  1. WTB: used snowboard, binding, boots package. Anything at this point would be better than the mid 90s tank and ripped boots I have, I really won't even ride it at the mountain for fear of ridicule.
  2. Was reading about this on the interwebs the other day, can't believe they lost. Repercussions: Tubing hill is essentially cut in half this year. Still looks very fun though. Safe, and fun.
  3. I'm dusting off the K2 pbr brewskis. Hey man, we are all SE PA, the struggle is real. Pokes just get Slightly better temps on occasion.
  4. Hey I'll take any fresh stuff for am shift on saturday. Bring it on we need a coating bad. Don't know how it looks at your mountain but it's awful brown down in macungie so far this year.
  5. New build. dfd, butter box, skate rail, and wood a frame on cascade. black bear got a bunch new, really testing my memory here. pill to down rail. double round rail, 36 footer round rail, old school long flat box, good ole mailbox to stairs, uh uh new blue down fat rail to small end kink a la pic dude posted earlier. and some more I can remember, the flyers won though so theres that.
  6. Good idea. I'm fairly certain Bear makes more money every year on events rather than ski season.
  7. If you wanna pm me your number I can do what I can to help you out if I'm on. I'm there thurs nights and sat mornings, park crew gets vip passes to let our friends ride from time to time.
  8. second job, I'm a full time packaging designer and steel rule diemaker for a print finishing company. Only ever worked there on park crew and this is my 6th season. I always love to see the young patrollers in the park, the customers do nothing but benefit from better response times. That said in the peak of the season it gets pretty wild and I'm pretty sure the patrollers don't have full 6 or 8 hour shifts. We work together with them as much as possible though to keep everyone safe and the relationship between us and them is very good. They know we are quite diligent at helping keep them and the guests as safe as possible, be it gathering equipment, blocking jumps, or just helping them out on scene in any way possible.
  9. Whenever we aren't digging or shaping lips. It's enough skiing for fun to keep me coming back every year and enough diggin and shaping to keep me in shape over the winter, I mean I'm not exactly in my 20s anymore ha. Technically I like to call it quality control, inspecting the park, and monitoring safety of the guests in the parks. One of us has a radio at all times in case we see a major header that we need to call in patrol ASAP.
  10. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Macungie&state=PA&site=PHI&textField1=40.5158&textField2=-75.5543&e=0#.Vpj7m5orLMo I'm not good at posting pics. guess the temps were just coming from the stupid 104.5 radio station I was listening too, doesn't look like 50 here from NOAA I hear the stripers are still biting.
  11. Yup, build went down last night. Can't tell from the webcams what got put in. Don't know why bear ditched the controllable web cams, those things were cool.
  12. F is indeed running. New park build last night, there are now features on Cascade also. Not sure what went in as I had 12 hours in between two jobs when the crew started showing up for the build at 930.
  13. Not super ritzy but the Bookstore in Bethlehem is a cool joint. Who wants to talk about the weather anyway, this winter sucks. Rain this weekend and 50's? I should dig out the drytop and go kayak.
  14. haha my dog sleeps exactly like that every night.
  15. Water? good weight i guess but that's the first I ever heard that. I'd rather use something you can dump under the tires for traction. Still like the idea an old Mainer gave me years ago about keeping two wasted snowmobile treads in the back in case you get stuck to shove under the tires. I guess the idea is to increase traction so you don't get stuck in the first place but still, back up emergency tracks back there always sounded like a good idea to me.
  16. haha you say that like there is another entrance, hiked in from gap road lately? yea that bump was rough, pretty glad they mellowed that as well, wish they would do the same to the speed bumps ha. GSS the yurt is no longer ours, it is now the facilities for all groundhog and raccoon breeding and housing for the entire mountain and huffs church area in general. We flash bomb and tear gas the place any time we have to step foot in there now.
  17. haha thanks Dude. Ok maybe 12 feet was a bad estimate, it's tall though for sure. It's actually just an abstract art piece they are going to adorn the upper lot with.
  18. Yea it's a little early and thin for a dedicated intermediate and advanced type separation of the parks for now. Don't like low? next time you happen to get up there sneak down by the patrol office and check out the big blue round rail A frame they built this summer. Thing looks like it's twelve feet tall or so at the peak. I haven't heard anything yet but I imagine a few more nights of good temps and coverage will quickly lead to a new and bigger build.
  19. If even two flakes fall out of the sky I avoid rt. 100 at ALL costs. Thank god now that I live over in Birdsboro i just take backroads off the top of the mountain toward reading. Glad to hear ya made it out. Any criticism on the park? I haven't been up since saturday.
  20. You regularly attend a karaoke night? wow just WOW Yes Douglas I actually help my wife pay for stuff her children need and enjoy. You know, like a roof over their head and stuff.
  21. I need new boots in the worst way, been riding the same old dalbellos for like 6 or 8 seasons now. Still got the brand new icelantic nomads rkrs in the plastic waiting on binders. House and step kids have completely taken over my budget. I can't even remember the last NEW piece of gear I have bought for any sport let alone skiing.
  22. Even all the lip jumpers were having a blast haha
  23. Lemme try and remember. cannon up top on a very slight upslope, round bar and round bar with a slight drop down from the end of the first to the second, 12ish foot small table top type jump. propane tank lookin thinger but not the propane tank, you know which one I'm talking about. flat box, three small corrugated in a mellow z formation, three round rails in a mellow z formation. steep up to down flat bar, c box. theres a few more, maybe a regular down rail or something, my mind is blanking sorry I worked like 14 hours yesterday between bear and my regular job. Kids had a blast, some even said it was the best opening setup we've had in years, especially considering the lack of snow. Big props to the crew that did the build yesterday morning, I can't believe they got that many features in that fast.
  24. will do, they just did the build this morning so I have no clue what went in. Will know more after working tonight.
  25. Don't know if any of you looked at the trail map but word on the street is that once season gets kicking we are moving family park to that crossroads type area at the top of F chair. http://www.bcmountainresort.com/images/BC_TRAILMAP_2015_v5reducedsize.jpg
