    I kinda from time to time want to ask... Do you ever speak in court? And if or when you do, and if you speak the way you write, is the judge as surprised as the BMR you're passing on slopes?

    Mbike once came to meet me at work to borrow some avy gear for WF and he walked right past me. There is a guy i work with now that apparently skis at blue but he would never recognize me. I don't take it as an insult, most people are very boring and have no range. I am very good at what I do, be it skiing, work, fucking....what you would find funny is I do alot of speaking for cles and in work townhalls, I'm also good at that.

    I hate passing 'cause I can never time it properly, esp. if someone goes edge to edge, or if that someone is on a board who's moving like some brownian particle. What I lately found works the best is the contrarian approach. You aim to hit the guy, and by the time you get close, he'll invariably make another turn and clear the way.

    This is the way, but when you get at passing distance whatever way they set their feet go the opposite. It's an arc like a car, so it's not possible to occupy the same space if your timing is right. It's like passing a semi, don't fuck around pass or stay behind.

    They have VIP lines?? First time I hear, but it's not like Blue has them any longer.

    What does their routine look like on a weekday morning? Both expresses running? Any lines to report, or slow lifts to detour if expresses are choked?

    Quad and new sixer run, all three got lots of new netting to make fancy cattle chutes and all threw have designated season pass lines after Sunday.

    Weekday the old sixer only ran Monday when it was packed, like Saturday packed and my guess is it's only going to run if it's super busy.  The ikon people I talked to Monday seem to be gone but thats just randos I happen to talk to.

    Besides Monday it's been ski on at least until early afternoon, my gut says the super packed lines shit is a weekend/rando ikon day thing that will be harder to predict and consequently be a tough one for blue.

  3. Lessons you cut the line because it's almost always timed and you pay out the ass plus it's assumed the instructor will fill chairs.

    BMR are a necessary evil I think,  too much money for them to turn down and I do like going by them as they don't get passed alot so they are always surprised.

    My absolute favorite is when they are dicking around mid lower main strung out horizontaly like Christmas lights. You get the motor going and from the very top just go straight at them, do not deviate do not for even the billionth of a second unsquare your body from the fall line, go faster and faster directly at them and watch them squirm.

    You want to have a confab every 10 turns gtfo the trail or at least line up and down the hill.

    Someone I know used to like to use them and ski patrol on challenge as gates, one time he got so close going so fast I swear the dude pooped his pants. Good times

    i think ikoners are not passholders.  i think they will need to work on that, but i'm on board with the changes at least from this side of the internet.

    I'm just glad to see some improvement, I'm sure it will be nuts to butts but some simple things will really help.

    Interested to see if they are ready tomorrow, all week they've been good but it's easy when it's empty.

  5. Rode from 9 to 11, c1er and Oz in the house otherwise empty didn't even see BFG's crew.

    Main was hard stiff resonator cord with odd debris piles, lazy and dis held softer turns and the big right was in good shape to slut it up.  Headwall of coming soon was also pretty firm but smooth enough that it didn't matter.

    The dis runout continues to confound the beginners which at the very least is fun to watch.

    I would imagine there will be an hour or two where it's perfect hero snow as it was slowly getting softer.

    It was pretty quiet overall but you can tell there are more people early, I imagine this weekend with be quite busy.

    Skied with a dude named Jack on armadas, he was keen perhaps to make aquanticies so if he shows up here he's legit.

    20 minutes per wait for normal people with lift tickets.... For us VIP season pass holders in the new and improved VIP line to be implemented soon, it'll be a 20 second wait !!!

    They actually had season pass lanes set up today on both lifts. It has a designated cattle chute and everything.

  7. I had a window on the swing shift, Kurt's crew was soaking up the sun but pretty empty.

    Super super good hero snow, set it and forget it all the way top to bottom main, lazy was super good just effortless arcs and even coming soon was pretty smooth.

    The run out of pdis is brown town lumpy af again but a super super nice day to let them run.

