  1. It's official now, I like Whiteface better than Camelback since I just replaced the trail maps. Camelback and I are through after they screwed over their non-season pass holders this year with astronomical pricing in comparison to other resorts. Plus Whiteface has a bit more vert than Camelback.
  2. Correct. You see the Colorado sign and then it's still 2 more hours of flat nothingness
  3. How was your 420 mile drive thru Kansas?? Did you get stopped by the Po-Po like I did for doing 83 in a 75??
  4. No, it has the name of the hotel on it ...
  5. Opened my curtains after a restful 9 hour sleep and was treated to a nice view of Little Whiteface outside the ultra wide window at The Hungry Trout resort. I could see the gondola cars going up through my binoculars. Radical!
  6. TFTI. I had a lot of fun driving cross country. Ohio sucks, and Indiana and Illinois arent bad because they're relatively short. Kansas goes on forever, but I thought it was nice seeing just vast nothingness. Be sure to check out the Wizard of Oz museum along the way
  7. That was grate! Here's Harti Weirather going down the mountain. I have no idea what specific runs he was on in this video. At 1:08 he hit 84 mph, almost as fast as @AtomicSkier but Atomic probably didn't have radical 80's synthesizer music playing at the time.
  8. Gee, thanks!! How much are you asking? I'd like to buy a wider and longer set of skis for my Utah trip
  9. Nice report!! I stayed in Plattsburgh one night on my way to Stowe, then took the ferry to Vermont the next day. That's pretty far from Whiteface, guess there weren't hotel options around Lake Placid?? 4 to a room does suck really big time. I did that on band trips and after my first trip of having sharing a bed with a dude, I started bringing a sleeping bag and slept on the floor. One of the best parts of being an adult is having a hotel house room all to myself. I skied open to close all 3 days with a few breaks here and there and it was grate. Didnt want to quit this afternoon Wearing ski clothes on a 7 hour drive back would suck, I'd probably be so frickin' hot. Hell I was getting toasty on the runs today and yesterday and was more hot than I was cold most of the time
  10. Think I'll order some Crème Brule for dessert. Reminds me of @enjoralas's phenomenal cooking.
  11. Pan fried trout and pertaters. Delicious, 10/10
  12. @RidgeRacer Hungry Trout Resort is great!! Better than the Cobble Mountain (though I like that a lot too). I love the restaurant next door so I didnt even have to drive anywhere after post ski SUJOPO.
  13. I haven't been keeping up with Blue since it's a puny anthill compared to Whiteface. Is Coming Soon still open? If so is it a sheet of pure ice by now??
  14. Probably thin cover. Some of the steep runs have plants and rocks sticking out.
  15. WTH Kyle, this is a site for children and a lady told me that. Let's make this a day of kindness
  16. Cloudspin was closed, I didnt see a sign for Cloudspin Cut. My final top to bottom run was epic. Upper Skyward in the clouds, moguls on Niagra and Victoria, then Off Broadway for more moguls, then Boreen and thru Bobcat Glades as a nice finish. Epic rad gnarly day!
  17. @RidgeRacer Upper Skyward to Niagra to Victoria is a really fun run. It goes from steep smooth surface with dense fog, to steep moguls with better visibility to less steep moguls. Far out!
  18. No soda refills, it was a bottle of coke. Someone told me 4-8 inches this afternoon but that was #FakeNews
  19. Feel like I'm never getting out of bear land. The rat place was a total fustercluck, took 30 minutes for them to bring my burrito and fries. Other people were complaining cuz they weren't taking their order. Then the waitress disappeared with my credit card for another 15 minutes. Put my gear on and kept popping my head in to see if my card sprouted wings and flew away. I mean I'm a patient guy but come on, man, I want to shred the gnar!! And now the gaper lift shut down 3 times so God knows when I'll get back to the gundolllia
  20. Waiting for my burrito and fries in the Bear Lodge and I just saw a big black mouse walking along the wall
  21. I think this is a good policy with or without a pandemic. I can actually find a table consistently because people dont hog the tables all day long, and I have no intent on staying any longer than it takes to eat lunch or drink my coffee
  22. @eaf I have a grate idea. designate chairlifts as restaurants, then you can sit close by other people without masks! Restaurants create invisible barriers did ja know? Just dont sit in one place for 31 minutes or you might cost everyone their season
  23. As the owner of this thread I grant Eaf permission to type whatever he wants
  24. Might look into doing the Notch tomorrow, though I have no idea if it gets crazy busy on a weekend. From what I understand it's off the beaten path and more people go to Stowe...? Edit: nevermind I just remember we live in brave new world now and crossing certain imaginary lines requires extra hoop jumping
