  1. Can't believe I forgot but they skied EVERYTHING yesterday, every rock infested stump field, every lift line with cinder blocks and spine breaker concrete pads, come around park looks near groomed. It's impressive everywhere really but whatever the one next to midway was literally ridden down to the grass and rocks which I think is my favorite.

Wonder how the true Mountain is today? I hear no one skis there anymore, it's too crowded

Rode with C1er and Atomic, snow was obviously pretty good,  upper main left side in the sun was set it and forget it at maximum speed. Lower started to come apart quick with all the water in the snow but was fine while we were there.

Lazy was very good again as was coming soon though a bit harder snow and more ripples right before the exit to pdis.

Razors was opened left side ungroomed if refrozen icy mogul/luge tracks are your thing.

Some of the best snow this year to rip but not as good as you might think.  Old sixer was moving but only quad and new sixer were loading while we were there.

Unsurprisingly it was busy early and only picked up,  nothing like yesterday but by 1015 it was out the cattle chutes and we peaced out.

Super nice day to get some hot laps in with Atomic, new skis where the trail runs out he's stupid fast. Not home stretch hero, like full radius turns. Shame it's been tough with the crowds and now the weather is coming but I have decent hopes post monsoon.

  3. I've skied smuggs in a absolute monsoon, stood in line forever to go up Collins or at Dv over Christmas, fuck I skied Spring Mt for 12 hrs the day they opened and endless shit fuck snow but this might be the worst day on skis.

You can say so many things about blue but overall is the same thing everywhere with KSl/Epiq suck the value out while increasing prices. Let them have their days where they make bank but the amateur hour at the Apollo stuff is just embarrassing. They are in a tough spot with the weather but you gotta be smarter shit it's not like you don't know how many tickets you've sold.

Outside of the blue shenanigans everything else was top notch. Mtn looked awesome and the snow in the morning was super nice.  Major props to enjo for cooking up a feast to make up for the epic lines.

They are getting anhilated on IG 200 comments just roasting them 🤣🤣🤣

Not snow here anymore some sort of mixed precip and can hear sleet pellets.  This snowstorm kind of meh so far…gonna check Radar again.  I’ve seen this setup and trend so many times it’s just so predictable.

It still looks like snow at blue on the cams, I could totally be wrong but it looks like a flake ......the biggest moisture is down near Philly and not rotating right for us but there is a far western band that can't miss west of Harrisburg

Up to $110 for the 8 hours ticket for tomorrow. Was $103 this morning.

It will still be busy af, then come March when it's actually good and crazy nice out no one will be there..

Heard the same repeated multiple times while riding the lift.

Ps they can have it in the condition it’s in now 🙃🫤

Heard the same from multiple different people and not just the usual loud dudes.

It makes sense from a dickhead perspective they bring the $$$$ but I still encourage general shenanigans if it snows for real.

They sprayed snow on Raisins for like 24 hrs in marginal temps, right before the last deluge of rain.  They were able to make a shockingly small amount of snow.

When they first turned them on yesterday it was straight water, I was on my way out but there was no nucleus whatsoever.

Still I figured all that blowing last night there would be some kinda pile but it really looked about the same whereas upper main has some depth.

Not bad , Vista side country is velvet.

Wait wait are you the dude with the loaf sticker I was talking to on the lift ?

Props on the float into the hard scrabble, some boulders in there so like I said on the lift that's impressive navigation

  10. Managed to make opening this morning, was surprisingly empty and pretty ok. They blew a bit on the bottom of main but you could still let it go from the top of midway in giant plunging arcs with reasonable smoothness.

Some hard spots around and some major sticky spots anywhere it got even kinda deep from blowing but a solid day and most excellent to see them blowing. Right shoulder of TCS was soft velvet as it was fresh blown on 2 inches but by my last run it was already mixed in pretty good with the much harder snow in the middle/left hand side.

Lazy and upper main for sure, rasins had laughable amounts of production. Under the guns is maybe 6 inches and the far side is still grass.

With decent temps and maybe some natural it should be decent conditions but who knows

Don't tell too many people but snowtubing's bathrooms are way, way better than those in the ski area. There are so many more stalls like at Bucees, it's dank. I can change out of my ski gear in peace without some Jerry knocking on my stall door. It's pretty sick, bro.

Blue needs the old school locker room like in the bottom of DV. Mad peeps are old and want to change indoors so get a decent setup.

  12. Work has been brutal so my only chance to get out was today at 130. It was soooo nice just to stretch the legs and glide but I was surprised how decent main street was.

Some skeet shots and glacial spots around but generally soft and good grip. Around 3 they turned on rasins, upper lazy, upper main and tubing. I had to peace out at 330 but they were still messing with some guns as it is hyper windy and as always it wants to go to Cherryville.

Most interesting was the gentleman discussing the urinals when I went in to pee. They were all about the sensors and what not so maybe we are getting new facilities.

Hi. I will be home alone by myself for three weeks when my wife (God bless her) is out of the country.

What should I do for three weeks/

I want to go use my snowboard. I have Ikon pass. Have to stay in NE though. Where should I go? Are motels safe to stay in?

3 weeks you can get to CO easy and once your there it's at worst the same if not cheaper than say VT. How many times do you get this chance ?

Giving your parameters I would get in the car and start heading north,  you could go up 100vt and hit them all and just keep going up to Tremblant/St Anne or duck off into the real out there stuff in ME. The real answer is to follow the snow but pretty much anywhere in the NE is a days drive so I would skip the bs and start pretty far north.

When I was at Tahoe my bro in laws dad who makes like a million a year took us to supper at the Ritz and my parents gave me shit for ordering a steak…they were like wooo it’s $58 or something…I’m not ordering the mushroom croquettes to save the rich dad $20…gosh.

Who looks at menu prices when somebody else is paying.

Agreed, he knew the deal when he asked you to go so get the steak.  As bad is it is at Blue at least we know the deal. Tahoe looks like blue and last year it was a god damn shangri-la

I skied Northstar at Tahoe 12 years ago at Xmas and was a similar dry start to the season with about two dozen runs open but like ten lifts so was a junkshow. Was the first time I ever paid over $100 for a lift ticket, that was the window price and I’d ski 830-noon and then when debooting would sell my ticket to someone in the lot for $20-30. So for shits and giggled I looked up to see what a ticket at Northstar at Tahoe would cost for tomorrow. They have 26 runs open and ten lifts but some of the runs are terrain parks, connectors and like village run baloney so prob 5-6 herb routes..blue is a bargain in comparison.

I saw Vail hit over 300 for a day, insanity but at least it's Vail. I've skied Northstar and it's cool, you can get a dope breakfast at the Ritz but it's a slightly bigger fancier blue.

@GrilledSteezeSandwich do you know how much natural snow it takes to make up for an inch of manmade? i know wetness is a factor, but in general.

It's not a direct number as it would depend on the water content of the blown stuff that is unknown unless you went and tested.

Super wet natural can do some real good for the base but generally its still mostly air and compacts down to really small amounts.

Think of making a snowball and how much you can compress it with just your hands.

  17. Put your fucking rally caps on its I return from the land of Dolly and the cold hitched a ride.

Guns started last night and they are still going, windows almost all week and minimal underdeveloped snow flakes.

Shit is heating up, wax the big boards, get your purple polo out at least for one week shit looks pretty ok

And, of course, did you check out the bathrooms?

They are allegedly world famous and I can see why, there has to be 80 stalls and a 100 urinals, all immaculate. I didn't even have to go but when in Rome.

A bucees at kop would absolutely destroy, lv too though the amount of land they require would make most of the NE impossible.
