  1. I got the same pass as last year so I still plan on going to WP since it's close. I really hate day trips on the weekends since I-70 is always terrible. Found a cheap motel downtown WP I may use a few times. Will only have one kid at home next year so it may be easier for me to leave for a few days at a time during the week. We will see.
  2. My season was average. I could have had more days, started out strong, but then didn't ski for a whole month. Got in a few really good powder days (which would have been better if I could ski powder ). I missed the PASR crew since they didn't visit this year. A little bittersweet giving up the place in Winter Park, but hopefully my place in Crested Butte will be done by next ski season. Demolition of the old house starts tomorrow. Builder says 7 months but construction never goes according to schedule. Picked up a good book on training for alpine climbs. Not totally relevant since I don't rock climb but am following their suggestions. My hope is to hike Longs Peak in August. If not Longs then at least a 10-12 mile 14er with 4500' elevation gain.
  3. My head is into warmer activities. Same reason I do not feel like hiking in snow.
  4. I know I just can't get back into the mindset.
  5. ^supposed to snow every day til Monday in the mountains. Was going to do a hike off Guanella Pass but now I guess I will save it for later in the season.
  6. She only sent me 2 pics so far. The harness and angle of the shot is not kind, not crazy about all the "cushion" I seem to be displaying on my back. This was the second rappel called the "midevil chamber." Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Wasn't windy but I ripped the shit out of my hand gripping so tight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Had a great weekend in Moab. Riding home in the van now. 2 rappels; second one was super scary. After 20 feet you lose the wall and floated in space for the last 175'. Don't have too many pics, one girl in the group has a great camera and got some good shots I will post when she sends them to me. Second rappel First rappel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I was in Santa Fe last night. Day trip to Taos today. Home base is Ojo Caliente Hot Springs.
  10. You're welcome and anytime.

  12. I remember when I first moved here I was winded going up the stairs for about a week. My neighbor took me on a summit hike that isn't very high but you gain a lot of elevation in a short distance. My lungs felt like they were burning and I had to take lots of breaks. Go on your hike, take it slow, you can always take breaks and see how you feel to continue.
  13. Actually my older son really wanted to come but he got a new job and started this weekend.
  14. Yes I know pretty pathetic. My own fault really, I do too much for them.
  15. Nope. My kids and husband were all lobbying for me to come home. Mostly because they ate all the food in the house. Hit a yoga class this morning then got on the road Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wow! Was windy but not 100 mph windy.
  17. You are correct. One run was powder almost to my knees. Taking a break f*ck my legs are tired. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Dan it really really was horrible . Doug I had them take most of the furniture out since it was covered in cutesy bears, moose and pine trees. I hate that kind of shit. So most of he furniture I purchased I took with me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Came up last night and met the movers this morning. I convinced them to go back to Boulder without me and gave them the key to my storage unit so I could just stay up here. They were done by 10:50 and I caught the 11:07 shuttle. Wow so empty up here. Snow typical icy higher up, slushy lower down. Took 5 runs and just came in for lunch. I never eat lunch on mountain but am having probably the most awesome butternut squash soup of my life. As soon as I came in it started snowing hard. Windier on the Mary Jane side. Supposed to get 2-4 feet by Sunday. Kids have a 4 day weekend, I am up here alone with no worries and it is awesome! No pics for now. We will see if I'm in the mood later. 20. Don't know how good the snow will be (may be very heavy) but mountains are supposed to get dumped on this weekend. Going up for my last weekend before the place is sold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'm at Winter Park and conditions are the same. Except it's eerily quiet here. Supposed to rain later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Jesus Doug if I knew you were going through Winter Park I would have let you stay at my place tonight, currently empty. Hope you have good snow tomorrow.
  23. Very windy here today. Probably worse in the mountains
  24. ^usually hike alone but today I had a friend join me. I say try it alone if your husband won't go. Drink lots of water and bring plenty of snacks, salty and protein.
  25. Plenty of snow here. Just got back from a 9 mile hike that was 75% snow and slush at around 7500'.
