Last year they got super lucky iirc it was a narrow window to get anything open and then it got super sketch before the slow addition of trails but I distinctly recall us mentioning had they not gone hard in that first shot it would have taken another couple weeks.

It's hard watching the other places get cold and snowy and Tuesday it's supposed to be nearly 70.
It will get cold but every year I feel like I get more and more impatient but even dec 1 is a good start.

I dont know why we even ask blue because the answer is always the same, be it the endless peeps asking when sidewinder is opening or this thing where they picked a number out of a hat......when it gets cold. The best weather peeps can do is say next month it's likely to be warmer or cooler than avg and maybe give you temps 10 days out.
Sometimes the slow start years make up for it at the end, I'd trade two weeks of wrod for some legit storms any year.

That totally goes, I would say that's beyond fast grass and into actual skiing. I don't care what anyone says Killy even in their coke fueled bright lights ASC days has been and continues to have skiing at its core. Mad places would not attempt such Tom foolery, shit there are tons of places that don't open until 50"+ has fallen from the ski but Killy keeps it real......it's 29 turn the fucking snow cone machines on and the moment we can get a plausible amount of snow down it's kick the tires and light the fires and shits off

99% of that stuff is vinyl with a carbon fiber print on top. Real carbon fiber parts are expensive AF and in general you need to be in something spendy or has spendy parts plus has to actually move fast rather than look fast.
Generally you can tell because real CF has better depth but some of the vinyl is very good.

I would think it's a combo, generally aluminum holds a crappy edge and would be more prone to deformation as its strength isn't great. You have to ask someone smarter than me but as you move up the hardness scale it gets more brittle so you dont actually want something super super hard. You could probably do it with some kind of alloy but it would be way too expensive for minimal weight savings. With reasonable care rust isn't normally an issue obviously tp4's was prior to him obtaining possession.

Gummy stone or half a run in the sand and it will be gone. Hate when stuff shows up like that but like 10 mins in the right environment and there is some rust on the edges.

I already get an ikon every year but I don't like this, acerage was already in high demand and there are a mother fuck ton of EC peeps who have ikons to ski somewhere out west who will now pop into blue a few times a year.
It was inevitable but I doubt come the end of the season anyone is like thank God blue is on ikon.

I don't know all the details but they are putting one of those kop style condo/apt/ mini inclosed communities in Rose Park which was always a working class area of SLC. I think it's more the straw that broke the camels back but peeps where all out of shape about the end of old ut. I don't know what the answer is but I just tell people the best skiing in UT is at PC.

Up at DV they have a Top Golf in the St. Regis. It's the smaller swing suites but it's a real good time with food and drinks and all that, plus it's good spot for all ages. If you go up the road don't miss Goldener Hirsch. I also highly highly highly recommend a stop at Salt outside on the deck at the St. Regis or in the Vintage Room. The truffle pizza is le tits and they added a lobster roll that is to die for. Ski all morning,then eat a lunch of nothing but lobster roll and oysters while on the deck in the sun... now that's living.
My brother loves the shopping but it's all too much Patagonia for me, we Norwegians is dope though.
Town lift has been weird since covid, if your staying somewhere and your plan is to use the town lift I would pay alot of attention to the start of the season and when it's running. Mad peeps had to change plans and drive down when it's late/not running, plus then your totally fucked on getting a spot.

The fucking gondola/real estate scam I think will only make shit worse but it is some of the best skiing anywhere so hard to say it's surprising. My uncle basically lives on the other side all winter and he says it's all dependent on the day. Holiday weekends and mega dumps you gotta be at the bottom by 6 but other days particularly mid week you drive right up. Weirdly Brighton has been very difficult. Parking at Albion has become hectic af if you can get a spot.

How in the fuck do you all already know where your going ? I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow let alone February........ the only one that is burning a hole in my brain is Revelstoke and I have an ikon so hell or high water. I'll probably go to UT but I think it's a warm vacation Christmas year idk.
It will just be so impossibly nice to ski, I'm hoping side goes this year then it will be like a whole new trail.
