  1. Rode with Mixil this morning and it was super nice spring slush. Some bigger brown spots too make it alot more interesting but nothing crazy. Coming Soon, Razors have generally very good coverage and I think the only new closure is the bottom of widowmaker. Absolutely nobody home and no rain made for a longer session. I feel like I gotta ride tomorrow but I also hate riding when it's pouring hopefully it's just a light mist.
  2. If you can get up the tin can the stuff off no name is great. You probably can't see it put on a decent vis day you can see the lower lot from the top too so not that I would ever advocate but it's excellent slack country.
  3. FKNA that is sick ! You got pow mow at the right time !
  4. Niiiice ! Milli side is a playground at Brighton. Maybe someone else remembers the names but while both pow countries are good the one has better terrain and sits on the cooler side for snow.
  5. I had some time in the late afternoon and got up. Nobody home and the weather was super super nice. Snow was straight taters but with the exception of challenge soft enough you could plow through. The brown is creeping for sure but they blew in a bunch of spots and for the most part it's nothing serious.
  6. I was like I'll just lay down for a second when I got home and I just woke up lol lol Today was most excellent, enjo as always was the mother fucking mvp and nobody anywhere does it better. The v2 skis are a piece of art work and a masterclass lesson in malicious compliance. Arcing those down falls is next level and those Russian dudes the make skis to hunt mink would be soooo jealous. Unbelievable day and is was a fucking privilege to share it with all of you.
  7. The bird is the word It's one of the best, it always feels like the mtn is mad at you while your skiing there but in a sexy mistress telling you you've been naughty kinda way. Most of the place is seemingly designed to be uncomfortable, beit the lodge or the tram it's always cramped and there is no where to sit down. The weather can be terrible and off the tram in particular its always windy and you can't see shit. Every way down seems steep or steep AF, there are like 2 legit greens everything else is a cat walk. It's one of my favorites on earth and very different from other hills even the other bro bra type hills. It's super challenging and if I could have grown up skiing only one hill it would probably be the bird.
  8. Rode this morning with Mixl and root. At first I thought the weather man was smoking crack as it was raining hard most of my drive up but 15 mins or so before 9 it cleared up and got super super nice out. They took a bit of a beating in coverage, on switch the groomer got into it a bit and now has a large racing stripe for 200ft. NM/DW is just plain thin most everywhere. The snow was absolutely fantastic, perfect hero snow and generally very smooth. Set them up and let them go all day with low crowds. Challenge was perfect for the first hour and razors wasn't far behind. Really really excellent spring skiing hopefully they are open during the week next week.
  9. Today was super good, particularly for later in the season. Always dope to show up and see the guns going pretty hard and there is no evidence they are closing soon. Challenge was rotd which is rare but it was full steam ahead kind of snow and it's a real treat when you get truly let them fly. From early on in my skiing days to now the roll over at the top is a great way to start a trail. I didn't think coming soon was that bad but I think it was very dependent on what lane you were in as it was very firm underneath. Crazy it's Pina colada weather out now
  10. Rode this morning, saw BFG and root from the lift. They blew all over last night and coverage has improved. They were blowing on Vista, Coming soon and the top gun on challenge when I was there. Crowds were non existent and the wind was strong but nothing crazy. Everything other than razors was a nice winter like carpet that was generally fast and had good grip. Coming Soon in particular had that super nice spongy fresh blown and you could full speed arc down the lower headwall. Who knows but hopefully all this blowing means they will be open next week.
  11. Had a window around lunch time and with the countdown on wanted to get up. Shit was a mist to a hard rain so not a blockbuster yet by anymeans. Negative crowds, for every person that showed up two left but I did see Jimmmmmmmmmy and Harold. Snow was spectacular consistent slush and you could do whatever you want with the ski. The caveat of course is between a heavy fog on the upper 2/3 and rain Stevie Wonder could see better so you could only let them go in spots. Browns town coming through all over the place and lower DW you gotta get out your compass and sextant as its a little bit of a navigational challenge. Super fun smash and grab type outing and hopefully the rain wants to change over a bit sometime soon.
