  1. UTA is ok, but you will spend some time on the bus to get to the mountain, and you are on their schedule. It clearly works, but i wasnt a huge fan, i would definitely rather have a car. Chains.....i highly doubt you will leave the rental place with a set of chains. To them, you might as well have requested a hammer to beat the outside of the car with. Rental companies dislike having chains on their cars, not saying it doesnt happen, but when chains break or are not installed correctly, they will beat the living shit out of the front fenders. a couple options..... Rent an AWD, downgrade when you get there based on the forecast. its much harder to upgrade to the AWD when you booked the smart car, and its snowing. Stick with the smart car, and take the bus if its going to snow. Just try to get on the earliest bus to hopefully beat some people. Just be careful which company you rent from. those prices are attractive due to the fact you have to take a shuttle to get to their lot. i find that to be a pain in the ass as well. here are the car companies for SLC. Some are also not open 24 hrs, so a delayed late flight, or an early departure could cause problems. https://www.slcairport.com/parking-and-transportation/rental-cars-2/ Book a car without giving a CC for deposit or whatever. Its so easy to cancel, rebook, and rebook again.
  2. I just checked Budget - i got a Ford Edge using coupon code R524190, for $494. Feel free to use it. i found it on the internet. You could also try Autoslash.com, fill out their form with when, where, what, and they will email you #'s from several car companies. Rental car prices are all over the map for some reason. Book, re-book, then book again. you will get that down a bunch i bet, and get into an SUV.
  3. I put 2 in mine. Its made for 2 pairs, has wheels so you just drag it around rather than try to carry it with everything else you got going on. If you want to borrow it, its yours.
  4. i have always used a bag. i put my pants, jacket, sweatshirt, etc in there to give a little cushion. Ski bags with wheels are a huge plus. Carry on your boots.
  5. Late for first chair. https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=86e_1486755678
  6. Whats a Vermont omelette? Omelette with syrup? I like cake more than pie. Not that whipped icing bullshit though.
  7. Way to get after it !!!! You there for tomorrow/Monday? Looks snowy tomorrow afternoon.
  8. Just took a quick look at the webcams at Camelback. Dont really know about skiing right onto the chair at 10 am, but at 2:15 it looks a little busy. Real busy, actually. Well, really it looks like some type of shit show. They should really point that camera at the sky on weekends.
  9. Lol....i forgot this but, that is exactly where i ended up.....in someones driveway. And you are right, holds snow real well. i was just having such a good time playing in there, i just kept going without really paying attention to where i was really heading. That was a pretty long walk. In the area below where the last pics were taken, we came across some boarded up cabins, which was kinda odd, they were really in the middle of no where.
  10. Heading to denver. From there, we shall see.
  11. Too many terrain parks? Lots of boarders?
  12. Did you ever go to Big Boulder before Peak bought it? It was basically failing. Peak turning it into a big terrain park kept it going. So, next time you ski BB, like early season, thank a park rat. #homestretch_issues #boarder_problems #avoidresortswithterrainparks
  13. Pics make this look like it has the same pitch as homestretch, but its quite the opposite. I really enjoy Brighton. Parking lot was packed when we left, but liftlines were nothing, not having to do the human slalom to ski groomers at a good clip was nice. From the looks of the line at the ticket window at 4pm, it looks like they di quite a good business night skiing. The trails for night skiing werent all bombed out either.
  14. JF is far from boarder free. I skied there on a season pass for 5 yrs.
  15. It is. Oddly enough, it might be more crowded today than monday.
  16. Yup. Thats what it says now. Thats not what it said at 7:30 am. Is what it is. Not regretting being at brighton today for sure.
  17. I still fucking love this place. Not real sure how they got off on reporting 7" overnight, but they didnt get anything. Its a good "day aftrr the storm" type conditions. Can still locate some nice pockets of deep stuff, but it is on the heavier side. Trees are still good. Mixing in some nice groomers so we can keep it going till the bell rings. Stopped this morning to pick up a pair of nordica enforcer 100 to demo. Nice ski. They only had it in 169, and i think i would really like to be in the 183 range. Lunch is over. Enjoy the day tomorrow, it looks like Blue will get the goods. Maybe even skitoLive will make it out. Oh, wait, powder makes homestretch even less managable. I hate that.
  18. What you made clear is that "in spring conditions its a chore for you getting down Homestretch" "An expansion for marketing reasons rather than to improve the experience for skiers." So, adding 2 terrain parks (central park, and terrain run) didnt improve the experience for skiers? Oh, sorry, they didnt improve the experience for you. got it. I'm pretty sure these two trails wouldnt exist if they didnt move the lift down to where it is now.
  19. I have seen lots of 6-10" thrown around. I thought it was supposed to snow mostly during the day? We get back into PHL tomorrow at 3:40 pm. I guess i need to start paying attention to this a little more. Hope you guys get the goods at Blue to freshen things back up a bunch. It might make up for one or two of those days where sugar was on the menu. Dont forget, widowmaker will be deep. ski with a buddy, beacon, shovel, etc.
