I have never seen one, so. I thought it was very cool that my first sighting included chicks. I have seen plenty of trip reports where people see them often. They blend in so well I may have walked right by one before.

Saw a Ptarmigan with her baby chicks today. 2 chicks in middle of shot. Very cool to see! Also spotted a very fat and obviously well fed marmot that looked like a small dog.

I hope one of those text messages says Winter Park!

Take some private lessons so I can improve my skiing form. Hang out with my oldest in the mountains as much as possible before he is off to college next year. Actually make it to either Steamboat or Copper since they are on my pass.

You may be right Shadows, but i'll take these views over looking at the same beach in NJ any day.

Nice zzslope! We had a motorcycle camper briefly. It added a lot of weight, ended up selling it.

Those trailers do look interesting. After 6 days and 1400 miles of riding my body is beat up. I couldn't imagine how much worse I would feel if I had to sleep on the ground. Getting a much needed massage tomorrow and yoga. Zzslope next time you go post a picture.

Toast wins Yosemite>Yellowstone. The ride from the northeast entrance (on way out) to Cody was more scenic then the park.

Chain restaurants w no fresh food. Everything arrives via the Sysco truck. Gas station stores for snacks along the way. I would rather drive or go on the motorcycle than fly places. But good to know its only an hour flight. We don't camp when we ride the motorcycle. After riding for 6 plus hours I want a hot shower and comfy bed. Plus we are very limited with space. One backpack each plus rain gear.

Jackson Hole is nice. We only stopped for lunch on our way thru to the park. Don't remember where we ate but it was the first good meal I had in 2 days. That's the only downside of road trips, the shitty food along the way. I would go back again and spend more time there.

I am sure Doug recognizes this. Yellowstone tomorrow.

This time of year hiking in snow is iffy. I have been checking trip reports. Some days if you start early enough you are ok with snowshoes. Sometimes it warms up too fast and by the return trip you are postholing up to your knees. Just too inconsistent. I thought I missed Wawa until I came back last fall. When I went I. There everything looked gross. Yes the pizza is better but I don't eat it that much anymore. Never ate steak sand and we have seafood out here. The trout and salmon is really good.

I would never rip on the Poconos, it is beautiful there too. But no, I don't miss anything about the east coast at all.

It starts on the west side of town in the foothills. Trailhead only a 10 min walk from my house so I hike it often. Boulder is a beautiful place and we definitely get spoiled with the views. You guys should come visit me here sometime!

Sun finally came out this morning. Everything over 10,000' pretty socked in with snow. Getting tired of the in town hikes, want to get up high. Hopefully soon.

I'm thinking of going. But it may be a shitshow this weekend because of all the rain and gloomy weather in town. Trying to talk my older son into going Monday. It would be nice to end the season on a good note. My last ski day in March had pretty terrible conditions.

Feel like I am back in NJ. Nothing but rain here. Rocky Mountain NP getting hammered with snow. May even be worth taking snowshoes up there.