  12. Xtal is super good and I heard less crowded post Ikon though most of the steeps are not groomers and not super steep.
  13. Weather was a 10000% improvement over yesterday and the snow was maybe the same. Switch and coming soon were good and the ditch was great. Man it is like black hole kinda dark there in the morning post dls. Massive massive addition to our live styles of the rich and famous, lift hot dogs ! Hot hot dogs on the lift are 12/10 and as always Enjo put on a feast....I came home stuffed
  14. Coming up over the top first thing this am was absolutely spectacular, the snow caked trees gave it a real Christmas at the north pole kinda look. Switch I thought was really good full speed uneven and they added a 3rd spot to get air which I always appreciate. Coming Soon and the middle ditch in particular were very good. The weather wasn't the best to sit around in and you couldn't see shit for awhile but with the multi color snow no need to see it anyways. Major props to Dirty for the Heady Topper, one of the absolute best.
  15. When I woke up this morning my first thought was put me in coach.....shit is catchy
  16. Today was soooo nice and it's a rare day at blue where it has surpise depth. First run I went NM/DW and I almost couldn't believe it was untracked titty sparkles. It probably snowed about 2" but the wind made for deeper turns on more sheltered lines and it was a most excellent way to start the day.
  17. I'll be there l, mad stoked to ski and not work
  18. I had meetings all morning and stuff tonight so I could only get up around lunch. Snow was fantastic, soft infinite grip spring cream cheese. Saw root in line and bfgs crew was bbqing but otherwise pretty quiet.
  19. I've skied both as have some others. If it was me it would come down to a couple of factors. How much driving you want to do ? What I'll call the party rocking factor and the big dog weather. UT is probably much faster to get around and to and from the airport. There is an early morning direct on Delta from phl that pretty much someone from my family takes every couple days. It almost always goes and you can be skiing by 1130 noon same day. BCC and LCC have been a complete cluster fuck though it sounds like your not looking there. Washington isn't that much harder as Seattle is convenient and generally out of the winter weather but the hills are spread out more and some are a bit of work to get to, like Baker. The big factor I would say is weather. UT probably has the best odds for big ass pow days in the lower 48 if you're just like showing up. It snows alot and potentially huge amount particularly this season. The PNW on the other hand can be just as good but generally has more fickle weather with alot more rain as the hills are also alot lower. Also it's way way way heavier snow though at least personally I do like the cement it's not the 3% diamond dust in UT. The PNW definitely kills on the culture/party rocking factor. UT is alot better than 20 years ago and you can get fancy wasted at the vintage room and what not but it's either going to pricy or not as good. Any random brewery will also be alot better than whatever they are calling the new Squatters but UT does have good beer. The terrain is very different, the trees and general way they look too. UT is very pretty in spots and also very ugly. PNW looks like Jurassic Park during winter and is insanely green. Volcanos are fucking dope but so are bristle cone pines. I don't think there is a right answer but I would also think about adding a day at the big dog hills in either area. Pow Mow can be the best pow day you've ever had but it's not Alta or the Bird even remotely. Mission Ridge in Was I heard has been running like Steven's Pass last year and just the drive to Baker is a great adventure. UT has better hotels in better areas if your not spending any real effort in looking. You can just roll into Ogden or something and the Best Western will be decent whereas parts of Washington they are closer to the population centers. Also and I'm probably not objective but UT has better Mexican food as they have alot more Mexicans. Red 1 preferably, Red 2 is pretty much the same but never Blue when in SLC.
  20. I had about an hour and half around lunch time and it wad quite good snow. Fast and with alot of grip, minimal lumps for the amount of water in the snow. You can forget how pretty it can be when all the brown is covered up in snow.
  21. Already there, North Carolina. Depending on when I get back I might be able to ski tomorow. Feels like forever
  22. I had to make a last minute trip for work which guarantees you guys will get some goods. 5-8 seems possible if your on the all snow side.
  23. What happened to your foot ? Good to hear they are going whole hog
  24. Heard it's cold AF from a friend in Revel. Stay warm and post some pics when you get there, never enough interior BC stoke.
