4/8/17 - PA skiing the second weekend in April!
RidgeRacer replied to enjoralas's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
Still kicking ideas around. Looking at places we can drive to. Probably Niagara Falls, Rehoboth or Dewey. Also thinking about Grand Canyon of PA. Definitely going to Pittsburgh for a U2 gig (Philly too). Should be fun -

I'm feeling like a damn slacker sitting here planning summer vacay while you guys are getting after it at BB (and Doug in CO.) -
Have fun man.

All good Douglas. Always happy to talk Pats

Drew Bledsoe is a legend for a number of reasons. He was a great QB and at one point the future of the Patriots franchise. He took the Pats to the SB in '96 against Brett Favre and the Packers. We lost that game but it was new territory and cool just getting there. I've rocked many a Bledsoe jersey back in the day. But despite his great QB play, Drew Bledsoe is known more so for the birth of Sir Thomas of Brady. In 2000, Drew suffered a massive hit in week 2 against the Jets which knocked him out for the season. A then unknown Tom Brady came in to replace Bledsoe, TB12 ripped off win after win that season and ended up winning the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history against the "greatest show on turf" St Louis Rams. Bledsoe's career with the Patriots was essentially finished. He went on to play for Dallas and Buffalo I believe but it was all downhill (pun intended) after that 2000 season. Bledsoe and Brady remain friends. He's a huge skier, U2 fan and owner / proprietor of Double Back Winery. An all around good dude.

Looks like it was by the top lodge / Slopeside. I didn't ski over that way. Noticed it from the bottom.

Did anyone else notice the crane? Looks like they're getting ready to build something.

Just got here. Root just arrived as well and a few others are still in the house. Greeted to sweet spring conditions and a festive atmosphere on the mountain. Great day!

Honestly Blue's got me spoiled. I'd feel weird calling a mountain with under 1k feet of vert home now. Skiing CB the other day felt like I was at Bear Creek. Sorry if that comes off as being a dick but it is what it is. It would be hard to move back to Jackson Frost with it's 600 vertical full time especially if the trees aren't a priority there anymore. Vert is meaningless out west or even in Vermont. In PA every foot counts.

If you thought the Camelback shade on blue was bad, I just stumbled across this gem on twitter...

What some fail to consider is that vouchers and a cup of cocoa won't keep the red lobsters that we all love and are passionate about open for business for very long. There'd be no Red Lobsters left! I, for one, am ok with supporting those Red Lobsters because if I couldn't ski, I mean eat at red Lobster, I'd be really really sad.

Mid Valley... Mike's right. Everything is within a 5 minute drive. Plus they make a mean veggie lasagna

I'm rolling with an Epiphone Explorer only because I wanted a Gibson Explorer but can't bring myself to shell out a couple grand for the Gibson. The Explorer look is so iconic. It works just fine for playing in my basement really loud.

Did the twilight. It was $39 but yeah... Full price.

Would have rather have been ar Blue but tonight was fun. Props to CB for being the only game in town and letting us enjoy sweet spring conditions before another round of shit weather.
