to go through that process again if we ever wanted to end it.
  2. She isn't even divorced yet 🙃
  3. Worth it to me to drive for an extra weekend with skiing and really I don't need much on day 1 as mostly about reminding muscles not used since April what I expect of them. Belleayre will likely have 926' of vertical open with 3 runs including blue, black and double black. Remains to be seen if Hunter will open but if they do it will be 1463' of vertical with blue and black terrain. Either are close enough to day trip. Worth it for me, even if I have to buy 3 tix to ski off pass at Belleayre. Going to Beaver Creek in a month and want to get my teens in good skiing shape for the season well before then. If we don't do it Fri then next day I could take them would be Dec 10. Ski it when you can.
  4. So you all waiting til Dec to ski or anyone else road tripping north with a belly full of triptamine?
  5. If Hunter isn't open we will do Belleayre for about half that price. Plus they have never been there while they are still "Blued out" from 15 days there 5 years ago.
  6. 3 people haven't offered us their buddy passes yet.
  7. Hoping to start Skison 11-24 at Hunter, though they are not revealing anything yet.
  8. Okemo too far to go to lap one run this weekend. Will wait a week and start at Hunter.
  9. So what is the latest opening day that could qualify as one of those trails opening earlier than ever before?
  10. Yeah Killington prob open by 1st weekend in Nov, but won't be doing that as going to Stevie Nicks in Allentown that Sat Nt. Any of you locals hitting that show? Earliest I could conceivably ski is Nov 8, but likely will wait til somewhere on Epic in the East is a possibility.
  11. While no opening dates have been announced yet for Eastern Epic resorts, tix are now on sale for Mt Snow starting 11/18. May be skiing in 23 days. Hunter selling tix starting 11/22 - might wait to hit that the following weekend
  12. Between Blue, Camelback and Windham that would be 21 days of skiing I could do without paying for hotels. Would also quite likely hit places like Stratton, Sugarbush, Killington, Loon and a trip or two to Rockies - and it would be nice to revisit all of these places I have not skied since in at least the 5 years I will have had Epic or Indy passes.
  13. I doubt it will make much impact on crowding at Blue this year as most have already made pass purchases and most who live near Poconos have likely not opted for Ikon. Bigger impact next season.
  14. Beaver Creek booked with my teens for 12/23-25/23
  15. Yep this will be my last year on Epic. Ikon for 24-25. Will be nice to hit CBk and Blue again occasionally instead of JF and RT
  16. I believe they make a little fresh snow every night to keep the surface predictably just how they want it. Doesn't take all that much $ as it is always kept at proper temperature and humidity and they have the equip built in. Basically just flip a swich.
  17. They are now seeding moguls last weekend of every month
  18. Yeah they were not checking our pass at all when we were there but no way we were gonna keep it up over 2 hrs. For park rats, learners, or a few runs for novelty on a hot day.
  19. (No weekend days waiting in mega lift lines at Blue = priceless)
  20. 16 Indy Days 16 Epic Days 1 "3rd Indy day" at 25% off 1 $25 day at Plattekill 1 $45 day at Belleayre Total of 35 days = 2nd biggest season yet Next year all Epic
  21. Great idea - think I will plan to be at Stowe for it. We caught the last one at Isle of Palms Beach in SC, the first place it was visible in the US.
  22. Pretty view from Catskill Thunder Gondola
  23. Nice to see you guys on your way home. Nice thing about the Crown Vic - skis fit in the trunk cross-wise. Got 23 mpg for the trip. Not too shabby for something that size. Went "off pass" this weekend at Plattekill and Belleayre, spent the night at Twilight Lodge (in Tannersville as decision to hit Belleayre instead of Hunter on Sun was made after I booked room - based on reports of not great conditions at Hunter on Sat). Still got nice deals - $25 at Platte and $48 at Belle. Next up will be Breck April 15-17 making for at least a 35 day Skison
