  1. 8" to 10" overnight at stowe, mostly mashed with some crunchyness. Good time for sure but not what I was looking for, maybe Jay tomorrow. Word is most of lower Vt. is closed due to icing. Killy, Slokemo, Mt Slow, Bromley all closed.
  2. 1-2" last night Word is a foot + is on the way - Havride was good this morning and we may check on what is going on in the gondy area - gondy no running

The little america is like 100 buck a night and is pretty damn nice for what you get. That is in SLC on 600 so its close to some shit. The Pavilion is supposed to be nice and wicked cheap like as low as 60 bucks a night but I've never stayed there. It is in the Murray Cottowood heights area so it is close to the skiing. Homestead is in Mid-valley and is as cheap as it gets, as far as I know, maybe 50 a night. Its pet friendly and maybe 15 miles from BCC/LCC, word was that it wasn't great but I don't know personally. There is an Extended Stay that is wicked close in Union that is in the 60's but its run down. Clean but noisy and the furniture feels like it was purchased in the FDR era. There are a butt ton of cheap options in Sandy, S. Jordan and Airport area but I don't know anything about them. DH may know.
  5. Good news ... A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN MOHAWK VALLEY...SCHOHARIE VALLEY...GREATER CAPITAL DISTRICT...LAKE GEORGE SARATOGA REGION...NORTHERN TACONICS AND ALL OF SOUTHERN VERMONT FROM LATE THURSDAY MORNING TO FRIDAY AFTERNOON. 4 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW...ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION OF SLEET POSSIBLY TOTALING ONE HALF TO ONE INCH OR GREATER IS EXPECTED. IN ADDITION...ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE FROM ALBANY EASTWARD TO THE NORTHERN TACONICS AND ALL OF SOUTHERN VERMONT. THE HIGHEST SNOW TOTALS ARE EXPECTED TO BE NORTH AND WEST OF THE CAPITAL REGION. A MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET WILL DEVELOP LATE THURSDAY MORNING INTO THURSDAY AFTERNOON FROM SOUTH TO NORTH ACROSS THE AREA. THE PRECIPITATION WILL INITIALLY BE LIGHT...THEN BECOMING HEAVIER LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. SOME FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE AS WELL...WITH THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ICING EXPECTED TO OCCUR FROM ALBANY EASTWARD. MIXED PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE BACK TO SNOW FRIDAY MORNING...WITH A FEW ADDITIONAL INCHES OF ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE. LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP IN THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S. TONIGHT...AND TRACK NORTHEAST ON THURSDAY TO THE MID ATLANTIC REGION...ALONG A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY. THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING... THE LOW WILL TRACK FROM ALONG THE NEW JERSEY COAST TO THE EASTERN TIP OF LONG ISLAND...THEN TO MAINE BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE STORM WILL DRAW PLENTY OF MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO...RESULTING IN A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION. A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE. I'm skipping out on work for the rest of the week and leaving for VT tonight, travel tomorrow night may be impossible as icing could be a real mother.
  6. what a weird storm......me thinks someone at NOAA is drunk.
  7. What's happening is that some features have set up that force storms to stay west of the apps and push warm air up ahead of them then once they pass, the cold air sloshes back in behind them. Three times since october this has happened, hopefully the system will change and we can get a more regular season.
  8. The models keep on changing in terms of when the precip will get here and what type for points further north. Right now it looks like you can get in early, I'm going to bet if you check tomorrow morning they will have a better idea. Lets hope it gets here super fast with this cold air over place it would be an epic storm.
  9. Love this idea.....I heard Loveland got 80" or something in the last few days so stop holding out on us Ice Coasters and post some pics
  10. Exactly, here are the relevant pages from the 05-06 tech manual. All companies release tech manuals that you can easily get a hold of if you try. If you want the full manual pm me you e-mail address and I will send it to you.

Have faith the Great Salt Lake shall provide...
  12. Did I F that up ? Maybe that's another Mt........then what the hell is the name of that area with all the little chutes kinda.......
  13. Thanks for keeping us updated, I was worried the rain would have really killed things. BTW that software is pretty killer.
  14. If your flexible, Magic. Magic is in S. Vt and is a gnar gnar little mountain. Crowds are non-existent, lots of excellent trees and very cheap. Lots of additional terrain around back that used to be another mountain. Wens is group night 80$ for as many as you can fit in your car, I think the limit is 7 so that's like 11 bucks a ticket. Regular ticket is 39-54, if you don't mind earning your turns Magic is free. The issue with Magic is they don't make snow so you have to be vigilant in watching their base and when snow is going to fall. If you hit it right though it will be a day for the record books. Burke is $57 and MRG is 39 -60....the burliest mt. in the N.E. Cochran is only $20 all day every day.
  15. They are kings of the sit and slash, I don't think anyone does it better on the EC.....you can spot him from like ten miles away due to poles. Stowe is bulletproof until later in the week.
  16. Isn't gobbler's knob some where in that area too ?
  17. Mt. Snow has all the ambiance and feeling of skiing at Bear Creek. Killy and Stowe have tons of nice greens and blues. Killy in fact has the nicest green on the EC, Great Eastern. And unlike most of S. VT. you actually feel like your in the mountains too. S. Vt. has Bennington and the battle monument that looks like a penis, N. Vt. has Burlington, UVM and Magic Hat.
  18. Stowe - They have a waffle haus in the gondy station, Magic is a good value but not a good mountain for the whole family. Don't go to Slokemo, Mt. Slow or Stratton - outside of early/late season these mountains should me avoided at all costs Time to go is the 40,000 dollar question, late feb/early march is normally good but who knows.... the EC is finicky bitch sometimes.
  19. There was one in Ohio two or three years ago, it happens more than you would think. Midwest and Midatlantic retards blow high water content snow on natural low content snow. Grass isn't actually all that great of a bed and pow you got yourself your very own slab avy in MD.
  20. Yer fucking shitting me, right ? What op did you run out of ? High North would be the only one I could see letting people take a rip at it. My big life goal is to one day rip the shit out of some massively fluted line like that .
  21. ehh math was never my strong point......
  22. If you live in State College their used to be a bunch of old heads that would go all the time, ask around and I'm sure you could make it a group thing. Knob is the best mountain in PA by far.....
  23. Its supposedly the steepest run anywhere though that's kind of a bogus stat. People say its 78 degrees but I think they may be confusing grade with degrees, if that is the case it would be in the 50-60 degree range. 50-60 is steep but doable, where as 78 would mean maybe .001 percent of the population could hack it. With the number of people who have skied and the way it looks from pictures I would imagine its in the low 50's. Now something like this is a whole nother ball of wax Storm Troopers
