I hit a 2’ Le December snow at Elk with WM tics quite a few years ago , very memorable.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but I think they delay snowmaking till the new lift is very close to being done or completed . The last thing the construction crew needs is to be scraping off equipment or sliding around on snowmaking overspray. Leads me to a question for the people with snowmaking knowledge. Is it better for the base to be on frozen ground rather then warm ground that can melt the snow from below the surface? Does warm ground create an ice layer or does it drain away?

Time to dig out the jackets and gloves.

That's pretty cool . I happened by a yard sale one year and snagged a Nordic Track for $15.00 LOL. I used it for 6yrs before having to replace a drive wheel $75.00 . I set it on the highest angle with a lot of resistance and put leg weights on . It's not quite what that gym has but it works ok . I'm in trouble this year though I haven't been on once yet .

Furnace is forced air boiler is hot water , big difference in efficiency! Heat pumps are definitely more efficient than they used to be. Solar I’m not to familiar with as far as PV , I have a customer who installed a couple years ago and said if he had it to do over again he wouldn’t. He didn’t do a good job of elaborating. He has a Geothermal unit with a very shallow piping system in his yard that was done in the early 80’s ( not too efficient) Natural gas is still cheap if it’s available. UGI offers a $1,500.00 rebate for Combi units ( Domestic water and heat)

Oil forced air really sucks and is inefficient , if you have AC with it you’re better off taking out the AC and putting in a heat pump and making the oil back up heat.

Buy electric heaters 😁 Minisplit heat pumps are good too.

Shame on the doubters.

I’m curious, how much Diesel do they go through in a season? Is the water pumping system Electric? What is capacity GPH ? How many CFMs air? Lots more questions but I’ll shut up now 🙂

Too bad you didn’t fly in the late afternoon. It cleared up in time for my Mt Pisgah hike. I’m anxious to ski some lines up there.

24° Ish . The gun that pasted me every run was at the intersection of Paradise and Homestretch .

I had the best day ( night) skiing Coming soon last year. Lapped it 4hrs straight while the guns were running. Perfect wind direction blew the snow straight up the slope , it was perfect mix of bumps with a refresh on every run . Best day there last season! What I found amazing was very little goggle stickage. Nothing like some of the fan guns down low, you could be 100yds away and end up a glazed donut.

What's your wingspan again ?

I was thinking it would be cool to fly an ultralight though the tunnel while it’s down but I’m not ready to give up my ticket just yet Lol .