    I didn't do Vista midway but I heard they filled in the death gap.

    Nice report wish I could be there.  Work today was stupid…I have a 20 ounce Mountain Dew for you the next time I see you.  I was gonna treat myself to a Gatorade from the vending machine after clearing my car off and hit D6 instead of B6 SMH…

    Work is stupid everyday. Today and tomorrow I'm on the swing shift as I have a bunch of dumb meetings in the morning. I bet first thing tomorrow is going to be pretty good.

  9. Rode from 11 -1, very good soft snow,  minimal lumpiness but enough to keep speed at level 9.

    Overall the hill did remarkably well, though for those that like to travel at speed be very careful at the waterbars, the end of dis and the crossover from Vista to midway both are sporting 2x1 ft chasms that are best delt with in the air.

    Main has a big fucking hole from all the water running underneath but otherwise held fast super grip arc arc arc turns.

    Nobody was home which is the best condition and it was super nice to let them fly. First thing in the morning when it's still smooth you could really let them run.

  10. Don't forget Rona, mad people had to go play outside and turns out touching grass is actually pretty dope.

    Bikes are the same way, mad people stopped riding once things went back to kinda normal but mad people found out they loved it. I'm not besmirching them just saying there are way more people outdoors now.

    Has anyone seen what the selection of bindings looks like at the Blue mountain shop?  Want to use my pass discount to get some pivot 15’s and wondering what assortment of colors they might have.

    I'm pretty sure they only have the Henrik harlut 2.0 but I'll double check today. My daughters school was delayed two hours so I'm on the early afternoon schedule but last I checked they had no gold, ripper or the Evo pattern.

    I’ve thought about that, as well. Only problem is where would you go locally?

    No idea, they have us who come from the SW in a bind but its more to shadows point that nobody will put up with endless shenanigans.

    Running a business is running a business.

    Make customers happy.  they come back.  its really pretty fucking simple dude.

    KSl/Alterra is literally a property company, they exist to make loot off of the property they own but lots and lots of that property only has value because of skiing. DV has lots of nice shit but no way everyone is driving all the way up there past 9000 other places if there is no skiing or it really sucks hairy ball sack.

    You can sell $30 lobster rolls because one they are fucking delicious and two because their groomers which their clientele is after are fucking immaculate and even more importantly the entire experience from the time they show up to they leave is generally quite good.

    I've skied at blue for like a decade now in the winter it's more my home than my home but if everytime I show up it's a zoo I'd ski elsewhere.

    Keep those fingers crossed.  this would be like 4-5 days straight of spraying snow if it holds.

    Accuweather kind of agrees.  maybe just a touch warmer, but still, these would be the best temps we have seen.

    Noaa says 19 low for Palmerton on Sunday, production is so much better the colder and colder it gets so sharpen your harpoons could be whaling season.

    Chute?  that had the least amount of snow on it of anything for some reason. lol.  I dont know if its just me, but im pretty leary about going off trail at Blue until it snows, rains just a little, then freezes.  Theres a lot of junk strewn around everywhere at Blue.

    Thats it, how could I forget Le chute

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I think I said it in the og thread but ikon was a bad idea, the problem at Blue has rarely been there aren't enough people but rather they cannot execute at the kind of level necessary to keep them as customers.
    You go gonzo on the tickets have a person directing traffic so over the hill isn't an hr procedure. Same on when they cross the street with clear signs on where they are going.  Neither lodge can handle those kinds of peeps, its not spruce goose at stowe, the ticket thing is always weird and if you have any issues you have to wait in a mad long line at the desk.
    That's all before they even gotten on the snow, if your checking out hills on Ikon or whatever would you come back ?
    I would be pretty surprised if this lasts all season or even post rain event. No matter how long I've skied my whole life people ask me those same dumb ass questions about like is there any snow after a .10 rain event.....which is finally paying off if all these peeps go to the zoo or something.
