  1. I tried out a snowplow hack today that my friend told me about. I have a gravel driveway that beats up my ATV plow. Take a piece of well pipe and split it lengthwise with a table saw, drill two holes in the end and slip it over the blade , wire tied it place. Gave it a test and it worked pretty well. Touring a couple nice farm fields on Monday hopefully.
  2. Forecast Upgrayyed 6”-9”
  3. I’ll bet the empties don’t make the trash can either.
  4. Very nice , first run coming soon was great, second and third runs were in the ditch. Third was first crash of the season, the ditch had some icy spots, and I stuffed a tip into the mogul trough, ended up front seat and slid into the next trough. I aggravated my ankle injury from the summer . The moguls kicked my butt today. Skied with the bump crew a little bit. Sidewinder was nice, lower main st side country was good too. 9-11:20 Cant wait till the kids go back to school. Boarder with “Lite beer “ WTF
  5. Went out to shovel and the coating to an inch is 2+’’ . Like Ridge said , fairy dust.
  6. My friend Paul bitches that Blue grooms too much. I have to wonder if that’s the source of the cookies? The groomer has low surface weight with the width of the tracks but still I think it does compact the snow to a degree. I can’t honestly say I have seen cookies at Bear. Some sugar piles on occasion. I do like the lodge vibe, kinda Steam punk meets Daniel Boone . I go over on occasion to eat at the trails end cafe. Wife likes to walk through the lodge and up the stairs to the hotel top floor and come down and get dinner.
  7. Bear creek doesn’t get the amount traffic that Blue does. Also I think the pitch plays a part , It just doesn’t get scrapped down like Blue. Bear’s always done a pretty good job of coverage even going back to the Doe mountain days. I started there in 74 lots of great memories. They have a couple lower ponds, I wonder what level they’re at?
  8. I shared @Johnny Laws disappointment with racers, it looked sweet on the ride up. Challenge was nice then I went to main st lift for less wind and of course I ended up on the chair that must’ve been in front of the gun. As I was grumbling I thought to myself that meant they had made some fresh. I’m thinking I know the chair wasn’t under Barneys but maybe? I got to the top of main st and Barneys had a new coat, so I grabbed first tracks . I saw the green/pink flash by I stayed on Barneys till 10 then back to work. Unfortunately my job near blue is done so I have to plan a little more for early morning sessions .
  9. Suggestions “ Your Mom doesn’t ski here clean up your trash.” ( Not applicable to @momskeeztoo) Throw trash loose pass” If they had bins up top and at the bottom probably half the dirtbags would oblige.
  10. Son’s at again. Mars hiding behind the moon for a while.
  11. Nice morning for sure. I didn’t have the right lens for the flat light so I didn’t feel comfortable in 5th gear. Racers 👍, then sampled Barneys… meh . The ditch was a little slick so way up the sides for speed control. I spotted some nice side country on racers so last two laps were a little glade fun . Tonight should be pretty fun but but I need to get some work done unfortunately.
  12. Anxious arrival around 9 , battery light came on while coming up Blue Mountain drive. Ski first deal with it later. Lots of grooming activity on Razors, probably 3-4’ base . First run on Nightmare… so so , Barneys next…🤮Lower main had some cookies.Over to coming soon. Skiers right side country new manmade was a bit scratchy lowered my ditch expectations. Once I got there it was pure velvet and went most of the way down. Repeated a bunch and left at 10:30 . Nursed my vehicle to a garage.

  13. Yesterday they were blowing snow on the tubing hill and next to the lodge???
  14. I was there too 8:30-12:30 . Pretty chilly 12° with 30 mph gusts and snow squalls. 10/10 conditions the Moguls were awesome ! Sorry I missed you.
  15. I have Radicals as well, two things I don’t like is getting the toe pins lined up while stepping in. I thought about using a sharpie and making a vertical line/ guide to help see where the female fitting is on the boot. The other issue is snow getting compacted under the toe pice springs and not allowing the toe pins to engage fully. I carry a small screwdriver to keep it clear. But overall I haven’t had any release issues and like the weight difference between my old Marker Dukes.
  16. Fun hour before work. Wind blown sasturgi over shiny cord up top. Challenge was nice top of sidewinder was gale force. Main st glade was other worldly . Nightmare seemed to be the best snow on the mountain.
  17. You can ski the Mount Lemmon granite moguls year round. I’m rooting for natural snow so I can do some BC local. It’s been 11 years since my niece and I did Bear mountain by Jim Thorpe. February 2014 was fantastic. Lately March has been the only chance and the sun makes quick work of what we do get.
  18. Hopefully a Plattekill powder day. Haven’t decided yet but hopefully Arizona or southwest somewhere before their season ends.
  19. I hope January pans out because the long term has February turning to crap.
  20. Yeah, It was a total cluster. I left at 11 and the only way down to the bottom was Homestretch. It was a sand trap with boilerplate in spots. From 9 to 10 it was great. The conditions were pretty good.
  21. Some people aren’t happy unless they’re complaining about something. That’s the best part of the trail when there’s no bumps anywhere. I know what you mean about skiing the soft parts of the bumps. It takes a run or two to re calibrate my brain.
  22. Elk lets Tunchannock bump up and periodically turns the guns on. Kinda weird styrofoam feel afterwards.
