  1. Hopefully a Plattekill powder day. Haven’t decided yet but hopefully Arizona or southwest somewhere before their season ends.
  2. I hope January pans out because the long term has February turning to crap.
  3. Yeah, It was a total cluster. I left at 11 and the only way down to the bottom was Homestretch. It was a sand trap with boilerplate in spots. From 9 to 10 it was great. The conditions were pretty good.
  4. Some people aren’t happy unless they’re complaining about something. That’s the best part of the trail when there’s no bumps anywhere. I know what you mean about skiing the soft parts of the bumps. It takes a run or two to re calibrate my brain.
  5. Elk lets Tunchannock bump up and periodically turns the guns on. Kinda weird styrofoam feel afterwards.
  6. Not a big fan of seeded bumps but I do like bumps. The seeded bumps tend to get rutted and icy . Timing is everything. I would prefer natural bumps but they don’t seem to develop like they used to before snowboard s came out.
  7. Would have been a good day for this brew. Good stuff!
  8. 6-8 th Two chances ( possibly a big one) if all the parts time right. Looks really cold and dry till the end of the month and especially if there’s snow on the ground.

    Boot Fitters

Fortunately I haven’t had to punch my boots but I was thinking an inflatable pipe test ball and heat gun would work. They make short extension hoses . A 2” or 3” ball would work.
  10. Possible snow 6-8th with the cold coming back hopefully all snow.
  11. Arrived at 8:51 Driving was a bit more sketchy than I anticipated. Temps in mid 20’s . Dress and dash. There was a line on the Challenge express so I headed to the quad . Well the quad was delayed so back to Challenge. I wanted to hit Razors and it didn’t disappoint. I hit the quad hoping for some quick runs on razors but it stopped 3 times. I watched Razors get carved up so I hit TCS and it was barely touched. As I got to the steep section I set my edges harder and could feel some cookies. I hit the side country up top and noticed the ditch was looking good just after the top section. It was really nice and I just hung there for the rest of my short time I had today. Bailed at 10:15 Shout out to the kid with the motorcycle helmet and the Rossi’s older than mine.He did a great job ripping the ditch. Also Santa was there and he was on his game!
  12. I call mornings like this Air Hockey days. Groomed with an inch or two on top . 5 th Gear! Going to be sweet!
  13. Drive by photo . They’ll be sucking fish soon out of the main pond. The little pond by the parking lot looks good , not sure about the lower one Overall they look pretty well covered.
  14. The chair 2.0 . Much faster than last year’s 😜
  15. Still good for January!
  16. Nice report although 12/20 was yesterday.. I was waiting for a trip report from yesterday but nobody posted one. I like your format.
  17. The quad is open!
  18. Fun morning, I wish I could have hung around longer. Today/ tonight will be buttery. Good to see the quad bull wheel back together and some snow pushed over.
  19. At least it’s not going to flash freeze. I’ve had a couple times over the years where I got 6” or so then rain and a flash freeze with a cold period afterwards. My old faithful snowblower that starts first pull every time would clog up . Now I use an ATV with a plow. I just need to remember early season to push it back as far as I can. The forecast looks a little warmer at the end of the month but January looks pretty cold with some chances for snow nice storms 🤞
