  1. Late opening. August 2013.
  2. ya, blue mountain is the only place serving free tap water. wait, what are those water fountains doing over there? Most places serve tap water for free. such places that i've gotten free tap water from are Six Flags, Hershey Park, Knoebels, the Trocadero, and every restaurant I've ever been to (most of those establishments seem to be in the business of making money). The only two times I was ever turned was at New Deck Tavern in Philly, and at one of the restaurants at Knoebels. In both cases, I just went to a different server or restaraunt and got water (the waiter at New Deck was pissed after I got a glass from the bartender when the waiter told me they wouldn't serve me a glass of water free of charge. fuck that guy). Sorry for the tangent, I get fired up about this issue.
  3. i also call it disc golf...because that's what it's called. you ever play at Tyler St Park ectobar? it's really nice there. I'm also a fan of sedgely...gotta get there soon.
  4. I learned to ski at Shawnee. Was there about 2 or 3 times when i was 10-11
  5. I do like the tree planting idea. Apparently Elk has been planting thousands of trees each year for the last few decades. Great idea. I love the feel of skiing within the evergreens everytime i'm there. The website is, in fact, ridiculous. It looks like something I could have written by hand in HTML back in 1996, when I was 11 years old. These days I'm pretty sure you could hire an 11 year old for $800 (total) to design a website with flash or some cool shit that looks a lot more professional than what Sno has now. Definitely a good investment (see my next comment for why...) That's all I can contribute without having been to Sno this year. I was there last year, but realistically, Sno didn't do anything special to lure me in compared to their competition. I'd say the website was a big factor here...I'm pretty sure the pictures of Upper and Lower Fasttrack on the conditions page are the same pics from Dec. 2006, and any time I checked the conditions page it did not seem to be updated. Also, at the times when I was looking to come to Sno, they weren't 100% open and I had better options. Plus, the website looks like it was made by an 8 year old...who would want to patronize that business? I see lots of potential for Sno, but they've got to make me want to drive all the way up there to give them my hard earned money. Make me feel like you mean business.
  6. I'm going to VT on Saturday to ski with a friend, should we go to Mad River Glen or Sugarbush?
  7. ya i was right. decided to sleep in instead.
  8. jesus christ. i just got in...don't think i'll be there by 8. we'll see.
  9. Hey all, I will be there tomorrow. If anyone wants to meet up give me a call (m: 267-481-2072) or post a time/place. Does anyone have a day pass or a spring fling coupon i could use? Oh looks like pond skimming is tomorrow? sweet, i'm in.
  10. Nice...that game is stump...we should have a PASR get together in the summer and play. I always keep a hammer and a few pounds of nails in my trunk just in case, and you can get a stump anywhere. I usually head up to Blue with my friends, and they usually aren't as motivated as I am (or you guys are) to leave Philly early enough to arrive for first chair. I'll typically get there around 10am. Probably getting there with my brother this Sunday around 10am...if things fall through and I'm flying solo I'll be there earlier. Maybe I'll meet up either way.
  11. I've skied with TTC6 and I think I met someone else briefly that same day. Otherwise, no (and i've been on here for 3 seasons now and have been to Blue many times...time to meet more PASRs).
  12. I hope to be at Blue on Sunday.
  13. wow, challenge looked awful. what the hell were they thinking?
  14. I have a voucher for a Day lift ticket to Elk Mountain that I bought at Buckman's ski shop last month. I may not get back to Elk this season. I'll sell it to someone here for $40. Anybody interested? PM me.
  15. Sorry, I forgot, you're supposed to ski straight down the center of a halfpipe. my bad. And no, I couldnt find any pics. Sno's website wasn't exactly built using 21st century technology (** see attached). I have no idea where the pics are at. so no, i don't have an idea. ** attached:
  16. No pics of anyone getting HUGE air?
  17. I also forgot today was president's day. I got to enjoy slightly less crowded train rides to and from work
  18. Meant to say in the last post...I was pleased with the results. Also, I have a tuning season pass at Buckman's since I don't always have time to tune them myself. I wanted the complete tune (base grind and binding check and whatever else I can't do myself) in the beginning of the season. This cost me $60 (just $10 than the one-time only complete tune) total...has definitely been worth it so far, and I'll probably get a few more tunes before the end of the season. Season pass or not, they can rush your tune for $8/3 day turnaround or $15/1 day turnaround.
  19. There's a place in Media that I went to a few years ago...I forget exactly what it's called but i'm pretty sure it was Media Ski and Snowboard Shop. When I went I paid $20 for wax and edges and they turned my skis around overnight.
  20. If Blue starts charging for parking, I'm buying a few shuttle buses and an empty lot nearby...

    park?

That's not really a new park, they just haven't updated their trail map. They've had that this year and the last two years (at least).
  22. Did he say what was so pressing that he had to get home? Where'd you have to take him?
